Cool concept, less-than-exceptional execution. I came here for the arcade games and truly had a fun time. As other reviewers stated, it's difficult to find a place to safely set your drink. The space is overrun with high tables that can get crowded/interrupt the barcade experience. The drinks aren't necessarily terrible, just not outstanding either. I know I've been spoiled by other city's barcades, but this place was very meh. The game selection is decent, I hadn't seen Frogger in awhile, but the pinball machines are all pretty ancient and the ambiance is underwhelming. There's no place to hang your coat, which means lugging it around if you've been walking around downtown in Colorado winter, nowhere to put your drinks near the machines (aside from the tables behind you, but that really doesn't feel safe as a young woman) and the bartender was pretty dismissive and distracted by conversation from regulars. This is a fun visit though, just keep your hopes comparatively low. read more

Love this little barcade! Been here quite a few times. I love the idea of being able to play games with friends over awkwardly watching people dance. Drinks are great. Have not tried the food but fully intend to on a future visit. The only issue I have is there isn't anywhere to put drinks when playing games and space inside is usually crammed with people awkwardly lingering with limited table space. Not sure if it was just a bartender having a bad day, or if the place is always like this, but the visit was a huge downer. Don't expect to get greeted at the door, or at the bar, even if the place is 80% empty as it was when we visited over the 11/11/19 weekend. $10 for a coke and a mixed drink, and the coke was at best full. A patron next to me joked about the coke not being nearly full and I asked the bartender if it was a free drink since I was the designated driver. His reply? "10 dollars". Yes they have games but the urinal was full of puke at 7pm and just had an out of order sign on it. The bathroom smelled worse than an outhouse. Seeing the floor and the kitchen I refused to order food. It was the grossest place I have ever seen. After 30 min of being there not a single person asked if we needed anything. Always a good time with Supernova. The barcade experience is generally going to be pretty damn good regardless but this place hits the mark with waaay above average bar fare for food. The Burgerito and the Queso dip are always on point. They have good fries as well (both sweet potato and regular). The jukebox is a nice touch when it isn't stacked to the brim with college kids' horrendous taste in music. I've been back a few times since my first post. The bartenders have changed as well as the cook. It doesn't have the same warm fuzzy feeling. Sometimes the noise & music is so loud you can't talk. The drinks are mediocre. I always have to get a double, to taste any alcohol.The wings were OK but not as good as before.By the way you have to go through the crowd of smokers and the bouncer to get to the front door. It doesn't bother me but it's really not a great first impression, if it's your first time going to Super Nova. Sometimes it has a low class feeling. But it's popular and it's downtown. Came here for a night to celebrate a little. It was crowded but people were pretty nice. A lot of the game controls were difficult or tricky or didn't respond well. But they had a lot of good games and a full bar and very eclectic music playing. We were here on a Saturday and it was a little too packed for my tastes. I want to come back on a weeknight and try the food. Will update review when I do go back! Definitely a place to check out if you like games and old school arcades. read more

We just stopped in for few quick beers and pinball on New Year's Eve...but if we hadn't had plans to get back to in Denver that night, I would have loved to stay and ring in 2016 with these folks. It's clearly a "regulars" hangout but, unlike most spots with that vibe, it's warm and welcoming. The few regulars in the bar made it a point to include us in conversation and make us comfortable and the bartender(s) had me laughing so hard my side hurt. Also, as a self-acclaimed arcade aficionado, I can say that for a tiny little bar, the selection here is good and the games are in excellent condition. This place is super fun! They packed that place full with as many games as they possibly could. Sometimes the games take your money, but I've never had a problem getting my quarters back. I usually go on taco Tuesday. The tacos are only a dollar, so I can't complain about their quality. The bartenders are nice enough and the bouncers are always down to chat if you're outside grabbing a smoke. If you're into bar Cade's this place is your spot! read more

This has always been one of my favorite places in the springs, however, tonight this guy told me and the guy I was with that he wanted to date rape my friend. As he started to follow her to her car the guy I was with whom overheard this jumped the fence to follow him and the bouncer told me he couldn't come back in because he jumped the fence. I told the bartender who pretended to be in my side, and as a women shame on you, and then told the other bouncer Bozo that it was too late so they'd side with the other bouncer. Thanks for offering to buy my drinks the next time I come in but I will never and I hope no other woman ever will! read more

We had a good time playing the games here. Took me right back to my childhood! That's the only compliment I can give. The drinks just weren't good. The mules were pure sugar and the lemon drop shots were watery. There isn't a place to put your drink down near you when you're playing the games unless you put it on a nearby table that people are sitting at or put it on the floor. The place was crowded and hard to navigate around the cluster f of tables in the middle of the room. Some of the games didn't work or needed service. Was really excited to bring my dad here when he was visiting from costa rica. Went here and he had a costa rica residency card and id and neither was accepted, he is 62 years older way over the "we id under 40" or whatever it is. I guess they lost $ tonight because he was ready to relive his youth. If youre from out of country make sure carry your passport with you at all times, but he said we dont accept ids from other countries so i guess your shit outa luck if you are a tourist and want to go there lol. read more

Pretty good location, easy to find. The layout made for a quite crowded atmosphere. The idea of this bar is splendid but I was disappointed to discover that there was not an option to play the arcade version of Galaga. The bar food is quite delicious, though it can be hard to grab the attention of the bar-tenders depending on the night. Overall, a nice little spot. read more

We come here a lot and we love it! The bartenders (all beauties!! The owner here is a smart one!) are so sweet and fast. They acknowledge us instantly EVERYTIME. We bring the kids here in the afternoons sometimes so that they can play games while we enjoy a pint. The food is pretty lousy, but it is a bar! They have all the old school games and play sports when they are on. There is a jukebox for dancing if you want, and they host trivia sometimes. Try this local joint! read more

Really great concept but not well executed yet. When we went in, there were high schoolers sitting at the bar. Huge turn-off for grown-ups who want to go have a few drinks. That made us choose to eat elsewhere. Loved the game selection, unfortunately, several were broken. Still had a good time playing the games that were working and will try again as we know it's a new place and will hopefully improve with time. read more

This place might have some growing pains, but I would rather have that then see Colorado Springs lose its first arcade bar! The food is pretty good, pretty satisfying bar grub. Sure, we had some order problems and a wait because of a birthday party that came in before us, but hopefully those kinds of issues will be ironed out as time goes on. Who doesn't love competing for a high score so you can get a $20 bar tab? The arcade machines here are all pretty awesome, not your average crappy movie arcade with stack em' games or generic racer game X. There are some real classic gems here like Street Fighter II, Joust, Star Control, Missile Command, Tapper, Punch-Out, and so much more. If they can maintain these machines and fix the controls on some of the more fragile machines, this is heaven. Oh, and we need more places to put down our beers in a barcade, but that's a minor gripe as well. read more

There is not much use for a barcade where half of the ten machines I tried had broken controls, bad monitors, or both. Why aren't they maintaining their machines? Staff was unhelpful, drinks were fine. But Supernova really misses the point. read more

Only reason it's getting a 4 out 5 is no Hennessy or Guinness. Actually no cognac at all. Besides that the atmosphere has that hipster intellectual vibe. Juke box and rad games. And if your ballin on a budget and still trying to have a great time this is the spot. Good times overall read more
