Where to begin... service is lackluster at best. I ordered a classic mojito, had basically no rum in it. Gave up on the cocktails and went with a sprite instead, and it was completely flat. 3 week old tap tavern kitchen located across from Hilton Clearwater location. Centrally located to the beach, & you can just pass it walking down the side walk. Nice that it is dog friendly too. They stated their menu online is not quite all available yet since they are new and they provide you with a paper binder of burgers, salads, appetizers, and flatbread that they offer. They have local beers, wine, and cocktails. They also have a frozen machine with piña colada and margarita. We ordered a bbq flatbread which was ok, but of course no big deal because it's not like we tried anything out of the ordinary. Our server was eh. We visited Surfside on NYE for dinner, my 2 daughters, 17 and 19, and my 88 yo father. We wanted to be down by the beach so we could walk around after and later watch the fireworks. Both times I had a local IPA both times - on the recommendation from the bartender - Jai Alai IPA, Cigar City Brewing Co., Tampa, FL. He was spot on. We ordered some on the side and don't even know how you make watery thousand island. Bread fantastic. It came with house chips. Honestly tasted like a bunch of rocks! Careful you might break a tooth on these which would not be cool if you were here on vacation! Our friend got the fish n chips. This is more of a sports bar then a restaurant. Food is ok. The chowder was a little too thick for me. It was just a spoonful of glob. It was good flavor though. My fish fry was fried nicely but the fish had this sour taste that I couldn't make out which kind of killed the fish for me. The slaw that came with it looked good but tasted old almost as if it sat in the fridge a few days. The salmon was good flavor and cooked nice. Skin was nice and crispy. One word: WOOF! This would not be my Sunday breakfast recommendation, no matter if the hostess entices you with a free bloody mary/mimosa with a $9 purchase. Service: Slooooooooooooow. There were several times when my friend asked, "Where did our server go?" She was one of three working, and it wasn't busy in the slightest. I will note that when she did appear, she was kind and cordial, which is always appreciated. Further, it took a very long time for our food and mimosa to arrive. Given that we ordered oatmeal, eggs, bacon, and toast...something seemed off in the kitchen. Food: Mediocre. My oatmeal, which was cooked properly, came with "seasonal fruit", which actually means canned mandarin oranges. For crying out loud, we're in Florida! I recommend getting the Mozzarella sticks- they were big in size (comes with 4) and cooked perfectly (oozing cheese). The seafood platter was rather large after eating 2/4 mozzarella sticks. Comes with shrimp, scallops, and white fish. I'm giving it 4/5 stars because the server did bring us fried scallops with the seafood platter when I asked for blackened and shrimp tacos without the guacamole... which, we ate and didn't send back and was still good. I ordered the morning after burger with NO BACON and what did it come with bacon, there was bacon bits within the hash browns so I couldn't even eat those either. There fries were alright but a little under salted for my taste. Although my food wasn't the greatest they have a really sweet staff I picked up the food so I couldn't send my food back and get the correct order but the rest of my family said there food was good. Yesterday, Sunday, we had a lovely blonde wait on us at the bar. She was about to depart on vacation. She was great! Her service was great! Our Cuban sandwich was great! Cut to today. We stopped back in to get a drink and a snack. Our excitement was immediately killed by the A-D-D Jersey Shore bartender who was putting all attention in a couple of girls and ignoring everyone at the bar. He never offered a menu and eventually I had to flag him down for one and he finally gave me one. When we decided what we wanted, I stared at him forever and he never looked at me so we could give our order. After 15 minutes of zero contact, we decided to head to another place. The restaurant however did not have the order ready. No biggie, the driver waited & I gave her a few extra bucks for doing so. The food was good but, not prepared according to their own descriptions on their menu. First off, we ordered Buffalo cauliflower. It was dry, they forgot to toss it in Buffalo sauce! They also failed to include the dressing for dipping. Thankfully, I have lots of hot sauces at home. I was able to fix it. Then, our burgers, the flavors were really good. I enjoyed the charbroiled edges. We ordered a surfside basic burger. This burger is advertised as having "applewood smoked bacon" it not only had no bacon, it was also missing pickles. The stay classy burgundy burger was very good. We also paid $2 each to upgrade our sides from coleslaw to crinkle cut fries. This made the burgers $17. We each had just a few fries. It was almost like they forgot to drop fries and scraped together the few remaining old fries. It was not worth the price. Overall, the food is delicious. They just need to train the staff as to what goes into their menu items. Their menu is a lot bigger than I expected when we walked in for lunch. We were seated right away and Tara was quick in getting in our orders. I love that they have TVs all over it was easy for our group to watch the start of NBA playoffs from all sides of the table. And they play multiple stations as well so I was watching MLB as well! I give this place 3 stars mainly because of how bad and over priced the burger was. Very dry, over cooked, and bland. If your going to charge $14 for a burger at least throw some fries in with it... the zzzangers meltdown was excellent, very tender juicy chicken, would recommend. Also tried out the lobster corn dogs, they were decent, basically tasted like a deviled crab stuffed corn dog, probably would not re-order though.
