Hnin was great last time, and I am not sure why this experience was different and negative. She was friendly, but she did not blow dry my hair all the way, and my hair was still wet on the back of my head. Also, I told her to set the tip at 20%, but she set it at 30% on the receipt. I did not purchase hairstyle products. Since labor does not lead to a "sales tax" in California, $13.78 is a 30% tip for a total of $45.95 for labor. I am uncomfortable with the aforementioned bad business practices, as this is a form of taking advantage of the customer. Supercuts, you are taking extra money out of my wallet that I did not agree to. We can do better than this. Tomorrow I will take time out of my busy schedule to call the manager and resolve this issue. I don't plan on returning to this location after my conversation with the manager. read more

Today went to get my haircut and this girl, name Jax accidently CUT a small part of my skin on my ear! Stupid of her, acting it was nothing a small cut, no big deal. WHAT THE FUCK. If it's no big deal on her end of this situation, how come it's still fucken bleeding 2 hour! In addition, the most STUPID AND RIDICULOUS COMMENT SHE DARE TO SAY is, " wow, I can't believe it's still bleeding". NO SHIT EINSTEIN! Ears are the most sensitive spot in human. Another, problem I have with this girl, is she didnt tell me it was bleeding in the first place. At the moment, I thought I was a little scrap, so I brush it off. I was pretty disappointed when I went in to get a haircut. Typically, the hairstylist who does my hair is the one who takes my payment. However, because it was a busy day, Beatriz handled my cash payment. I asked her to break my $20 bill so I could tip my hairstylist. She gave me a $10, a $5, and some $1 bills. As I was about to give my tip, I realized she had shorted me a dollar. I informed Beatriz that she had only given me $19 in change, and she accused me of pocketing the missing dollar. I assured her that I didn't have any extra change in my pocket, to which she replied, 'Well, I gave you all $20.00 in change.' Not wanting to escalate the situation in front of everyone, I decided not to argue with the manager over just one dollar. Additionally, I hadn't seen her count out the $5 in ones. I just had my hair colored here earlier today and it was an awful experience. I came in to dye my hair a light ash brown color. When I came in I asked how much it would cost and was eventually told it'd be $60 (normally $45 but my hair is really long so they add extra which I completely understand). I was then taken back to do my hair color consultation by Les. I showed her a picture of basically what I wanted and she showed me the swatches of colors she had available. She showed me ash brown and i told her I wanted a lighter color and in the end I picked a dark ash blonde color. My hair is naturally dark brown and I had lightened ombre ends. I asked her if my hair would turn out the same color as the swatch and she assured me that it would. She even told me that my colored ends would turn that color just a slightly more golden shade. I was really nervous about this experience to begin with, but her confidence that it would turn out exactly how I wanted made me feel better and I agreed to go through with it. After, she took me back to get my hair washed and she then informed me that since my hair was lightened and gold toned on the ends that she would need to add a toner which would make the overall cost $115 dollars. I don't understand why she didn't tell me that to begin with and why I was told a cheaper price when I thought that's what the hair consultation was for in the first place. She seemed so confident that my ends would turn out the color that I wanted, but all of a sudden I needed toner. I understand why, I just wish she would have told me in the beginning. It was way more than I wanted to pay but my hair was already washed and I felt compelled to keep going so I agreed. After the coloring process, and rinsing it out my hair was very dark. I asked her if the color was supposed to be so dark and that it looked nothing like the swatch. That's when she told me that she never really can know how hair will turn out when you dye it. I was completely shocked. She had assured me that I was going to get the color on the swatch. I told her I understood but that I was just confused because she told me that my hair was going to be that light color. She then told me that even if I was to go to a "professional" they wouldn't be able to make my hair that color. I went to Supercuts because I expected professionals. At this point, the manager, Trish came by to check on me. I told her my concern and all she could say was that I was probably envisioning something different then what I asked for. I told her I was envisioning the color I picked out and was told I would get and that it was a lot darker and looked nothing like what I wanted. It seemed as though my stylist was more concerned with looking good in front of her manager, rather than making things right with the customer as promised. She kept saying I asked for ash brown and that's what the caption of the picture I showed her was. She kept telling me to show Trish the picture and I told her that I didn't care about the picture because I pointed to a specific swatch and was told that's what my hair would look like. I told Trish the color I picked out was ash blonde and she told me that I needed to have the toner applied to my hair and it would end up being the color that I wanted. So at that point I had my stylist's and the manager's reassurance that my hair would look like the swatch. After applying and rinsing the toner however, my hair turned jet black! I wanted ash blonde and got jet black! And the whole time Les kept walking by and saying that my hair color was perfect and turned out great. Les was no longer helping me at this point as she was on her lunch. As a last effort I asked the lady who was rinsing and brushing out my hair if it was going to lighten and she told me that she had no idea and couldn't help me. Finally I went to pay and the lady who had rinsed my hair was helping out Les. She had told her that the total cost should be $55 because of a new price change but Les said no that she had already told me that she was going to charge me $115 because she added "shine"??? I didn't even want to fight it anymore because I was tired of everyone at this salon making me feel stupid. As I was leaving I looked at my receipt and it said that I was charged for a full head of foils 36-50 which I didn't get??? Trish had left for the day so I couldn't even address the matter with her before leaving. Needless to say, I am incredibly disappointed and will never be back. read more

Just had my hair done with an amazing stylist, Sam. I was terrified to walk into a Supercuts again after a tragic experience at one about 5 years ago. With being new to the area, and all higher end salons fully booked I decided to take my chances here. Sam fully understood my fear of dying my dark hair to light and wanting an ombre look. She fully understood I did not want to have any orange in my hair and she totally nailed it! I finally have hair I'm proud to wear and am beyond impressed with her services. I've struggled to find a stylist who will both listen to what I want and not let me walk out looking like a dork. (It's a fine line, ). Dear Supercut Management, I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received at your Cottle Road, San Jose California location. I had made an appointment online for haircuts and shampoos for my two 11-year-old sons with Beatriz in Jan 2023. However, upon arrival, Beatriz was not present and when she arrived, she informed me that she could not accommodate both of my children due to her tight schedule. When I declined her offer to have another staff member cut their hair, she agreed to see one child and then informed me that she could not brush my child's hair because it had knots and because she did not want to take the blame for damaging my son's hair. Despite my booking including a shampoo, Beatriz told me she did not have time for it and when I asked if she was okay with cutting my children's hair, she refused and told me not to return to the shop again. When I asked to speak with a manager, Beatriz informed me that she was the manager and proceeded to yell. Beatriz was in a mad mood that day, and she dumped that on us. I am extremely disappointed with the unprofessional and rude behavior of Beatriz and the lack of accommodation from the staff at your Cottle Road location. I expect a high level of customer service and professionalism from a business in the service industry and I did not receive that at your shop. I hope that you take the necessary steps to address this issue and improve the customer service at your Cottle Road location. read more

Got my hair cut here like two years ago and just realized I never left a review. When I went in the lady who was cutting my hair was pretty rude to me and it seemed like she just wanted me out of there (which I would have understood if they had a lot of people waiting but it was only me and like two other people getting their hair done). I didn't feel very confident about them cutting my hair but I decided to do it because I was already in the chair which ended up being a big mistake. I showed her some reference photos for how I wanted my hair (a little shorter than shoulder length) and she said that she could do it so I thought everything was going to be fine. Before she even started cutting anything she insulted my hair and lectured me for wearing a hoodie to get my hair cut (She didn't ask me to take it off before I sat down or even before she wrapped me in the gown/covering?). Then once she started cutting my hair she was very rough with my hair and it hurt quite a bit which made me start worrying about the quality. THEN she brings out the razor? There was no part of my hair that would have been shorter than a few inches but I was trying to trust the process since "she knows what she's doing". The cut I asked for was a bob (just above the shoulders with curtain bangs. I ended up with a literal bowl cut (just google . NOTHING like what I asked for which really upset me because I showed her a photo of exactly what I want. The whole thing took probably 2 minutes and she didn't even ask me if I liked it just took off the tarp and walked to the register. I had to wear a beanie for the next year because I absolutely hated it. Even two years later just writing this down gets me upset again. Poor service, poor results. Don't recommend at all. read more

Ladies and gentlemen allow me to inform you that judging a book by its cover has never resulted into a good mindset. Two years ago I walked into the almost a brand new store. 30 min prior to that I had been to a mom and pop shop hair salon that had pulled my hair three times and I walked out after the hairstylist laughed. I asked politely to stop cutting my hair and then I asked to pay and they rudely told me to leave. So moving back to my experience. Right before the hairstylist (Lety) touched my hair I asked her to please not pull my hair with the machine. I disclosed that i have extremely thick hair. Lety( hairstylist) with confidence told put me at ease with her confidence and educated me that with thick hair she would suggest to use the metal blades vs the plastic version. she then asked me if where I used to go would the leave imprints of the blades. so i responded "yes"! So end result Lety did a spectacular job an ever since that she is my go to! The price is a Bargain comparing it to a 60-80 haircut by a barber. Lety has great customer service skills. I believe she has a decade of experience. lastly she is efficient! I hope Supercuts understands the value this individual adds to her customers and company. read more

As a queer kid, asking for a masculine haircut is usually awkward and difficult, but the two ladies (Nikki and Sarah) working here were welcoming and heard me out about the cut I was looking for. I'e never been to a super cuts because they tend to be older looking and I was always under the impression it was just for men. This location opened a few weeks ago very close to my apartment and I was desperate for a trim and figured why not. I called to make an appointment for the following day and was told they don't take "appointments" but to call the day of and add your name to the list ahead of time so you don't wait as long. I got my hair trimmed by Kelly. She was awesome! Hair salons and nail salons tend to make me awkward because I feel obligated to chit chat about things I'm not particularly interested in, but Kelly made our conversation feel like it was between friends. She recommended future products and treatments without being too pushy and was very knowledgable on questions I had for styling products.
