Holy cuss, y'all. First off, the staff was incredible. Everyone from the host to the our waitress GenelLynne was amazing. She was super present and wonderful. We got the nachos as an appetizer and it immediately my friends baby stopped crying. Most of the table got an OG margarita which was prime and my cocktail with mezcal was like a symphony of flavor and smokey goodness. And the mole enchiladas. Y'all. I was really excited to try this place out but man what a disappointment! We called before arriving to get on a waitlist, because they don't do reservations. When we finally arrive they say it's about an hour wait and that's fine! Once we go back to check in after almost reaching the hour they say we are #35 in line and it'll be ANOTHER hour. So at this point we're like what the heck, so they say I'm sorry give us 30 more mins... fine. We finally sit down and and order. The food came out pretty quick but not good at all. This is possibly my best place to get TexMex in atl. The only reason I took off a star was that they stopped doing their rice and beans for the table. I'm pretty disappointed in myself that I've never checked in or taken pictures at my #1 favorite restaurant in Atlanta. I must just get down to business as soon as I walk in the door. It's so good. Fancy Mexican food at its finest. I love both of the free salsas and the chicken enchiladas in particular. I typically like to branch out when I repeat at restaurants but no need here - the enchiladas are a great serving of melted butter ("crack" butter), guac, cheese, pico de Gallo, their homemade hot sauce, their perfect flour tortillas, their grilled onions, and of course their perfectly cooked chicken. The food was incredible! We got the chili con carne, tacos and fajitas and enjoyed it all. Everything was very fresh. It's been a couple of months since Gracie and I called off our fleeting romance, the empty loneliness has finally dug its fingers into my distressed bones, and I venture out into the wilds. The sun was high, and well, so was I. I thought of her as I walked down the sidewalk, passing by blurred visions of colors and shapes. Life is happening around me and I can only try to notice it pass by. The ground pops and hisses at me beneath my feet, seems like I'm on my way to Margaritaville after all. I sit down at the bar and order. I lay in wait much like the opossum waiting out the nearby predator, in hope that I'm not spotted out in public. The wine flows around me, probably too much of Jerry Jeff Walker's delight. Everyone around me looks content, happy, etc, but I can't help but shake this feeling I'm being watched. The enchiladas hit halfway through my second drink, I'm flushed, and the back of my neck is burning, I thought I put too much hot sauce on my dish, but I decided to turn around, and that is when I see her, my heart-wrenching in pain, I let out a sigh. Superica is a restaurant that I've been to many times and every meal I've had there has been very good. Located at Krog Street Market, the main thing I dislike about Superica is the wait to get a table, but once you are seated, the food and service are both usually quite good. They have a menu of tex-mex favorites. When you sit down, you get warm tortilla chips along with green and red salsa. Their queso is excellent, their guacamole is probably worth passing on. My favorite thing to eat in is their steak tacos al carbon. It is three soft tacos of delicious piping hot medium-rare steak that melts in your mouth. It is one of my favorite dishes in Atlanta. It's a good place to come with friends and people are almost always satisified after the meal. If you live north of the city, their location in Buckhead is just as good. read more

Ok, so know this. If you are going on a weekend night, you are going to have a really really really long wait so put in a reservation online ahead of time and don't be late. The food is super tastes so the wait is eventually worth it. I really suggest the guacamole, it never disappoints. They don't do pitchers of margs so drinking will be an expensive part of the evening, but they definitely make those drinks strong! The atmosphere is great for dinner with friends. OMG loved it! Work lunch, with a large group so thank god i didn't have to pay! Each table had guac, queso, chips, salsa, and by time we had ordered our meals i was full from just the sides. Everybody, and I do mean EVERY body, told me to try Superica or "super rica". I now fully understand that sentiment!!! The food is phenomenal and the service even better. Chris, our server, has a friendly and relaxing demeanor. He listens and observes - he noticed I don't like ice in my drink and he proactively said he'd get me a new one without ice. 1st time that's EVER happened. Courtney, the manager, knew it was our first time there and sent over a few apps that were so delicious!!! We were SO stuffed because we couldn't stop noshing on all the good food. I almost want to work there in the kitchen to learn how to make the chips and salsa (especially the green one). It was the perfect balance and taste! I've been here twice, once for brunch the other for lunch. The margarita was alright, and I didn't have anything to complain about for the brunch (I got the Huevos Mexicanos). When I went back for lunch I ordered something from the lunch special, as did the two other people I went with. I ordered the nachos, which were soggy and the cheese felt fake. I also got the enchilada, which tasted very average for the price. It was quite disappointing, especially since there were only a few other people there. Not because of the look of the place, but because as a native Texan I had yet to find a place here in Atlanta that made remotely comparably cheese enchiladas. Why cheese enchiladas you may ask? Well because cheese enchiladas are the standard to measure by for Tex Mex restaurants. If you can't serve some damn good cheese enchiladas with rice and beans, then you don't deserve to claim the name of "Tex Mex." Anyways, this place did it damn good and I was super impressed. This place is a nice place to eat Tex-mex. the staff were friendly and very helpful with recommendations. We had the quest fundido with chorizo as an appetizer which was probably better than my meal. My husband and I both ate the tacos. They allow you to pick and choose which ones you want to try off the menu for your three tacos. We both had a steak and a carnitas. They were both really good. I preferred the carnitas over the steak. I also had a barbacoa taco and my hubby ate a shrimp taco which he loved. The barbacoa was good but it had an interesting taste that I wasn't 100% keen on. If you want great Tex-Mex food, this is the place to go! I did not get to see the indoors that well due to the lovely outdoors seating, but the bar area and host stand was nice. I loved the vibe from the place! Our server was pleasant, but just super slow. We waited forever for waters, and our cocktails came before the waters did. She got everything right with our order, but very slow. I did see her standing at one of the POS when we were needing stuff, and she was just casually talking with the other server. Attention to her guests was not her strength, but having a pleasant attitude is better than you get most places. The chips and dips they served the table was delicious. When our meals came out they looked so perfect, and tasted so good. Spices are used heavily, so a lot of things were spicy. It's all worth it though! Unfortunately that was not the case let's start with the salsa both salsa options that they bring out at the beginning of the meal are spicy I thought the salsa verde would have been mild for us customers that don't prefer spice. I ordered the brisket tacos which were really good I'm not a fan of refried beans so I opted for black beans which I must say tasted like they literally just came out of the can with no seasoning or heat at all they were luke warm at best. The service was fine and my jalapeno margaritya was good. It wasn't strong but it was tasty. I had the lunch steak tacos and a side salad. The tacos were tough, not overcooked, but just tough. It came with nothing but large grilled onions and had no flavor. I have to add my guacamole to it for some taste. the side salad was ok, nothing to write home about. I saved my first trip to Superica for a special occasion because the entire city seemed to be raving about it - I knew it had to be amazing. I was sadly disappointed. My first complaint is price - it is pretty steep, especially considering they don't boast any exceptional ingredients (ie local, organic, etc). I didn't find anything unique to their menu or anything to make it stand out from any other Tex-mex restaurant. My meal was certainly edible, but nothing memorable and the mediocracy was highlighted when I thought about how much I was paying for my entree. When people talk about Superica it takes my strongest willpower to keep my eye rolling to a minimum. Eh, it's Tex-Mex so it isn't bad, but there's about 15 other restaurants in Atlanta I'd choose before this for the same fare. Most likely will not be back. read more

The sauces are great. The vegetarian fajita was delicious and sizzling hot. The tortillas were handmade. Honestly though, I think I got similar quality in fajita's when I was a high school kid on some trip at Applebees. It's about the same. Nothing to cry home about. I hope my friend isn't reading this.
