I made a 1:30 appointment and they made me wait letting other people that came in later ahead of me

I booked an appointment with James on a Thursday afternoon. I showed up promptly at 4 for my appointment and he got right to work. Usually, a haircut at my usual salon takes 1.5-2 hours. James took 35 minutes for a full wash, cut, and dry. While I have to admit it wasn't the most luxurious experience I'd still recommend others. First off, it's very reasonably priced. I don't think I've ever had a haircut for $32 in my life. That for a woman's haircut is unheard of. Secondly, James did everything in under an hour, which I appreciate given that I can just go during my lunch hour at work. All in all I think he really nailed down the cut that I wanted and when I had concerns he stopped to listen and reassure me that we were on the same page. I will definitely be coming back. read more

I was recommended this place by many family members so i was pretty excited to go. They were saying that James was amazing so of course I had to try it out. Not the most modern place, has a very old run down look to it, but it didn't bother me. I have asked other modern better looking salons for the same thing and they just don't seem to understand what I'm asking for or they include their own input into MY hairstyle or they flat out said they don't do specifics haircuts like that. When i told james what i wanted, he knew immediately and he agreed that it would do me well compared to the current haircut i had (due to those said modern looking "high end" salons). I was a little nervous bc after i told him what i wanted, there was no conversation until he was done, so either he really understood the assignment or we miscommunicated and are just not on the same page-- ends up, he just really knows what he's doing. James was fast and efficient and honestly gave me one of the best haircuts i've ever had. It literally felt like 4 lbs was taken off of my shoulders simply due to the better hairstyle. Plus, the price is right! I will strictly be getting my haircut here from now on! I'm not one to go in for trims, i like to change up my hairstyles, and i kind of trust James w my life after that cut. read more

I've been coming to this salon since 2002 because their haircuts have been consistently amazing. You simply tell them how you want your hair done and they will carefully execute it. The staff is genuinely nice and will welcome you as soon as you walk in. My main barber, James, has numerous years of experience in cutting men and women's hair of all ages. He saw my middle school Asian bowl cut and I was not having any of that in HS hahaha!! Got my zero inch skin fade and the patented "flip style" and a new Wade was born. Their new barber Joe is extremely talented as well. I tried them both and I seriously have no complaints with any of my cuts. :) Men's haircut and hair wash is priced @ $18.00. If you are getting a haircut after 5pm, make sure you reserve a day before!! There is ample parking in front of the location. They also do pedicures and manicures but I haven't experienced that yet LOL! read more

Bought the Groupon a month ago. Called them up and asked what their availabilities were. They were very friendly and was able to take me in the same day; which I was really happy about. I did not have to wait at all. I explained what I wanted to get done. Grace knew exactly what I meant. The color she picked was a perfect match to my original hair color. I've been to this salon 3 or 4 times and usually Tony cuts my hair. But this past Saturday he wasn't there and someone new cut it. I asked for a trim (2 inches off) with long layers, walked out with FOUR AND A HALF INCHES CHOPPED OFF with absolutely no layers. After telling this new guy 10 times that I do not want my hair short and his coworker telling him in their language not to cut it short he still insisted to chop off FOUR INCHES of my hair. Probably will not be returning to this salon for a while, especially if Tony isn't there. read more

On a Sunday afternoon, I needed to get an emergency blow dry. I was at Rockaway mall and started searching online for places nearby, since the hair salon at the mall could not take me. I called Super Beauty then, told them on the phone my hair is really long and asked how much would that be. On the phone I heard $23.00 for the shampoo + blow dry so it was a pretty fair price for at least give a try for my Sunday afternoon beauty emergency :) Arriving at the place, Grace received me with a friendly smile and started right away.This is a huge plus for me to have a professional working right on time. Grace did a fantastic job on my hair (when I say it's long I am talking about hair below the waist) and pretty quick as well. The price remained the same as she said on the phone so another bonus (Multiple places when you have long hair will change the price they tell you on the phone, saying that your hair is longer than they thought...). Grace is a true gem, I am really glad I have found her. I returned there twice already - always great service. The only reason why I do not rate it 5 stars is because the salon is a REAL simple place, the furniture is dated and it needs some effort with the cleanliness. But Grace service is absolutely 5 star quality- I really recommend her service. PS - She is off on Mondays. read more

I have been going there for years over 10 actually more than that. I won't ever not go there. Diane and Therea are simply the best. When I needed a cut so bad and if they were not there I leave and come back. Diane specializes in color she actually has a card for you for what she did so she could follow it and she's not there Theresa will look it up. Everybody they are a class act I can't say enough how good they are just do not and I will not go anywhere else their treat you so well they always make time for you. I bring my 96 yr old mother also. She doesn't want to go anywhere else. Not only do they know her and will see me bring her in. Many times they will see will see her and comes out to help her. Hell even my 16 year old goes there and of course I am only her mother. I let her think she found it. Everyone who has a 16 year old know what I am talking about!! she actually let's Diane do her ombre. DO not Go to clip and cut. You will cry. Thank you guys read more

This place is HORRIBLE. I DONT advice anyone to visit unless you know that certain person that you can trust with ur hair, nails, eyebrows, etc. Well it was my first time going for a haircut due to a promotion in Groupon and i did not feel comfortable from the get go. The woman made me feel harassed because she wanted me to redeem the barcode from the promotion right away. I had to rush and do it before I sat down. And then the nightmare begin. A man, did not even get his name, started to brush my hair ( very think) like he wanted to rip my entire scalp out. When he washed it, he did not use the tip of his fingers to really get the scalp clean, he used his NAILS!!! And they were long. My hair was separated in several portions for him to dry it with the blow dryer and he kept unclipping my hair like I was a doll and couldn't feel pain, i tried to be tough but it got so bad that I couldn't take it anymore. Long story short I left the place CRYING of pain, and trust me I can tolerate pain well, I have a tattoo behind my ear. I don't recommend this place at all and I will fight for my money back. I felt like my scalp was on fire for a good hour. I am not a typical review writer, but I could not let this go and I feel obligated to warn everyone new to this unprofessional location. Very disappointed and disgusted at how this " stylist" is even aloud to touch women's hair! read more

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. They do not even deserve 1 star. I scheduled a massage two weeks ago, I called yesterday to confirm my appointment, showed up today and they could not accommodate me. I was furious. They did not try to resolve this issue and kept telling me to just come back.... No I have a very busy schedule. Why would you make an appointment and then confirm the appointment knowing that you could not accommodate this service. My fault to even "try" a place like this out. It was dirty on the inside and their main business is haircuts for gentleman. They could not have careless that I was upset and unhappy. GROSS, NASTY, and DISAPPOINTING! I just had the worst experience I have ever had at a hair salon in my life. On Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at approximately 5 p.m., I called the Wayne, NJ Great Clips to find out the wait time. The woman on the phone said, "Oh, there's no wait, ma'am. Come on in." I was about to ask her to take our names for the list, but she hung up on me. We left the house immediately and drove the 2.1 miles to the salon. When we got there, we there was about a half hour wait . That part was bad enough, but when it was my daughter's turn, we told the stylist, Armando, who my daughter and I could barely understand since his English was so poor, that we wanted at least three to three and a half inches off the back (she has very long hair.) Perhaps he confused inches with centimeters, because he took off no more than two inches. I told him that he needed to take more off, that what he took off was less than requested, and he refused, saying he would not cut the hair again, that I saw what he was taking off and should have told him sooner. Well,at no time during the haircut did he ever ask me if what he was taking off was the right amount, and I thought he was going little by little, as some hairdressers do in an effort not to accidentally take too much off, and of course he would fix the cut as requested. When he so rudely refused to redo the cut, I just said "FINE," paid the bill and left no tip for the first time in my life, as the service was awful. I have never had a hairdresser ever refuse to fix a cut before. read more
