Taste-wise pretty much run-of-the-mill for donuts. Old-fashioned donut didn't have much crispiness on the edges. Raised donut did have a nice dinner-roll-like softness to it though; recommend getting that type of donut here. Overall 3 stars for the donuts but added an extra star because the elder lady at the counter was super patient and polite. FYI: located in the rather bad part of Mack Rd.; I received loud verbal abuse from a beggar right out front, so just be weary if you visit here. read more

Business hours are incorrect online they do not open at 5AM. To save all of my drivers time and gas and a headache! Donuts won't be put out until 6:30 AM and then doors will open for service ! read more

Decided to give this spot a try after these high ratings from yelp and neighbors. Well, I should've taken those reviews about the open time. Apparently they open at five which I got here at 5:20 and the place is black. Please change your operation hours as it is a convenience to drive across town and everything is black closed. Minor inconvenience, won't be trying them again. Sidenote, go off of the hours that people are staying in the rating because they apparently opened. Who owns a donut shop and not open by five, isn't worried about business apparently read more

My favorite donut place. The quality of their donuts is amazing. Always fresh and delicious. This is the only donut shop I go to. If they're close. I won't go to other donut shop. My son took me here on a recent visit because like him, I am a donut aficionado. He knew I would appreciate a good donut shop. But he failed to tell me this is not a good donut shop, but a truly GREAT donut shop. Great staff making great donuts. These glazed, my favorite, were pure heaven. And the cinnamon twists were full of great flavor. If I lived closer, I would be there every morning. read more

These are my favorite donuts. If I could I would only go here BUT my complaint is the man usually doesn't open at 5am even though the sign on the door says it should be open. I got there at 530am today and the lights weren't on yet so I wait for a couple mins then I called to see wen they'd open and the man says not til a little later and I asked him at like 6am?! And he said yes 6am because he doesn't have any donuts right now. Like what?!! They should change their hours of operation on the door. Makes no sense to say ur open at 5am but it's never open at 5am. read more

Little donut gem on Mack rd! We come here every time a donut craving hits. The staff are super friendly and their donuts are delicious! For COVID, they have up to 5 customers inside but I usually go around 7am and never had to wait outdoors. The prices are very reasonable, for both individual and boxes of donuts. They also have hot chocolate and espressos. Overall, Donut Heaven has a good variety of donuts that's not too confusing or too simple. Definitely a place to recommend! read more

I don't usually give a business 5 stars unless I wholly believe it has earned it, but this place has done that time and time again. Donut Heaven understands consistency. I first heard of this place more than 10 years ago when my donut-loving father gave it high marks for great donuts; good coffee; and good service. We are usually on the same page when it comes to donuts and he would rather patronize local, mom-and-pop businesses than some national chains that feel they no longer have to work for their customers' business because they can just sit on the laurels of their big, popular business name (yes I'm talking to you Dunkin Donuts!) You were good when we were together on the East Coast but moving to Cali has done you no favors. But enough about DD. Back to Donut Heaven where they seriously have some of the best fluffy; squishy; pillowy; freshly-made on the daily delightful donuts. Their whipped cream-filled donuts are nice and tasty; the whipped cream tastes like real whipped cream. it is light and airy and not fake chemical tasting. Their maple and chocolate glazes are on point: not gloopy, easily melted, or overly sweet but just right ( and I'm sure Goldilocks could attest to this.) The people who own it are pleasant, accommodating, humble, and kind. I know: I should've dropped this review long ago but part of me was worried that too many reviews would get them to this lofty headspace that some competitors (yes, that's you Dunkin!) reside in and I didn't want Donut Heaven to rest on their laurels either but I think if 10 years or so of regular thanks and compliments from their patrons hasn't caused them to become a big-headed business yet, then maybe they will never turn into Dunkin and they will just continue being the humble donut-crafting artisans that I admire and will continue buying my weekly donuts from. read more

This place is small but clean. Friendly couple own it. If you get there early you will get fresh donuts. They do not have a lot of fancy donuts, basically only but they are delicious. The reason why I didnt give them 5 stars is because they are not always open until the time they have posted on the door. I went in on a weekday with my son who wanted a donut around 2pm and it was already close. A nice gentleman who works at the barbershop next door told us that they close as soon as they sale all the donuts. So if you are going later in the day I would suggest calling before showing up. read more

I love this donut shop. Ever since my favorite donut shop closed down I have been in search of a donut shop with a similar recipe as my last. The dough is not too sweet which I like. One day I randomly popped inside and fell in love with The owner. She has been there for over 16 years. She is so sweet. She always greats you with a warm smile. She is always patient when my daughter takes a million minutes to look at the donuts just to pick out donut holes (as always lol) unlike many other donut shops they accept debit and they do not charge you extra for transactions under $10. read more

I remember always coming to this place when I was a kid with my dad every week. I haven't been here over 10 years and just came here for the first time like last week. Same owners and they still remember us. They're very kind. Back then they would usually give us a free doughnut, but not anymore. My favorite is the glazed doughnut or the one with all the sugar on it. So good. Their doughnuts are very reasonable priced. Sometimes they even give us a discount. read more

WOAH! Blown away by this place this morning. The donuts are so fair priced and they must be laced with something, because I couldn't get enough of it. Where can you get a large coffee for a buck twenty five anymore? Here. They have a crapload of variety for the donuts and I must say my apple fritter was quite awesome. Let's talk turkey, the glazed doughnut is the key, get that right and ur on your way to sweet success. D H is making a great Dnut. Fluffy & sweet. Apple fritter is amazing. I purchased 1 and we ( me, daughter,& wife) ended up in "nerf" gun fight over it. I lost the doughnut but won war. The jelly filled are the best I've ever had. And I've had doughnuts from Winchells fresh out of the oil. I think tomorrow I'll try the ham & cheese croissant. read more

This donut place is a neighborhood gem - the donuts are not as fancy as some of the other donut places in Sacramento but I prefer Donut Heaven over those places. If you want a great donut, this place is the place to go. Their glazed donuts and donut holes are amazing. It's not too sweet like some other places with a vanilla flavor. Just good old-fashioned donuts at a reasonable price. I did try their kronut and their kronut beats Baker's. The kronuts are flaky, doughy, light, and not too sweet. They like to put whipped cream in the middle of the kronuts that make it amazing. Five stars. read more

I'm from Arizona and every morning I purchase a glazed donut to eat while I drink my iced coffee. However, upon moving to Sacramento, I learned that the chances of running into a Dunkin Donuts here is highly unlikely. Yet, I still craved my usual donut & coffee. So while on Mack Road getting my oil changed at American Lube (amazing service folks) I could see across in the next plaza, Donut Heaven! I stopped after I got the oil change and grabbed glazed donut holes, a cinnamon crunch donut and a sprinkled donut! They were all very fresh and soft. I'll be back. read more

These donuts were surprisingly awesome. It doesn't look like much when you walk in, but the donuts were really good. I got a regular glazed and my boyfriend got a glazed old fashioned. Mine was super soft and fresh, with a lot of glaze. We got 3 donuts for only $2.55! Never in my life have I spent so little on such great donuts. I will definitely go back! read more

It's a twist donut, but glazed with cinnamon Apple Fritter. These were massive! Old fashioned maple (my fave) Cinnamon crumb Savory: Both croissant breakfast sandos. Bacon or sausage, both were amazing! Ham and cheese croissant with jalapenos Turkey, egg, and cheese croissant Honestly, every donut I bought was delicious and my MIL loved their Strawberry Heart Attack donut. This is a glazed donut filled with strawberries and whipped cream. Then dusted with powdered sugar. PGA Donuts also have a large selection of drinks that go beyond just coffee, make sure to sample premium iced drinks like Vietnamese coffee or Ice Thai Tea. It was cute to be able to watch them cruise along the oil river & cook in the window. When he presented them to us, he included 2 extra donuts! They were melt-in-your-mouth light & tender. When we ordered, we asked for chocolate glaze, & we ended up with a light sauce that soaked into the hot donuts. After walking away, I wasn't sure if it was chocolate, but it was tasty & not overly sweet. It reminded me of eating pancakes. It was a good treat & a nice little stop in Old Town!
