I hated the crate. They tried everything to help me get used to it but I just couldn't. I'd bark the day away and drool all over the place out of stress. If they left me out of my crate while they went away, I'd get really scared and chew up their things or go to the bathroom on the floor. I didn't want to be bad but I just hated being alone. Now my parents take me to Wag-a-Lot! I get to play with my friends all day long and I never have to be in a stinky old crate. Even though I'm a big girl, I get to play with the little dogs because the staff really paid attention to my personality and saw I was playing more in that yard than with dogs my own size. I appreciate them looking out for me! My parents say they can see me playing on the live camera feed online. That sounds cool. Maybe that's what they do all day while I'm playing. Sometimes mommy picks me up a bone or treat from their great little shop as we're leaving and that makes me happy. I get to stick my head out of the window on the way home and smell all of the lovely Reynoldstown air as we cruise down Memorial. Yay for Wag-A-Lot!

I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Wag-A-Lot Downtown. I received a phone call…read moretoday informing me that my dog has apparently had ongoing issues with rough play with other dogs -- something I was never told before. The only communication I ever received was that he had been moved up to the large yard, and it was presented as a positive/congratulatory thing, not as a behavioral concern. During the call, I was also told that my dog is often kept in the den for much of the day and mainly gets time out with staff members because he seems stressed in the den. As a pet owner, it was upsetting to learn this had apparently been happening for some time without my knowledge or consent. I completely understand that not every daycare environment is the right fit for every dog, and I appreciate them trying to manage situations safely. My issue is the lack of transparency and communication. If my dog was struggling socially or spending significant time separated from group play, I should have been informed immediately and consistently. Because of this experience, I'll be looking for another daycare that communicates more openly with pet parents.

I have been grooming my own dogs pretty much since I brought them home as puppies, so I rarely use…read moregrooming services. However, I've been VERY tired and grooming two mini goldendoodles is just a lot on me nowadays. Today I brought my girl up here for a an express wash and blow dry so I could just do her cut at home. I made certain to comb her out fully and remove any matting. I even confirmed with the front desk person that her coat was free of knots, tangles, etc. This is the second time they have done a very mediocre job at properly drying the coat. Not only was it not blown out all the way, she had THREE matted knots (leg, neck, rear) that were NOT there when I dropped her off. I expected to be able to jump right into using my clippers, it kept jamming up and I had to use my own forced-air dryer and slicker brush to get it smooth enough for the blades. I 100% understand that curly/wavy coated dogs like this require a bit more, but I didn't expect to have to go over 50% of the work I paid to have completed. Edit: What's crazy is I left this review in their private portal for someone to contact me in August. No response until this Yelp review. I'm not sure if I'm being called a liar or not, because the response is all over the place LOL

The staff are dog owners themselves, not only do they understand the details of caring for a pet, they really adore animals. We recently returned from a trip. Our sitter was AMAZING! While we were away, she gave us updates the entire time with photos and took our energetic lab on long hikes. Our cat was given lots of head scratches and tummy rubs. We came home to a couple of chilled out, happy healthy babies. It's priceless to be able to depend on Buckhead Paws for a worry free get-away. She didn't seem annoyed or rush me when I became emotional realizing what was going on with my dog. My baby ended up passing away (no fault of theirs) the next day im the hospital, and Dr. Stephens called me and offered her condolences, which I really appreciated. Everybody here seemed to really love animals and care about my dog, especially Dr. Stephens. The only reason I haven't returned here is because it would bring back painful memories.
