This has been one of my favorite donut shops ever since I was little, the mom is super nice to me whenever I come in with the kiddos and they get so happy! I haven't been here in a couple months and saw that they had new freeze dried candies which the kids went CRAY CRAY for! All the sales go to a local highschool which is super neat! Today I got my usual half dozen with half sugar and half glazed, yall KNOW that these are the best. The skittles were super interesting because I've never seen these candies in a bakery shop before. Ohhhhh my god, this is the second donut shop I've been to this morning that says it's open at 5 but when I pull up, the closed sign is still up. This is getting so frustrating. Donut shops, update your hours on google!!!!!!!!!!! Came back when they were actually open - sign still says closed, and they only serve you through a window like we're criminals. I was worried when I ordered my too good to go and saw the yelp reviews. At the end, who cares? Give it a try. Definitely worth the try, our donuts came in a medium sized box with many assorted donuts. They were dipped very nicely, not too sweet, and not too oily compared to other places. If you are into super sweet donuts, superior donuts may not be sweet enough for you. But if you want your sweetness just right, they really get the job done. It is however not in the best part of the town, but I grew up here and I'm used to areas like these. Not only that, there's a police station 2 minutes away. I love the variety of donuts they have here! Their prices are very fair. I went and bought a dozen donuts for just above $12 dollars so pretty cheap for the quality of donut in my opinion. This place has amazing donuts! As a grown man, I usually don't pull out my phone to take a piture of my food, but as I waited, and looked at these fresh beautiful donuts, I had to. They don't just make good donuts, but they were in there at 4am making these pieces of art. If you like good fresh donuts, make sure to get there early, because they go quick. Superior Donuts really lives up to its name! I went to grab a dozen doughnuts and stopped by two other shops before coming here. The other places barely had any doughnuts or pastries left since it was almost noon. Luckily for me, I decided to stop by Superior and was pleasantly surprised by the large selection of doughnuts and pasties of all varieties. Not only that, they were fresh too! They accept larger bills (but they aren't necessary because the prices are lower than most doughnut shops nowadays). They even threw in a few jelly filled doughnut holes for free! The donuts here always taste fresher than any other donut shops I go to, which is sadly way more than most. The place is usually moderately busy but you get greeted warmly and served within minutes if not seconds. They also have a drive thru/walk up window, which is fantastic. My only problem is that they are cash only. I understand that donuts are a quick in-and-out type thing, but c'mon. It's the 21st century and people carry less and less cash every day. I've found myself having to stop at the ATM just to get cash to stop here on the way to work. Pretty inconvenient. Pulled up to this little rickety shop in a poorly lit parking lot. No biggie; I'll let the donuts speak for themselves. They didn't really speak. It was more of a whisper. They weren't horrible, and maybe if I were to come here when they were fresh, I'd have a more enjoyable experience. The dough in the middle was soft but the outside and frosting wasn't very fresh. I can't figure it out; I go by there most days and have found there's no telling if they'll be open. I do have to mention that the neighborhood is a little bit on the questionable side (after all, would you expect nothing less from a place on Franklin Blvd). I got out of my car and was immediately hit up by a homeless person who got mad when I declined to hand them anything. I got hit up again after I got my donuts too. This isn't the donut places fault and doesn't affect my review of them, but just be aware of the fact this type thing is going on around there.
