    love boat with Rainbow Roll

Decent sushi located in the heart of downtown. I've been here a few times with friends and the food was good. Two of the times we got the love boat with different rolls---yessssss, I 'love' boat with my friends---of course ;) It came with soup and a shared salad for each as well! I will go back again for convenience and would definitely recommend this place to friends. For the prices/quality in general I do prefer some of the other spots in town to really satisfy my sushi hankering. Definitely worth checking out as some of the other menu options also look tasty- I'm wicked curious about their ramen---next time!!!

Food is always consistent here and is a perfect spot for lunch or date night. They have a small sushi bar and make fresh sushi in house. I got the Philadelphia roll and seafood udon. I like the spicy stir fried udon a lot over the classic one as it has a nice kick and very flavorful. The restaurant and bathroom is very clean. The sushi roll was fresh and well made. Service is always quick and friendly. Their staff is very attentive and welcoming. They are located on Westminster Street in Providence in a fun and busy area.

A solid 3.5! The meal was good, but I didn't have anything to write home about unfortunately. The appetizers were fried well and had good dipping sauce pairings. The sushi rolls were okay. My biggest issue with the sushi here is that the shrimp tempura is sub par. When in a roll, it isn't crispy and the shrimp is very small, sometimes not filling up every piece of sushi. Given a lot of their rolls have shrimp tempura inside, I was hoping it would be better. The fish quality is good though. The chap chae was also good but could use more flavor. Service was good (food came very quickly), and it is really conveniently located downtown. Prices were very reasonable as well, especially with a 5% cash discount. Overall, a solid spot for a quick meal, but I will be more picky about what I order next time based on what was done well this time.

I had went around early afternoon, where the place is mainly quiet and calm, so it may differ to services at nighttime. But overall, it's a wonderful place to dine in, whether it's by yourself or with a party. Dining in by myself, the service was fairly quick without needing to feel rushed. Once you order, it may take a while for your food to be ready, but once it's there, it's a delight. You may reconsider to think that the food's price may be expensive however, its portions are a lot. If it's your first time, consider something light and order a few of their items and try other things as you go in the future. The staffing is nice and quiet, respectful in asking questions and expressing their hospitality.

Drunker tiger, spicy maki combo, seaweed salad and miso soup. Regular salad

Walked in here on a whim after shopping in the area. The restaurant is well decorated and lit and has a comfortable vibe. I saw a few people enjoying delicious looking plates alone which to me is always a good sign. The hostess who was also our server provided great service. We ordered a sushi combo, seaweed salad a specialty roll and some drinks. All of that together (which was a lot of food and a healthy healthy pour of good wine) came to $77. I kept thinking while eating I will absolutely come back here. I love an unpretentious, friendly neighborhood spot with delicious food. I feel like miso soup can be an afterthought tacked onto your combo but this soup was SOOO good. I slurped it all. The drunken tiger specialty roll was particularly yummy. This place is awesome, I highly recommend it.

my boyfriend and I love it here - he loves being able to get black bean noodles and sushi from the same spot, and I love watching the sweet servers try to convince him to learn how to use chopsticks the lunch specials are a great deal for anyone thinking about $ but honestlyyyyyy I've always left Sura feeling like my money was well-spent (and I'm a girl who loves to order many dishes)

The restaurant is located in a nice area with a lot of local shops. Stopped here for lunch and it wasn't too busy and the staff are friendly. They give you banchan with miso soup and other sides. I got the Sura ramen with pork and the broth was decent. The bowl is a generous size with plenty of ramen noodles and a good amount of toppings.

Sushi was very mushy. I got the spicy maki and didn't really enjoy it. Their salad was good and so was the banchan (Korean sides). The miso soup was too salty for me. My Fiancé loved the ramen, so I'd probably try that if I returned.

Loved this place! The food was fresh, service was quick, and the waiter was so friendly and informative about the menu. As a vegetarian and a picky eater, I have a difficult time finding a restaurant that I really enjoy. I was so happy and satisfied leaving this restaurant. I would definitely recommend.

This was so delicious!! We got the meatiest crab rangoons, the juiciest dumplings, and the most flavorful sushi. Our sushi rolls came with miso soup and a refreshing salad. Our waiters and waitresses were all so nice. We came here on a whim and we're so glad we did!

Went here on my one hour lunch break, and if you are near here, check this place out! The restaurant is cozy and open when you walk in with approximately 10 tables and bar seating. The servers are friendly and attentive, always smiling!! The menu is large so there's something for everyone, their prices are great too. My co-workers and I will be back soon!!

Sura boat, Tonkatsu, Tteokboki, and Yukgejang

I'm from Vegas and was really impressed by a Korean restaurant in Providence. It felt just as good as the best back home. The sushi was super fresh and tasty, and the tteokbokki had perfect spice and chewiness. Tonkatsu was very tasty. The food, and especially the service was very pleasing. I highly recommend checking this place out.

BuDae Jjigae hot pot aka korean army stew
    Angel P.

I stopped here for lunch with my partner. We ordered the kim bab, and dudae jjigae hot pot (army stew). The kim bab was good/decent, and pretty big in size. The budae jjigae was overly salty. We also got it with cheese and ramen (additional $2 for each add-on). The budae jjigae was enough for the two of us. The banchan/side dishes were good. The restaurant itself is clean, well decorated and service is good. The website is not updated with their current menu (at least I couldn't find the budae jjigae on their website). They have a pretty big menu.

I say this as someone from the South-- I do think they did an excellent job with their BBQ and their name makes me laugh because it feels almost like a disclaimer. I got the pulled pork plate and it was delicious-- the cornbread had maple syrup on it and it was so yummy! I got sweet potato fries as my side and they were so good (maybe some of the best I've had?) I saw someone else had mac n cheese and it looked good so I ordered mac n cheese as well-- also delicious!! My boyfriend got the brisket which was great and enough to take home for a second meal. The plates are a great bang for your buck, not to mention delicious!! The vibe is like dark/casual/BBQ-- relaxed and spacious seating. Service was good too. There's parking outside that can probably fit 6-7 or so cars-- we got lucky and snagged a spot. There's some street parking around too though.

Luckily, there was a perfect corner of the bar had just opened & we grabbed the seats. The atmosphere was convivial, upbeat & super comfortable, despite the crowd. Service was fabulously friendly & competent - the bartender handling the packed house with ease. We decided to go with an array of small plates to try as much as possible. The menu it designed perfectly for grazing & the prices are super reasonable! The selections are definitely on the comfort-food side with a strong southern hint. Ingredients are often locally sourced - something I greatly admire. We began with the a small plate of Pimento Cheese Toast. Just a few bites each but a nice start. Duck Drumettes. The horseradish-y white sauce was delectable! Even my non-duck loving partner was blown away. I was happy to hear that the salad was available in a half portion - enough for a light fresh break to our heavy selections. Next came a much heavier choice - the gravy fries with duck confit. We left off the cheese, but it wasn't missed at all. These were decadent, delicious & super filling! Next time we'd get a half portion - that would have been plenty! Our final dish was the Shrimp & Grits, but we'd already filled up on the other dishes & ended up asking for this to go. Even reheated, it was a perfectly delicious accompaniment to our brunch the next day! I'd be tempted to order this to-go again for just that purpose. While we didn't imbibe, the cocktail list looked wonderful & the bar was very well stocked. We did enjoy a nice selection from the interesting beer list. The sandwiches that we saw come out looked delicious & huge! We'd love to try them as well. We will be back - this is certainly a new favorite for us!

Not just a little to go sauce container, like a small size deli container he filled half way worth of sauce! Although I was not a fan of any of the sauces really. The wings were cooked to perfection (smoked just right my husband declared) and the coupon was for 6 wings- Mike went above and beyond! I like my wings to have a little salt or an awesome sauce- that's where these wings fell a little flat for me. They were good but not my jam. I also ordered a side of mac and cheese. It was $7.99 and it was a very small serving- that small deli container. It was congealed. Maybe a liquid cheese and shredded cheese that didn't fully melt? I am not quite sure what's happening here but i did not like it. I have to say Mike was nice, it didn't take long for the order but there was a whole lot of sold out food (cole slaw, cornbread, brisket, etc...) and the kitchen seamed unorganized and maybe a little sleazy? They are contenders in this competition without the sauce. The sauces the gave out were a buffacue, tiger sauce, house bbq and a mustard based sauce. All were fantastic but the tiger sauce was my favorite. It was horseradish based - the same sauce the put on their roast beef sandwich- and was a standout. When most hot sauce is pepper based, the horseradish was such a surprise in flavor. Do your self a favor and go and see Mike. You won't be disappointed. RI Food Fight- Lord of the Wings 2025 Review:…read more First time ever at Wes'. I grew up hanging out with previous owners kids. The wing coupon brought me in. Off the beaten path, decent sized parking lot, inside is very modern. There were only like 2 people working on a Saturday night at 5pm. When we walked in we had to wait to be seated for 5 mins but the place was pretty empty?? Once seated, we placed an order for drinks. I went with a rum punch (it was advertised as moonshine but I asked for the liquor switch) and my husband eyes a posted $5 margarita sign. The drink was more liquor than punch. I like it the opposite way. My husband had no problems with the margarita's or the deal! The wings: we went boom boom sauce. It was a decent wing but the boom boom just didn't do it for me. It's me- not the sauce! Just not my jam. He told us it was like a Cajun ranch. I didn't find anything Cajun about it. We ordered mozzarella sticks (I don't think you can really mess up a mozzarella stick.), (2) cornbread's and 1 rib. The cornbread was ok. (With winging it, I have had a lot of cornbread around the state recently.) The rib was large! Overall this place is ok. My husband and I chatted as we pulled out: if we were in the area again we would hit it up again!

Wow! After reading so many reviews with a wide variety of ratings we didn't know what to expect,…read morebut our visit to Wes' was great. We used to frequent Wes' back in the 1990's, but hadn't been there since it reopened. We spoke with the owner today (who was also our server), and learned it recently changed hands again, so maybe the poor reviews were under the previous ownership. Our experience today was awesome as we really enjoyed the environment as well as the food. Wes's has its own parking lot, which is great since parking in Olneyville can be tough. The exterior of the building has been fixed up from the good old days, and when we went indoors, we were very impressed with how the interior has been renovated as well. New windows, new furniture, new bathrooms, and everything is spotlessly clean. Menu choices are great with fair pricing, and service was prompt with just the right amount of attentiveness. We were using our RI Food Fight sandwich coupons and were given three choices: pulled pork, fried chicken, or the All-American burger. We went with the pulled pork and the burger. Both were served on good rolls that didn't fall apart, and both were nice and big with plenty of meat. The burger had a delicious smokey taste and the pulled pork was tasty as well. We did not use any extra bbq sauce, but we did see a bottle of what looked to be house-made sauce on another table. In addition we split corn bread and sweet fried plantains and really enjoyed both sides. Wes' is still working on obtaining a liquor license (should be soon!), so we ordered sodas and were impressed by the large cups. We also checked out the arcade game area, which looked fun, and the additional seating room upstairs which includes a small stage. The new owner told us that they host karaoke and trivia, and this room looks perfect for these types of entertainment. We loved that the event space is separate from the main dining room as oftentimes it's tough to eat dinner and converse while other events are happening, and it looks like this won't be a problem at Wes'. We would like to wish the new owner lots of success - Thanks for bring Wes' back to life and we hope to return soon!

All of our food was delicious, the employees were super friendly and helpful, and the restaurant seating area was pleasant, attractive and very clean. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich, a pastrami sandwich and a half rack of baby back ribs. Both sandwiches were excellent, but the ribs really stole the show. They were well seasoned and so tasty, but better yet, they were extra, extra tender. We got two sauces on the side - rib juice sauce and the regular bbq sauce and I especially liked all of the herbs and seasonings in the rib juice. The ribs were some of the best I've had in this part of the country and I'm very glad we went to Chub's today.

Both times, Chub's delivered in a big way. Pull up and you'll immediately spot their massive smokehouse on the side of the building, which is a converted trailer that means serious business. Parking is plentiful. Inside, the restaurant is warm, inviting, and spotlessly clean. The staff were genuinely helpful and professional on both visits, the kind of team that makes you feel like a regular even on your first stop. On the first visit I went with the Ghost Pepper Sauce on the wings. They were crispy, perfectly smoked, and surprisingly approachable heat-wise. Not a face-melter, just beautifully layered flavor. I paired them with the Sweet Pete's Pulled Pork Sandwich and Grandma's Baked Beans, and honestly? Both were fantastic. The pulled pork was tender and perfectly smoked, and those baked beans had that homestyle depth that's nearly impossible to fake. On visit two I ordered the Blue Pig Sandwich and a half pound of Brisket. The sandwich was great, but the real showstopper was the Brisket. It was super moist with a bold peppery rub that had clearly been earned through hours of patience and smoke. This is the kind of brisket that makes you go quiet mid-bite. Chub's Blue Pig BBQ is, without question, one of the best, if not the best, BBQ spots I've hit in all of New England. It's the real deal: proper smoke, serious technique, and food that genuinely delivers on its reputation. I'll absolutely be back, and I'm bringing reinforcements next time. Highly, enthusiastically recommended.

I also ordered the 10pc honey garlic wings and to drink, a strawberry and a blueberry lemonade. Mac N Cheese - Very dry, not bad tasting but definitely not creamy like I'm used to and I'm from the south. Collard Greens - Great taste, but nothing stood out about them. Not Amazing, but not bad. Cabbage - Cooked to perfection. No complaints. Yams - Again, nothing special, not bad, but not great. Cornbread - Good! Nice and moist. Honey Garlic chicken - Nothing really bad to say. I did enjoy the amount of sauce and that the wings were fried hard like I typically order them. Flavored Lemonades were amazing! If I do go back, it will be for those. I ordered from Door Dash, so I did not go in the establishment or get to interact with the employees.

I had to tone it down and not order two meals for myself so instead ordered more appetizers.. Started with the Original Corn Dogs, Steamed Pork Dumplings , Spicy Edamame , and a small order of their advertised Honey Garlic Wings (beware that the wing options are at the front counter and not on the printed menu). The corn dogs were crispy with a thin style hotdog. The dumplings were flavored with herbs/spices and not just plain. The edamame was covered in what tasted like delicious pickled mildly spicy pimental peppers. The honey garlic wings came out hot, crispy and the sauce was finger-licking good. I was legit scraping the empty wing try with a spoon to savor the fresh garlicky/savory/sweet sauce. We both decided to dive into a Dumpling Kimchee Ramen.. Of course I added rice cakes and vegetables.. it came out steaming hot and def burned my mouth on it but it was worth it I've never had kimchi in my soup but I definitely enjoyed the flavor. The soup was stocky and came out with a nice size serving. I'll be back to try the Stonepot Bibimbop!
