I had an oil leak after my usual mechanic did an oil change. Took it back to them and they found no issue. Oil kept leaking slowly. Called Superior Subaru late afternoon and Bill said to bring it over to check. Bill said they over torqued the oil plug. He offered me a ride home if I wanted to leave the car with him at that time! Went back to Superior Subaru the next day to get it serviced. Easy. Done. Reasonably priced. Dealer would charge $200 just to inspect/diagnose. Other mechanics, $50. Bill. Let me preface, Superior didn't do any work for me. But I did reach out to him to ask if he would do some sunroof work on our Impreza. Bill was straight up honest with me and told me he is not a fan of sunroofs and he preferred not to do the work, and to take it to the dealer - which I was hesistant to do. But he informed me that they would do a better job on it than he would. If that isn't honesty, I don't know what is. I took it to the dealer, they fixed my sunroof issue. I am so grateful for Bill at Superior Subaru. My last experience at the Dealer in Ontario was dreadful. I was told I needed a new right axel seal at the cost of over $400.00. I declined the fix and took my car to Bill for a second opinion. The suggested repair was not needed at this time. And Bill did not charge me for his time. I gave him a call explaining what was happening and I wanted to make sure I didn't have a leak. Right away he told me if I still had cold air coming out that I didn't have a leak, but I could bring it over for him to check out. When I got here he was very friendly. He sat in my car and checked everything out for me. If I could give this place negative stars I would. I am from Northern CA and was traveling in Riverside, CA when my car was having trouble starting up. It would not turn on unless someone jumped it. Being over 300 miles away from home even with an external battery pack; that was not strong enough, I really felt stranded. I called up this shop and explained the car's status and how I really needed help or else I'd be stranded. I asked if he could take a look if I brought the car to him but said no. I can't remember every word this man said but it didn't feel like he cared to help. This man's tone was completely rude. I understand that this shop is busy but the fact that he did not even care lost me as a potential customer. I would have respected even if he had kindly said "sorry but we really can't take a look right now. We're really packed and won't be able to check the car out till July 7th" would have changed everything. I was not disappointed as he explained everything about the issue disrupting my car. He gave me options and absolutely did not pressure me into anything. After he repaired my 2012 Impreza, he even put 2 quarts of oil in my car concerned that I was low. I recommended him to my parents to service their 2014 Subaru Outback. My parents were impressed with his work ethic and communication. Superior: "average is about $46 + tax" (didnt bother asking me what car I had, # of Cylinders etc) me: "what are you hours on the weekend?" Superior: (in condescending voice) "I dont come in on weekends, unless by appointment, and thats only for BIG jobs" me: "ok, well thank you."
