I visited the Redmond location for the first time yesterday looking for new running shoes and it just happened to be during their anniversary sale. I was specifically looking at Brooks and Altra running shoes and narrowed it down to a couple of different Brooks models. Two staff helped me and they were both extremely knowledgeable. I don't want to bore you with my specific questions, but based on their technical answers, I narrowed it down a shoe that would support my natural foot fall and provide stability for my road running, and let me tell you I was torn between a couple of shoes. I was glad the shoe I chose was more discounted than the anniversary 15% off sale! I ran with my new shoes today and I am in love with them. The staff led me in the right direction. I've been having ankle pain and was recommends by my chiropractor to go here and get shoes. I parked in the parking garage behind the store (red 86? or something. It's an apartment complex) which says it needs payment, but if you're going there for retail parking, it's free (I called the employee at SJNJ just to ask). Great experience. Jack helped my husband and I by giving us a pair of shoes to see how we liked it and the fit. He helped with determine our shoe size and then based on our feedback, pulled out different shoe options. I wanted more arch support and ankle support and ended up with the ASICS GT-2000 11 for $150 pre tax and my husband wanted something more snug around the heel and got the Saucony Ride 15. He's was $98 pre tax because they price matched (same color and same size) to REI who is doing a sale right now! That saved us ~$40. Each shoe selection process took ~15 minutes. Really loved their service and the price match policy. Jack also reassured us multiple times that we can try it out for 30 days (and that we should!) and if we didn't like them, we can return them. read more

This is my go to store for new athletic shoes or clothing! Recently I popped by for a second pair of sneakers, and again, the staff did a fantastic job. They always seem to make each customer feel like they are the only one in the store. They listen to what you want and suggest a few different options. Then give plenty of time to try on and walk around or even run around in the shoes. I was nervous going to a store because of COVID, but I'm almost sure this place was cleaner than a medical office! I ended up with new shoes that were perfect, not even having to break them in! Woohoo. Thanks again Super J&J! I've been a fan of Super Jock 'n Jill since I bought my first "real" pair of running shoes with them over a year ago. All their staff are very knowledgeable about running, and when I bought my first pair, Kaisa was able to look at how I walked/jogged and evaluate the right type of shoe with the right type of support I needed. It's pretty remarkable she was able to help me pinpoint the right shoe because now when I demo other brands of shoes during the Tuesday night running groups SJJ hosts with Sayaka, I still find the original shoe Kaisa helped identify is always my preference. During the Tuesday night running group, SJJ invites vendors for us runners to demo shoes, taste energy bars, drinks, and gels, or even stretch and unwind with yoga after the run. Sayaka does a great job leading those runs with various routes on trails around Redmond. I've loved being a part of this group! I recently purchased my much overdo second pair of running shoes to retire last year's pair, and my experience was nothing but great. The employee helping me showed me options and let me compare the newer model of my favorite shoe to other models to help me decide if I was going to switch shoe brands or stick with what I know. I love how when I shop there, I don't feel pressured to buy anything and get to take the time to wear the shoes and even run outside with them a little. Tried to come to this store while in town visiting and their store said they were open until 8 and arrived at 7:30 and they were already locked with not a single employee. Disappointed to say the least since we were only here for a limited amount of time and were looking to buy some gear for hiking the next day. read more

Fun fact: I am not a runner! I needed a walking shoe for an upcoming trip, and someone recommended Hokas to solve a foot pain issue I've been struggling with, and this was the nearest store that carries Hokas. I really expected it to cater to runners and athletic types, but when I walked in, I was immediately greeted, and the associate listened to what I wanted and set about helping me find the right shoe! He checked out my current shoes for wear pattern and watched me walk, so he could see my gait and what type of shoe would make me most comfortable. He brought out three pairs to start, two Hokas and one pair of Brooks. It was actually hard to choose, they were all great! He was completely low pressure, no judgment, and completely attentive. I ended up wearing the Hokas out of the store (they are seriously comfortable, if weird-looking, shoes), and he made sure to tell me that I should wear them a few days and then come back if there were any issues - because they want me to have the right shoes for my needs. It's not the kind of service you see in a lot of shoe stores, or shoe departments. First rate. read more

Levi was super passionate about helping me feel good with my purchase and didn't make me feel pressured at all. I like very much this place. They are really knowledgeable about sports and right attire for them. Particularly running. They even let you know if something is going to work on you and why. Staff is super friendly and always willing to help you. It is a small shop and you will have help if wanted. They have very good pieces but not an entire variety because of the size of the shop I guess. But I will definitely keep coming. They are also perfect for running news, races, and little missing things for them :) Some races give you discounts in the store ;) read more

I needed a new pair of trainers and so I went to Super J&J to see what they had. I have been here before so I knew that the service was first rate. The young lady that helped me was knowledgeable and had me try 5 different pair of shoes. I found a pair l really liked and the deed was done. All in all it was about 30 minutes from walking in to the store and checking out. It was kind of a dead time when I went though so YMMV. I definitely recommend stopping in if your in Redmond and need a new pair of kicks. read more

Wow, what an impressive store! I live nearby but had never visited here. However, my neighbor who runs marathons and her equally jock-ette friends swear by this store, so I recently ventured inside, just to browse. I have no doubt that the next time I need to purchase running shoes, I'll be getting them here. The two ladies who were behind the counter when I visited were super nice and we chatted briefly before I wandered about, looking at all the merchandise. All their products for sale and high end and of excellent quality, and the prices are understandably high, but I liked how they had a sale area with some racks of work-out clothing with discounted prices. The running gadgets and accessories seemed priced on a par with those in all other sports stores I've seen (i.e., the running belts and headbands shoelaces and race bib belts, etc.). There was a salesman assisting a lady purchasing running shoes and I overheard him discussing the benefits and drawbacks of various models. He sounded extremely knowledgeable about the product lines and optimal shoe fit. I liked how he didn't seem pushy or exert any sales pressure. As I continued to browse, I noticed all the flyers and posters about upcoming races and walks and events, posted on the east wall of the store. There was a ton of literature there, and there was info how one could register for many of these events right there in the store. Also, there was info on all the upcoming "Info Nights" at the store (as well as at their Greenlake store) where various speakers come to the store on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm to discuss various topics related to sports and running. These info sessions are free of charge. How cool is that? And there was info on "Store Fun Runs" where they encourage runners and walkers to join them for a 2-5 mile run on Tuesday nights at 6:15pm. Again, how cool is that? I just got a good feeling from this store. It really felt like they were trying to foster a real sense of community. There was no pressure for me to buy anything and I felt really welcome here. I can totally understand all the positive reviews. I now feel I have a place to go to get quality running gear and, as importantly, quality information on running-related issues. read more

After deciding that my son and I would run the Iron Horse Half Marathon we decided to go somewhere that specializes in running shoes. After reading Yelp reviews we decided on Super Jock 'n Jill in Redmond. Very glad we did. We were helped by their friendly manager. He started by asking us a few questions about what we were looking for, our running frequency, injuries, last pair of running shoes, etc. He brought out some shoes then had us run for him to analyze our running styles. We tried on a bunch of brands, and sizes, always narrowing down our selection. In the end we walked away with shoes we are very excited to try out and knowledge that we have found a family owned running store that we will always return to for any gear we need. Let's just begin by saying I hate buying shoes. That then gives incredible weight to the next statement, I LOVE buying shoes here! I bought the first pair before traveling to Scotland and my feet were comfortable the entire trip. Today I was looking for waterproof running shoes for an upcoming trip to Ireland. I regret that I didn't get the name of the young woman who helped me because she really knew her stuff. I told her the characteristics I was hoping to find and she immediately recommended two brands. She even gave me a tip regarding my orthotics that made a big difference. Twenty minutes later I walked out with the most comfortable shoes I think I've ever worn. Great to have a branch on the Eastside. Sure, it's more expensive to buy in store than online, but the customer service and generous return policy can be worth it. Whether you've been running for decades and know exactly what you want or you're a new runner and have no idea what pronation is, they can help you find what will work for you. Plus, the company is great about supporting the local running community (eg, sponsoring races, hosting high school spike nights, etc) and athletes (eg, hiring professional/semi-professional runners). It truly is a local/family business with great history, so that's another bonus. The only negative thing about this store in particular is that there is a certain employee (I've never seen him at the Greenlake store, though he may also work there since a lot of the employees go back and forth) who can be kind of rude and condescending both towards customers and his fellow employees. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, since everyone has bad days, but I've noticed this on multiple occasions, so if he happens to be there when I want to buy shoes, I usually say I'm just looking and then come back another day. The overall quality of the store easily makes the second trip back worth it. read more

After a not so great experience trying to find new running shoes at Road Runner in Bellevue, I ventured to Super Jock 'n Jill in Redmond and had a wonderful sales experience with John. John provided knowledgeable information about running shoes and explained in easy to understand terms what aspect of the shoes I needed to look for to help me find the best pair for me. John encouraged me to try them out by running in the store (and outside if desired) to make sure the comfort level was also there. The service from John was outstanding. John also noticed I used cotton socks for running and helped me with trying out nylon socks as well to help more a more comfortable and easier on the feet running experience. The shoes are sold at MSPR but it was a price that was very worth paying based on the knowledgable service, generous return policy should something go wrong and overall great store environment. Look forward to many great miles on the shoes and a return visit when my new Brooks decide they have had to much running. Thanks John for the outstanding service. read more

WOW! This was the best customer experience I have ever had in a store! I always bought my walking/running shoes in bigger sports stores and after having fit issues all the time, decided to give this smaller store a try. I never heard about this store until they opened a store here in Redmond. I am so glad they did and I had the chance to come in and finally get a good pair of shoes fit to me. John took a lot of time to find me the right pair of shoes. I was already concerned I'm taking up too much of his time, but he was super friendly, knowledgeable and found me the right pair. They also send you out the door to walk in them around the block, so you get a better feel overall if the shoe is a good fit or not. I also love the fact that you could return those just in case they don't work out, you never know what a shoe feels like after a couple of miles in them. I am so happy they are in Redmond and will recommend them to all my friends. read more

This place is great! I walked in after suffering from tendonitis and other foot issues due to starting a new job that requires me to walk upwards of 10.5 miles a day and after describing my foot issues, an employee who overheard immediately recommended Hoka shoes to me. I tried on one pair which felt fine but the next pair--Bondi 6 were the ones. The numbness and electrocuting pain in my toes disappeared after a few days of wearing the shoes and I have not experienced any other foot issues since. One issue I did have is less than two months after purchasing the shoes, I realized there was a hole above each big toe in the mesh area of the shoe. I have never experienced my toes putting holes in my shoes before. When I called the store to tell them what happened, they recommended putting duct tape on the inside of each shoe in that area and told me to go ahead and bring the shoes in for a replacement pair. I didn't have my receipt on me because I came straight from the park I was visiting but that was not an issue. They replaced the shoes with no problem and put duct tape in the toe area inside of each shoe. I do wish the shoe company would design the shoe with thicker mesh or a different material altogether so that holes being created in the shoe in such a short time wouldn't be an issue. This shouldn't happen in $160 shoes in less than two months. Not the store's fault. I am mostly impressed by the young lady knowing immediately the right shoes for my foot. After I had already purchased the shoes, I visited my podiatrist and she told me to stick with the Hoka brand and that they were the correct shoes for my feet. read more

This place is great, and so convenient. I went there to buy new trail running shoes because I wanted to take on trail running, so I had zero experience. They have a very small selection, as they specialize in road running, but they're very close and I like local shops, so I went there first. The store is surprisingly big, and well laid out, with lots of space. They have a pretty good selection of running clothes, not too extensive but good. You can see that they choose which brands and models they want to carry. The girl who helped me was very nice, and I did find my new shoes among their selection of 3 (or 4?). Again, this is trail shoes, they have a much larger selection of road running shoes. I didn't buy them there because I didn't like the color they had in store, but I made a point of buying several clothing pieces. I've been back a few times since, and they're always very nice and helpful. I'm just sad that they don't carry my favorite brand of road running shoes. I would definitely have bought my next pair there if they had! read more

I am new to the area and this was the closest running store to me. I stopped in to buy a pair of running shoes to start running again after a six month hiatus. Dan was awesome! He listened to my whole backstory and history of shoes and then brought out several pairs for me to try on. He watched my gate had me try running outside. I compared several until I found the perfect shoe. I've been out in them a couple times now and I love them. I felt very welcome in the store and would definitely return. Better experience than some of the other chain stores I have been to that want to sell you insoles with every shoe! read more

After going to other stores, I decided to check this place out. I was looking for something that I was told I needed by a medical professional due to my low arches. Claire was amazing as she helped me understand not only what options I had but actually examined the way I walked with the various shoes on to see if there was a better shoe for me. I narrowed it down to two shoes but picked the one that was recommended by the medical professional and not by Claire. Bad mistake. After less than a day, I had to stop wearing them because it was causing my foot to pronate out to the side of my foot. I was a little worried about returning them since I couldn't go back until the next weekend. However, when I went in, they let me try the other shoe and exchanged it with no questions asked. Amazing! My son recently joined a track program with an emphasis on training for speed and strength for football. We wanted to get a really high quality shoe with proper fit for growing feet. Ty was fantastic to work with. He listened to the aspects of running that would take place and then presented a number of options to consider. Each shoe was reviewed for fit, comfort and style. Even after the selection was determined Ty provided running and stretching tips that were very well received by our teenager son (which carried much more weight than if Mom or Dad had made suggestions). Stopped in to get a new pair of running shoes for my upcoming marathon. Haven't purchased a pair of new shoes in a while so I'd forgotten what worked for me. Emily helped me find the perfect fit by assessing my gait and pulling probably about 20 pairs of shoes for me to try until I found the right match. I have never had better customer service at a store in my entire life! Every time I come in here, they are WONDERFUL! My first time I think I was with the manager- he spent like 45 minutes with me making sure I found the best pair of shoes for my feet. I have lots of foot issues, and pain, and he was so SUPER helpful! I chose a pair, and he put my back up pair down on a card in case the pair I picked didn't work out. Well, 2 runs on the new shoes and they were just not working. The staff (a lady- not the same person) took them back with no problem! She gave me a full refund and got me the 2nd choice shoes (that I'm now wearing 7 months later). She even went and ordered the shoes in a different color for me so I could have the color that I liked! She then called me personally to let me know when they arrived! I went back for my husband's shoes and they were equally as helpful. I forgot to mention- each and every time I go to that store, I have my 2 boys- they take after their mom's LOVE for running shoes and show that love by touching everything in the entire store- The staff is so nice to them and never make me feel bad about the things they do. One of the ladies even told me, "We've all been there- we've all had to buy shoes when we've had our kids with us" and it really put me at ease. I will be a customer forever!! They had shoes for me! No one ever has shoes for me! (Size 7.5 4E) Even much bigger stores with shoes stacked up to the ceiling! The staff was really knowledgeable and made a great recommendation even though I need shoes outside of their normal wheelhouse. (Crossfit/Weight instead of running.) They didn't have a ton in my size and I could tell they felt a little bad about that but they had something! Awesome. The best part is, they will take them back if you wear them and they don't work for you. A nice safety net for a higher end shoe. Totally worth it, I had a sprain a couple months ago and finally feel like I have a shoe that supports keeping my feet and ankles healthy :) read more

I came in a few months ago to get some new shoes for group fitness classes. They were super patient with me, offering both kids and women's sizes for me to try (i've small feet). I ended up trying on and walking around in 5+ or so pairs. He watched me walk to help pick out the best shoes. I ended up getting a pair of last season's nikes (that were on sale) and I could not be happier! It's been a couple months and I've had no issues. Buyer beware. I was sold a pair of running shoes at full price that were either returns or floor models without the salesperson disclosing either. How do I know they were not fresh-out-of-the-box new? No tags or packing paper, fully laced up, and slight dust/dirt on the soles. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry and needed running shoes right away, so it did not click until I left the store and did a closer inspection of the shoes. Bad business practice. If shopping at this store, I strongly suggest really inspecting and questioning the merchandise before purchase. read more

I just started running and my sister recommended I visit Super Jock n Jill to get a fitting done so I get the right shoes for me. My fiancé and I had the pleasure of working with Anthony. He was knowledgeable and engaging. I'm sure on New Years Eve day there were other places he may have wanted to be but Anthony made us feel important and special. After trying on 5 or 6 different shoes and running outside in at least 2 pairs, we decided on the ASICS. I have tested them out and I am extremely happy with them. Anthony gave us information regarding medical night and weekly runs that they hold. I have never experienced such customer experience buying a pair of running shoes before. Gail took great care of me and very patiently. I tried maybe 5 or 6 pairs and tried a few outside running too until I found the perfect fit. I ended up with the Pegasus. Gail also told me I can come back after using them in real condition if I was feeling some discomfort. In the past I always bought my sport shoes from bigger sport franchises.
