We overheard another telling the new guy "if a job goes past 3:30, they won't make us do a second." And they were so inefficient! The truck had a ramp and an elevator lift, and they used the lift for every single box. They were taking their sweet time. When we got to my new house the foreman handed me an iPad with the charges, and--before I said anything--told me that if I had any issues with it I should call corporate. And then he sat down and got on his phone. Listen: I get that there are travel charges. But we traveled, one truck, from North Salt Lake to Millcreek--maybe 20 miles. So why was the travel charge more than $500 and an ADDITIONAL fuel charge more than $350? And that's to say nothing of the "packing materials" which we never asked for or were quoted about--another $240. And of course now labor was nine hours, not four. And they wouldn't unload the truck until I paid. They were holding my furniture hostage. Well I paid. But I have been told twice over the phone that they are going to investigate, and it's been ten days of nothing. Do not use this company. Especially not the Utah branch.

They carefully wrapped all of my furniture in moving blankets and packed my stuff into the boxes so that the next movers, who will be moving me into my new apartment in a new city, won't have any issues. I genuinely have no words to explain how horrific Monument Valley Moving made our moving…read moreexperience. First of all, their Sales manager Todd definitely makes you think you can trust him but that certainly isn't the case at all. He has no idea what he's talking about or he's just blatantly lying to get a sale. He quoted us $2,100 and said we could fit about 20 more boxes if we wanted to with the space we have in the truck and it wouldn't cost much more. We didn't know until the day of when the movers would be there and he hadn't confirmed anything with us. Then the movers arrive and demand $1400 more than what was originally quoted because they said each additional box was an extra $140 (not what we were told at all and that's insane). After arguing for 30 minutes with them they refused to pack our things until we paid and we were left with no choice as we were moving the next day. Todd told us it would take at maximum 3-10 days for delivery, it ended up taking 17 days. In between pick up to delivery, he completed stopped answering my calls and was unable to get any help on the matter at all. When the delivery finally came all boxes were completely destroyed, broken kitchen supplies, broken TV, nothing was protected with packing supplies at all. This has been an experience from hell and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone even if you are on a budget it's not worth it because in the end you will get scammed.

They had been overall nice so I didn't make much of that; and didn't want to get bogged down in negative feelings on an already stressful day. I tipped them and gave good reviews for that day. But then when my items arrived in IL a few weeks later, I came to find out that they loaded without consideration to my belongings, scratching and damaging small items and completely breaking my West Elm entertainment console. When I tried to reach them to get money back to replace the item, they initially pretended like they would fix the issue. But then proceeded to ghost me. It was such an overwhelming & expensive move, made worse by this company. I would recommend avoiding having them help move. It's not worth the headache.
