I have been on somewhat of a mission to try all of the tamale stands in the South Bay. I do love my taco trucks but tamales are better (yes, I said it) and I truly wish there were more tamale stands closer to where I live (Mountain View). Upon searching on Yelp, I saw that this place was fairly close to me and so I decided to give it a try. The stand is in the gas station at the corner of Moorpark and Winchester (off of the 280 exit to get to Valley Fair). I ordered both the pork and chicken tamales and both were delicious. The owner provides both salsa as well as crema for the tamales, which were nice accompaniments. Like I said, I wish there were more (actually, ANY) tamale stands in the Mountain View/Sunnyvale area especially considering the Latino population. However, until they appear, this tamale stand is the closest to me and I will definitely be coming here to satisfy my tamale craving! read more

Holy moley!! These are so delicious!! We had the chicken, the chichirron, the beef, and the pollo verde... they were ALL delicious! My favorite was the beef. You need to eat it right away for the best, freshest experience. The couple that owns the stand are very kind. They will prepare your tamal for you to eat right then, if you'd like, with cabbage, crema, and salsa. I love the beef one plain. The masa is flavorful, as is the meat. Lots of meat, too! This is that bright orange and yellow trailer in the gas station parking lot on the corner of Moorpark and Winchester. Saw it for years before finally going. It's super good. They do take card/cashless. The strawberry tamales seem weird but are amazing with vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries. Prices are amazing and these tamales are on the bigger side. Be very challenging to eat more than two in a sitting and even that would be kind of a lot! read more

Seen they tamales on Instagram and been wanting to try them out, we payed $49 for a dozen tamales and what a big disappointment they're big tamales, but they're mostly MASA and the kind of weird. The best tamales of my life!!! Located at a gas station. The food is hot and fresh. Great service. Accepts card. The filling is flavored impeccably and the masa (dough) is so fluffy! It paired perfectly in my mouth. It was a great experience. Would recommend!! Don't be shy to try a bunch. I'm not sure what the good reviews are for. I've always passed by this truck almost every weekday and finally chose to try it and see what the numerous good reviews were about. Masa is extremely dry. It crumbles apart. The filling (chicken) was ok and also bought cheese tamales. Not sure if maybe this batch sold was not a good batch? On my search for San Jose's best tamales - I found Súper Tamales. They did not disappoint definitely a thicc tamale with lots of flavor I ordered a variety Jalapeño & cheese, green/red pork, and green chicken I really thought out of all those flavors the green chile chicken was reallllly good. My family's favorite was the red pork. The service is always very good for setting up so bright and early the gentleman who's always there is so friendly and welcoming. The tamales are big and the meat is proportioned nicely. They do take Apple Pay, credit cards, and cash. I only knock down one star since sometimes the flavor isn't consistent when you choose pork. Otherwise this is a great place to come by and pick up some hearty tamales for the fam. read more

Awesome tamales! Been buying tamales here for years and they are delicious, although sometimes it can be a hit and miss. There have been a couple times we opened them and they were still a bit raw in the middle. Fixed it by zapping them in the microwave a couple minutes. Overall their masa and filling is very delicious and tamale size is big so well worth the price! It is a small food stand at the corner Valero gas station. They are usually only there in morning and gone before lunch time. read more

Such great tamales! I love love love the cheese w/chili one but have tried the beef and the pork as well... and they are all amazing! Always try on on-site in the little paper container. They put crema and a delicious salsa on top for you! And... Not only does the meat have flavor but the maza is so light, flavorful and cooked to perfection! 100% recommended as a must try! Awesome Tamales - fresh - thick - I admit I prefer less fillings and more of a thicker masa - though these have great filling to masa ratio. I had the chicken and a sweet corn which were delicious. This is my go to tamale spot! The cart is located in the parking lot of the gas station. Super Tamales has a cart, a few ice chests and a table to make sales from. The Tamales come out hot and delish. I have been coming here for maybe the last 4 years or so. The flavor is consistent, soft masa and a good amount of filling. For a mere $3.50 each your tummy can be full and happy. You may ask for your Tamales to go (still wrapped in husk) or prepared (with salsa and sour cream) either way you can't go wrong. I always order 2 but I can only eat one . I for sure will continue to support this local spot. The gentleman that man's this location is always very nice as well. It's a win win! read more

I've passed this place every day on my way to work for over a year. I finally went to check it out. My Wife had a pot luck so I ended up ordering 24 tamales. I'm familiar with good tamales and bad tamales. Tons of my family members used to make home made tamales growing up. Bad tamales have too much masa/disproportionate, are dry, and lack flavor. Good tamales are moist bursting with flavor and have the perfect ratio of masa and meat or cheese. These Super Tamales are 10 out of 10! They are large tamales! My favorite is the red beef which is not too spicy. These super tamales are better then restaurant or taqueria tamales I've had. These have to be some of if not the best tamales in the bay area. Surprised this food truck/cart doesn't have higher reviews and rating. These are the best tamales in West San Jose! The pork is super moist and a generous amount of meat filling, masa was not dry. The cheese & chili was a perfect balance of salty/spicy. The corn ones are my favorite to get and make sure to add crema to the top or sour cream. Can't beat fresh tamales and fall weather; the aroma mixes well with the brisk air. I was there during breakfast hours and they were already open. Several people were in line and more queuing up. I got the pork tamales with green sauce. They add mild red sauce and sour cream to your specifications. Overall pretty good, especially since they were uber fresh. But I've had tamales with slightly better texture to the corn meal and more interest to the red sauce. Not bad though. FYI, no seating if you happen to be walking by like I was. Been getting Tamales with them for a while now. Great tamales but they changed the recipe for the chilli cheese one. I know for a fact that they used to use Oaxaca cheese but now they use Monterey Jack cheese( and MUCH LESS OF IT). We asked the new guy working up front and he straight up lied to our faces and said "we never changed the recipe". What's going on? read more

Honestly this place should have way more reviews. Their tamales are their only focus so you can imagine the craft and work they put in to perfect the recipe. The Jalapeño and cheese with salsa and sour cream on top was sooo delicious and very filling. It cost $4.16 for one, definitely worth it. I was driving and happened to see them on the corner so I made a sharp right turn into this tiny gas station-mini mart lot. I ordered two tamales and I really enjoyed them. They're very big.
