I don't usually take the time to leave reviews, but I had to for this one. Nevaeh exceeded all my expectations. I do typically ask for something super basic, but I'm pretty particular about how it turns out. She really listened to everything I said, checked in throughout, and even confirmed at the end that she hit everything I asked for. (Which she did!!) No complaints at all. Every time I made appointment here. We are always having to wait longer extended time than my appointment time. I have made arrangements . And there were other clients booked on top of my appointment time each time I have gone here. And I've noticed this never happens to anyone else there. Because I have other family and friends that come here . It's disappointing. Because they are sometimes some really great hair stylist here. I will be finding a new place to go to. read more

I've been coming to this location for over 10 years and have always gotten an acceptable scissor haircut except for two times. Stylists are nice and friendly and will carefully cut your hair. I always reserve a time slot ahead of time to make sure I get priority when I walk in. My most recent cut was by Nevaeh and she did a wonderful job on my thinning hair. There is usually some type of background music playing and adequate air conditioning to make the experience pleasant. read more

As soon as I walked in my daughter and I were greeted by all the ladies styling hair. A young lady at the front let me know the wait time and was so friendly checking my daughter in for her hair cut. Waited about 5 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. My daughter sat down with Grace, she was super sweet and gentle with her. She was very fast because it was a simple cut but none the less very beautiful. We loved our experience here. Will definitely be coming back. The girl was nice and everything, I asked her to cut just three fingers, maybe she is new or something but my hair is ruined. This one was the second time I went to get a trim but now idk if I want to go back. I don't know what to do my hair. I'm not mad, I'm sad I let my hair grow for two years and I was get scared for getting an haircut for this kind of problem. I finally got the chance to sit down and review this place. I booked an appointment on December 31st at 9am. Got there on time, got pleasantly and promptly serviced. This is what I asked for: a blowout. Yes as simple as that sounds, it wasn't at all what I got. I was so confused when she was done. It looked like she just dried my hair and thats it. No volume no texture nothing! My hair stops at my neck and paid 50$ for it to be dried. It looked like nothing, it wasn't styled -no body at home when I returned even though I went to get it done!!! I had to fix it up back at home before my party. I dont get it, if you can't provide a service or you don't have the training for it just say I cant! dont make me waist 50$ and 45min of my time. First red flags should ve been all the guys waiting to get their hair cut. I mean its called supercuts makes sense, but from now on just stick to that, cutting hair, nothing wrong at all with doing only one thing but doing it right, but honestly my experience was horrible, I didn't say anything, paid and left but both of you ladies who were there that morning know that none of you would've paid a cent for the poor outcome I got. I usually go to the Supercuts in La Mesa or another nearby barber, but Bonita is closer to home and they had an earlier appointment available. My experience was very positive. The 2 employees I interacted with were friendly and made me feel welcome. I believe Alessia cut my hair that day and I was very happy with the end result. She was very detail oriented and thorough, which was a big positive in my opinion. Although I like the La Mesa area a little bit better than Bonita, I plan to continue to get my hair cut at this location. read more

Don't know why I keep coming back. Every time I make an online reservation, they still see people who "checked" in before... it never fails! Expect to wait 45 minutes to an hour after your scheduled appointment to be seen. They do not have consistent staff, every few months it seems to be new people. Last time the stylist told my 10 year old daughter she wasn't properly taking care of the dye in her hair (we box dyed it for fun) and that it was ruining her hair... she was so sad after that she wanted to take it out. read more

I am always skeptical of getting my hair cut, because it's short and you can really mess it up pretty easily. And honestly, not a lot of salons do short hair, or shall I say, do it well. So many do mostly these long hair styles and blow outs, etc. I have spent up to over $120.00 to try to get my hair done well by someone and can't say I've ever felt really satisfied. I just moved into the area and needed at least a trim to make life bearable!! I had no clue where to start so decided, wth, just let Supercuts trim it up for me...well, the Manager Janine was in and when I asked who cut short hair well, Janine said she'd cut it for me. I used to go to Great Clips for years and my first experience at this Supercuts was superb. Everyone was very friendly and gave me exactly what I wanted. They also gave very helpful advice on how I could style my hair and always give suggestions whenever I'm unsure about what I want to do whenever I go in. I would like to thank Blake specifically. I sent my mom here for her birthday today, to get a blow out and her hair cut/styled. I wasn't able to make it due to work but she told me how great Melissa was to her! I was hesitant to send her here because when I think of Supercuts I think of a place where primarily males go to get their hair cut...I was wrong though. My mom wanted a quick in and out walk in so she decided to go here because it is very close to where she lives. She had no appointment and got seen quickly. As you can see from the pictures my mom has fuzzy wavy hair and the after picture is a sleek nice healthy look for 50$. She looks amazing and is ready for her birthday bash tonight. There is only two girls working (and they're working hard) balancing clients and phone calls so be prepared to be patient. Both stylists were very kind and communicative. My ten year old son and I both got cuts at the same time so I can say both stylists are great. Many people are quick to complain about wait times but the whole world is short staffed and it's causing the people who do show up to work so much harder and these two were kind and professional even when ten plus people walked in within five minutes of opening the doors. read more

Today was the worst experience i have experienced;( I called to see if there were accpecting hair appointments and i was told that there were a 25 minute hair wait, so i took an uber there because my car was getting detail, when i arrived i was approached by a unprofessional stylist which i'm assuming that she's a manger!!! keep in mind there's couple of people in the salon already, this women said well the next appointment that is available is for 1:00pm then on top of that she said we don't do artificial hair!!! and she kept on saying that, that was the most embarrassing thing that i have experienced :( read more

I'm not one to typically leave an unsatisfactory review. But I am so deeply disappointed and frustrated with the service I got. First, I had made an appointment for 1:30pm, which it was 1:55 by the time I got in the chair. But the biggest upset was the haircut itself. I showed Valerie what I wanted & mentioned wanting to maintain the length and just clean up the back and sides a bit, shaping to what I showed her. I felt heard when she confirmed leaving the length on top, thinking she understood. However the result was much much shorter and nothing close to what I showed her. Buzz cutters were used at one point and I even stopped her saying, "I didn't want it short," but she reassured me it was just her method of cutting the "little hairs". I should have known right then. Especially when she would pause to talk, not focused and just very distracted throughout the process. And to further add, I was charged the $25 price of a cut and shampoo & was not even asked if I wanted my hair washed. Which I did, but the wait time set me back and I ran out of time so didn't even bother asking . Very upsetting to have to pay full price for some one to butcher my hair & not even receive the full service. I've had lots of great experiences with thisSupercuts location before. But will not be returning and advise against it to others completely. read more

The whole staff is friendly and does a great job! Melissa, and Erica are usually my go to stylist! I usually go in during the mornings during the week b/c that's when there is less of a wait. They don't take reservations and it is first come first serve but the wait is usually 10-15 at most b/c they have a handful of stylist working. Why am I so late on this? I don't know. I've been going for over a year to get my hair cut (and sometimes a blow dry& flat iron) by Melissa. She rocks! It is very hard to find a stylist that really kjows how to treat curly hair. And I have super curly hair. But she never disappoints! And I swear I wish I knew what magic she works to get my flat ironed hair so sleek yet swingy and light. I can maintain it for 2 weeks. I've even tried using the same products at home and I cannot replicate her results. Bonus: she's not scissor happy! You say half an inch (I said what I said lol) and that's what you get. Plus she does it in front of the mirror so nothing shady there. She's also a really cool person and puts you at ease She doesn't try push products on you and will only recommend or offer tips. They don't dry your hair for a reason. I specifically asked her to not cut the front short instead it looks like she chopped it with her left hand, blind folded, high and hung over, using the standard kindergarten kid scissors. I'm gonna die. I can't believe how horrible it is. She cut a lot of length off, there's no salvaging it. Edward scissorhands could've done a better job blind. Don't come here for a trim. They'll hack your hair off and not blend your layers. If you want hair that'll be great for ponytails then this is the place. read more
