So many choices.... be sure to try the Apple fritter!

Always reliable, always tasty. A good old fashioned doughnut shop is a must in our hood!

2g2g box (minus a few donut holes)
Jackson T.

I discovered Broadway Donuts from the Too Good To Go app (2g2g). I live near here and I am glad I do. I would not have known about this place if it wasn't for that app. I am not a donut person. In fact, I only like certain sweets, so if I like the donuts here, it is really good. I usually don't eat donuts. They have a great selection of donuts and I have not had one I do not like. I normally feel sick after eating donuts, but there is something about the ones from here that makes me want to eat more and I do not feel sick after. The donut holes from here are probably my favorite. Customer service is great. They are always nice when I come in and sometimes, they have a box prepared already when I pick up and other times, I get to see what they pack into the box. It is different everytime so you never know what you are going to get. They sell Knick knacks and some cool craft items in the shop as well. They have their own parking lot and they are right by Smart and Final, so you can't miss it. I will be back.

Cute National Donut Day sticker
Courtney O.

I stopped in today and picked up 12 dozen mixed donuts for my work for National Donut Day! I called ahead a few days before and the person I spoke to was super friendly and helpful. I walked in this morning and the donuts were ready for me in super cute pink boxes with "National Donut Day" stickers on them. Broadway Donuts is located on the corner of 28th and Broadway and it is a very tiny shop - tiny, but definitely packs a punch! They also were selling little cute collectables and other merchandise. The donuts were light and fluffy! My favorite was definitely the Crumb donut - it reminds me of the little gas station donuts, but obviously better! Broadway Donuts offers a great variety of different types and flavors which probably explains why they had a long line this morning and why they have been around for 40 years! I will definitely be back soon when that donut craving hits! Check them out!

Double chocolate doughnut with peanuts. April 2026.

I was really craving a double chocolate doughnut with chopped peanuts and this is what they had today. (see photo.) Tasted great but I miss the chopped peanuts. Also, I was going to Stanley's donuts and J St. for awhile and to be honest Broadway donuts are really much better when it comes to the double chocolate, peanut doughnut. Stanley's donuts are popular and they have some great variety. However, after going back to Broadway donuts for the first time in a long time it's dramatically better than what I've been getting at Stanley's.

cannot go wrong w this at all my brother. i came here before work to get a medium coffee and a maple bar. $4 for that which i cannot rly complain. the coffee was mad hot tho but that's a good thing. means it was freshly brewed. also the donut was pretty good, no complaints about it.

Donut shops Sacramento is full of donut shops but finding a good donut. Shop is a hard thing. I'm surprised I've never been here living so close. I've been to dozen of donut shops in Sacramento but this is my new favorite one. The staff is very nice and friendly, and the prices are still reasonable compared to others that have raised them up. The inside is set up really nice and they also have some cool things for sale too on the side. I made sure to get a dozen for the fourth. I tried a few different variations and everything I tried was great. My favorite was the blueberry.

Might be my new favorite donut place! So good, I'll definitely be back! The lady was so kind too.

First time going and won't be my last. Might be my new favorite donut shop. The lady was so kind too. Everything was delicious, shared it with my family and they all enjoyed as well.

Just found out that this mom & pop will be closing on December 12th after 37 years. I stopped by for a few donuts and they were amazing. The glazed donut was soft and pillowy, and their chocolate cake donut with coconut was moist inside and had the perfect crunch outside. Always sad to see a local establishment close. I will try and make one more visit before their final day. I hope the Sacramento community gives them a proper send-off before they close their doors.

I've been going to Broadway donuts since I was a little girl and I loved it then and still love it now. My favorite item to order is a chocolate donut bar with whip cream on top, the donuts or made fresh. The lady that works there is very polite and helpful always has a smile on her face. It's a small little establishment that's on the corner. They're very clean inside. The parking area actually is pretty large, also they sell anime toys and other little things. If you love donuts stop by and try Broadway donuts.

They are CLOSED, on a Friday, at 1:25pm, when they're supposed to be open until 2:00. I Drove all the way here to get a donut only to find that they Close Over a 1/2 an hour early there are still plenty of donuts in the display Case. Someone's ruining a good Business.

Awesome breakfast sandwiche! I heat them in the air fryer when I get home. Way better than a breakfast sandwich from McDs or BK.
Dave E.

Excellent donuts, friendly service and a surprisingly good breakfast croissant sandwich. This is one of my favorite donut places in Sacramento because they're light and creamy, not oily and taste great. I can't stand a donut that is packed with oil (I'm talking about you, Yum Yum).

Ask the Community - Broadway Donuts

Anybody know when my favorite donut shop is re-opening? I work across the street and this is my go-to donut shop! I know they closed due to covid19, but can't they still sell donuts doing curbside pickup? Or select and pick up from the door. :-)

Late response, but they're open and have been open for a couple months now!

My eye was first drawn to the churro, I haven't been able to have one in years, I was so excited. It was everything I ever wanted in a churro. I grew up loving apple fritters and since having to go GF, it is my most missed donut-adjacent treat. This one was smaller than a normal one, but that was fine because I could actually enjoy it without it being too big. Perfectly fluffy with apple pieces and spiced just right, it was delicious. The cruellers were nice and crispy on the outside and just sweet enough. Glazed with chocolate or regular icing, they are a perfect donut. I have recommended this spot to others that are GF, they need to experience the joy of a prefect GF donut!

Both tasted very good but slightly different without dairy. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the flavor and textures. My friend ended up with the white chocolate macadamia nut cookie which was also great. I love a crunch or different texture mixed in. She did mention that the Rocky Road tasted a bit off because of the lack of dairy and the texture was a bit unusual. The staff were polite and patient and the place didn't seem that crowded for a Thursday around dinner time. I suppose with Ginger Elizabeth's and Rick's Dessert Diner all on the same strip, there is a lot of competition for dessert places here. We were happy to try something new. Everything was fairly clean and there was plenty of bar seating as well as a few tables. I believe there were also tables outside.

Their senorita bread is probably my favorite item at this bakery-my daughter introduced them to me one day and I've been hooked ever since-they r very enjoyable especially when eaten warm. They also feature a plethora of visually pleasing donuts-that I generally consider pretty good overall, with some much better than others-my favorite tend to be the cereal based donuts they have at this bakery. Their savory selection of bakery items,I generally skip but not due to them being any less yummy but usually only because when I visit here,I almost always go for the sweet stuff primarily-that being said their Jalapeño & Cheese "kolache" is off the hook-it's so good-the ham and cheese and pepperoni and cheese versions rock as well.We can't forget about their empanadas or lumpia-it's really great stuff they are serving at this bakery. This particular trip was unique in that I had been recommended this app called "TooGoodToGo" by fellow Yelp Elite All-Star Malikah H. & on this app I saw they were offering "surprise bags" for $5.99 to be picked up between 630p-7p-so I figured I'd try it out. When I arrived and showed the worker my order, she promptly walked to the back and then handed me a bag that was filled with unknown goodies.I opened the bag and inside were a random 6 of their best donut offerings-I was pretty thrilled considering these donuts usually run from $3-$4 each-so to get 6 of them for $5.99 felt like a solid deal. What I really liked about this "surprise bags" was it gave me the opportunity to try out flavors in their bakery I never would've tried on my own at a deeply discounted price-I loved the opportunity to do this and look forward to trying it again sometime. In closing-this bakery is pretty great and the surprise bag gives me another reason to love this bakery-not that I needed another reason-I consider myself a Bad Bakers loyalist and nothing has changed that for me-go ahead and try em out-they rock. PS-They do have a rewards program-so be sure to sign up for this when you go to Bad Bakers.

They were also out of something I ordered and they were able to refund me. The drinks and food took a bit to come out. The wonton and dumplings were ok, but the soup it came in was pretty good. The taro drink and mochi dog we got were good. Inside was very picturesque with a good amount of seating. The ramen wall was impressive and had a good selection. It served more for a decoration that day than for eating. But we loved the cute tree and floral wall. They also had some games for you to play with while waiting. Overall everything was ok but maybe we'll be back to give it another try.
