This was my best experience at all the sushi ai's (St. Charles is a close second) and they have more options for rolls than the others than we have ever seen. It was clean and fast and the food tasted fresh. Can't go wrong with any of the rolls.

salad with ginger dressing and Miso Soup

Hands down, THEE most efficient service in St. Louis! We were a reunion party of four during happy hour and boy were we happy. Our 4th was running late, but they happily served us while we waited. I chose the standard all you can eat which was $14.99. I'm a planner and everything I wanted to order individually would've been $20 so whoohoo! * miso soup * salad w ginger dressing * shrimp tempura roll * yamasa roll After each plate was finished, it was cleared from our table straight away, but not as though they were hovering. Our water glasses never got close to empty, but always filled to the brim. Once our 4th person arrived, she was served right away and this was all during a FULL HOUSE. This type of service does not go unnoticed or un-praised. Every restaurant wishes to have this type of flow and efficiency, but fall short more often than not. The best first experience at this location. A breath of fresh air and a full happy stomach. You've created a new, loyal customer.

Vegetable Hibachi Fried Rice no eggs, no mushrooms
Tigra C.

It was fine. DD wanted sushi and we were nearby so we ended up here. I ordered the miso soup and a modified vegetable hibachi fried rice entree. Miso Soup - your basic vegan-friendly miso. Mine was served lukewarm. Could've been warmer, could've been tastier. Vegetable Hibachi Fried Rice - Vegan-friendly when you omit the eggs. I also omitted the mushrooms. I have loved hibachi fried rice since I was a child. It has a slightly sweeter taste than Chinese-inspired-in-America fried rice. And I typically enjoy Sushi AI's veggie fried rice, but something was off and missing in this location's version. I inquired about chili oil and the waitress said they had sriracha. I politely asked her to check again because I just couldn't fathom there not being any chili oil in this restaurant. Chili oil appeared and saved my rice dish. I practically used the whole bottle but the rice was delicious as a result. DD got the all you can sushi dinner for around $24. (I honestly think this is the only reason she insists on Sushi Ai when she craves sushi.) She enjoyed her food but thought it took too long between orders. She'd fill out her sushi order sheet and it'd be a while before anyone came to retrieve it from the table's end. She also ordered a plum wine, which she raved about how deliciously sweet it tasted. REMINDER RE ALL YOU CAN EAT: If you don't eat everything on your plate they WILL charge you extra (yes, even if you try to throw it away). Personally, I like this "no waste" approach. So just keep this in mind if your eyes are typically bigger than your stomach. We both agreed service left a little to be desired. No water refills. Awkward exchanges and looks. And DD's biggest pet peeve: staff doubting she's old enough to drink, so they always think her ID is fake. (I keep telling her she'll take it as a compliment one day!) There are at least half dozen Sushi Ai's around the STL metro area. I'm not sure if they're independently owned or not, but the menus are pretty much identical at all of them that we've visited (which now totals 6). This one is one of the newer locations, situated in the Valley (Chesterfield), directly across the parking lot from the movie theater. You'll spot it from the main road.

Crazy Tuna Roll, Saint Louis Roll, Snow White

This is a relatively new find for us. This is our 4th time there. We were there tonight and 6:50 pm and it was packed. Luckily we got the last table. The presentation of every order is beautiful. We tried the Snow White roll, the Saint Louis roll, Crazy Crab Roll, Shrimp Tempura, Pop Up, Volcano Roll, house salad (the ginger dressing was wonderful, full of flavor) and crab Rangoon's. My 4 vs 5 was that I found a hair on my plate as soon as it was set down. I assume it was from a waitress as everyone preparing the sushi had hair covering on. I also thought that a few of the roles had a little too much rice, and just felt like there was a little more rice than was needed. Everything on the inside was definitely sufficient though. We will definitely go again, but I will certainly check my food more carefully before eating.

My brother and I stopped by Sushi Ai in Chesterfield on a Saturday around 1:30pm. Although there are lots of sushi ai restaurants around St. Louis, we recently discovered this one and really enjoy it more than the other two we've been to. A few things are different here-- the menu has a standard a premium option, with the premium being a bit more expensive than the standard lunch fare, but there are a lot more options in terms of rolls and appetizers. The restaurant does lunch prices Tues-Sat (closed Monday, all day dinner on Sunday). We were seated relatively quickly but service was a tad slower than I would normally expect. Nevertheless, the restaurant had ample seating and many of the other patrons were enjoying the AYCE as well. We each ordered three rolls and especially enjoyed the Sunset Tokyo roll, as well as the broccoli in the vegetable tempura. Unlike the other locations, the gyoza is fried here but the filling was nicely flavorful with pork, cabbage and a few glass noodles as well. The quantity of food for the price is something that I really appreciate, and I would say the quality of this sushi ai is better than the others we've been to. Not necessarily coast-level or gourmet sushi, but an overall great value for the meal. We enjoyed our experience and will plan to be back in a few months once the sushi coma is over!

We've gone to the different locations of Sushi Ai and this one (Chesterfield) is our favourite! The staff and service are always great. Food is obviously amazing. Price is also reasonable. They have a big menu so you get options. My favourite items are their unstoppable roll and yummy roll. Their spicy miso soup is a must too!

Ive ordered takeout on several occasions and the food and service has been consistently excellent. The hibachi entrees come with tons of food including miso soup and salad.

Their lunch deal is the best! 3 rolls for $12! We truly loved the sushi rolls we got, and had some to take home too!

Every thing I ate was fresh and was delicious. I had 12 piece sashimi and two rolls. Prices are great.

Tonight was a good night for family sushi night at Ninja…read more Our waitress was very helpful, and thorough, making sure the items we ordered had no gluten... apparently some of the eel and other fish might be marinated in sauces that might have gluten. Ninja does have gluten-free soy sauce, but you'll likely not want much soy sauce because you won't want it hiding the great flavors of Ninja's sushi. Tonight we enjoyed a variety of rolls, most chef's choice: - Kimi roll - Philly roll - Sumo roll - Salmon avocado - Dynamite (no crunch) - two... not one, but two Golden Dragon rolls... with curved slices of mango on top and a fantastic mango sauce Our waitress was intent to find a gluten free sauce for us and provided a combo sauce - half pink / half darker color (unsure the actual flavor but it was good). Before tonight, we have known that Ninja has the cook-at-your-table hibachi grill but we've only ever enjoyed their sushi. Tonight... I ventured to their hot food. I didn't have much to eat earlier in the day, so I ordered a side of shrimp fried rice and I'm very glad I did... great flavors egg and onions, and fantastic rice unto itself. Thank you, Nan

I didn't realize that they shut down at the end of lunch and open back up for dinner. With that being said they didn't rush me or make me feel uncomfortable. I wanted to be seated at a habachi table. I didn't know that it was only available for dinner. They still will prepare habachi for you but only in the back. The combination of steak and chicken habachi is delicious. The clear soup was very good. The salad with ginger dressing was excellent. The chicken lomein was great too. The price was very good. There is plenty of parking in this strip mall. I love the atmosphere. I would love to come back for dinner.

Inside, you're greeted with a handwritten sign telling you not to stay longer than two hours. (See photo.) This seems like an issue staff could deal with in a more tactful way. My friend had a large order that looked amazing. She planned to take leftovers home. I ordered just one thing, but it was delicious. The crunch on top added the perfect texture to the rolls. I'll be going back and trying more things. By the way, we stayed more than two hours chatting. No one said anything to us, but there were plenty of empty tables so it wasn't an issue.

How this place has 4 stars I'll never understand…read more They're serving up a fast food version of Sushi here that, while cheap, is very low grade (worse than the pre assembled stuff you can grab at the grocery store). Substandard ingredients like fake krab and low quality fish just really turned us off. Rolls that should be chilled were room temp; so much so I was hesitant to eat it. Hubs roughed it out tho. He said the tuna had a funky, fishy taste and lacked that smooth, melt in your mouth texture that excellent sushi has. The rolls were so poorly prepared they just fell apart when we tried to pick them up. Sweet potatoes were raw. They did have GF tamari tho which I appreciated. The only bright spot was our server Kenny. She was super knowledgeable about food allergies and was friendly & upbeat. The grumpy barracuda working the front desk though, not so much. If you don't want to work with people please just stay home. Sorry but this is a one and done for us. We won't be back. served

We went this past week for my husband's birthday, and we had a wonderful experience. We were welcomed immediately upon arrival and sat. We ordered our drinks and received them quickly and then began to review the menu and try to pick out our favorites. My husband and I always go for the edamame as well as crab rangoon because why not? We each ordered a few rolls and all the flavors were fantastic, the presentation was beautiful, and the whole experience itself was perfect. Definitely would go back to this location and highly recommend others to go as well. Order the edamame with the addition of spicy & garlic - does not disappoint. I loved the Manhattan Roll, perfect blend of flavors and slight heat. My husband really enjoyed the Alaska and Fried Philly Roll. Service was top notch, much larger location than St Charles and there are options for lunch, happy hour and specialty items for all kinds of occasions.
