I ordered for pick up after one of my friends recommended it to me and boy, the fish was very fresh and it was at an affordable price! They are not on any food delivery apps yet but there's a lot of parking in the area if you want to drop in for a meal or pick up. My fiancé and I stopped by for a Sunday lunch and we did the party tray D (cash only). We opted for the angry bird roll, Toro scallion and it did not disappoint. It was so good we came back with our friends to get their omakase and we had a good time, eating and drinking the night away. The uni toast, botan ebi, tuna and Toro was my favorite! Cheers to the Chef!

Just updating the menu pics here. Prices went up. The rolls are still delicious though. And the staff is very friendly.

Sushi Akio has always been a solid sushi place when I'm having cravings and I always find myself ordering their lunch specials (every day until 4pm) from time to time. Currently it's around $14 for 3 rolls (with your choice of soup or salad), but I still think it's a decent price compared to other places. My go-to rolls are the Alaskan roll, eel avocado, and yellowtail. I usually get takeout more often than eating in because it's a small spot that can get busy. I've ordered from them over the course of many years and the food and service has been pretty consistent, as well.

Quick lunch date with my bae. Not a fancy restaurant but fixed my sushi craving. The portion is quite small to the price we paid. Sashimi regular costs 21$ for 10 pieces but very small cut. We also ordered kani salad and shrimp tempura. All the portions are small even though the food is okay. We might consider to go back again.

Wanted to get quick sushi take out to celebrate a fam members' birthday but didn't want to dine out at an AYCE spot. Sushi wasn't WOW but also wasn't bad. Total for about 9 rolls (mix of regular, fancy, and deluxe) and 2 sushi Deluxe boxes came out to around $170. The fish didn't taste exactly fresh but also we were glad no one got sick after the meal. The pieces however were very inconsistent in size and some of the color of the fish was off?? The sushi pieces however in the sushi Deluxe was prob the best part esp that toro piece.

Another visit to my favorite sushi spot in Queens... Excellent omakase ... I will once again let the pictures speak for themselves...

I have been here a few times since the summer began and I must say even though Steven is away on vacation his staff took great pride and care in delivering tasty sushi as usual. I ordered some of the specials of the day which were California Uni, Chu Toro, and Sweet Shrimp. The chef gave me a complimentary special of the mango salad and I was thoroughly pleased very sweet and juicy mango titillating the taste buds yummy! I also really enjoyed the special sauce they put on the scallop roll reminds me of the Marilyn Monroll Yasu used to make at his spot wow! The eel was tasty as well and fatty just the way I like it with the just the right amount of eel sauce. The miso soup was hot as usual and the green tea smooth way to swallow it all down. All in all had a great time with great service and food to match. I highly recommend this place hopefully they will add Omakase to the menu one day eventually. I'm looking forward to my next visit to see what they have in store. I highly recommend this place for dining in or takeout they also offer delivery as well enjoy! See pictures below of my spread.

For Omakase of $70, this is highly recommended. It doesn't come with very fancy or rare fish. But the quality of fish is fresh and you will have you pay over $150-$200 if eating in Manhattan. I would highly recommend to try it if you don't want to go to Manhattan. so far Locally in forest hills, it's the BEST priced and quality Omakase.

Such a good deal for their omakase for $70, especially if you need that sushi fix but you too lazy go to into the city. Reasonable pricing with decent portions. The sushi tasted fresh - nothing too fancy but just about right!

    Soft Shell Crab Tempura.
    Glenn V.

An early dinner bell wrang out the tune of 'Its Too Early to Hit the Sake', so I opted for green tea instead and unlike the Sake, refills are free. Soft Shelled Crab Tempura sounded good in theory, but one little crab atop a mountain of crispy fried vegetable clearly did not seem like enough, he needed a friend. Crazy Spicy Tuna Roll, perhaps in screwing up the title a smidge, had a pale pinkish tuna slab, considerably thick but pale pinkish, I wanted magenta, mauve and fuschia. Spider Roll was a bit of a bore as the spiders legs tasted similar to the legs of my little crabby from the prior dish. Why I always need to order an Eel related item? Its actually a very logical reason but too nostalgic for the purposes of my review.

    Dinner - 3 rolls at a total of $17
    Shelley L.

While I have read many reviews that the sushi is fresh, I've witnessed firsthand their presentation certainly lacks. I tried the new Bamboo Ya before Sushi Akio and thought Bamboo Ya was highly priced but their sushi was fresh and presentation was fantastic, as well as large rolls...so felt like I got my money's worth. Ordered three rolls for $17 here. Eel avocado, spicy salmon and salmon avocado. My husband said the fish was fresh but the pieces of the roll were disappointing. They look like it was made by me rather than a professional. Uneven, lacking fish in certain pieces. You can see it in my picture of how the pieces varied greatly. There was one piece where it was so sad, there was barely any fish in it! While it is fresh, I prefer to have my sushi rolls be more consistent throughout. I would go here because it's closer when I want to have it but don't mind trekking out to Austin Street if it's the same price. Also gave us the tiniest piece of wasabi. Not enough to share for two people. Perhaps they are better known for omakase than roll specialty which I can certainly respect!

An Unforgettable Omakase Experience!…read more We celebrated the 4th of July with an incredible omakase dinner at Masaki, and it exceeded every expectation. Every course was beautifully presented, impeccably fresh, and perfectly balanced. From the delicate Red Sea Bream and buttery Scallop to the luxurious Toro with Caviar, Sweet Shrimp with Uni, and the unforgettable Eel with Foie Gras, each bite was a masterpiece. What truly elevated the evening was Michael, our sushi chef. He was warm, engaging, and exceptionally knowledgeable. He took the time to explain every course, the origin of the fish, the flavors, and the best way to enjoy each piece. His passion for his craft was evident, and his attention to detail made the entire experience feel personal and memorable. Dining at the sushi bar gave us a front-row seat to watch the artistry behind every piece. The quality of the ingredients, the precision of the preparation, and the genuine hospitality made this one of the finest omakase experiences we've ever had. Thank you, Michael, and the entire Masaki team, for making our holiday celebration so special. We can't wait to return for another unforgettable evening!

I honestly wasn't expecting much but the service based solely for the Omakase blew me away. The Omakase bar was in the back of the restaurant hidden away. The space was very open and the ambience was chic. This is a great place for date night, mommy night out, or group hangouts as they have private rooms too. Every piece tasted very fresh and were quite unique. The steam silky egg appetizer with crabmeat and fish roe was simple yet delicious. One of the dishes was an uni toro roll that was placed on top of our hands and was sprayed with edible gold glitter on us. That was a surprise and it was cute. And that uni just melts in your mouth. We had this matcha pudding with I think had an Oreo sprinkle in it was fabulous. They also surprised us with an extra dessert cause it was all 3 of our birthdays. Very enjoyable experience. Our sushi chef was very accommodating and made our birthday dinner memorable. We originally started out with the summer special of $78pp for a 12 course meal and decided to upgrade to the 14 course meal for $98pp. There was an option for a 17 course meal for $138pp but we were very full towards the end. They also had this $30 lunch and $60 dinner 3 course meal set for restaurant week. My friend's mom wasn't a fan of raw stuff so she ordered the Chilean sea bass with risotto and she wasn't a huge fan of it. The fish was a tad overcooked and the overall presentation of the dish looked more of a Chinese fusion dish. The risotto had that cheesy flavor but the presentation with the Bok Choy and the risotto looked more like fried rice and was confusing. I would stick with the omakase, which this place is known for.

But at last, as I searched on DoorDash I stumbled upon this glorious restaurant they call Izakaya Fuku. I was drawn to the adorable names for their sushi roll dishes like "Strawberry Fields" and their Italian Japanese fusion pasta dishes, "Creamy Mentaiko Bacon Pasta" with creamy mayonnaise, spicy cod roe and bacon like are you kidding me? It's a bummer I wasn't more hunger or that I didn't have more bucks in my wallet because I wanted all these dishes. And the Chirashi Don, god it looks so beautiful the way that it's arranged in the photos online. I finally decided on the carbonara. And I was drawn to the fact that it was udon based. Now, I've just been living in hawaii these past years so that Japanese twist on an Italian dish that I just love oh so much really brought me back to missing the islands and the Asian spins they had on cuisines. Now my food may have not come in a jiffy but for after midnight cravings I'd say it was well worth the wait. And my oh my the portion was huge!!!! I slurped that big boy up. We got a variety of dishes to share, starting with the Yakitori platter. For $19.99, you can choose 5 skewers from the a la carte selections (except for the pricier seafood skewers). They were grilled and seasoned well. I really liked the Fried Kaki (aka kaki fry, fried oysters). The breaded oysters were tender, fresh & juicy. We also shared Chicken Yakiudon, Yakiniku Don & Pork Katsu Don. The yakiudon was very good and the katsu was crispy and generously sized. I did not like the sauce on the beef in yakiniku don. The texture tasted strange. I'll try the gyudon next time. There are a lot of restaurants on this block with a variety of ethnic cuisines and I would make Wafuu a regular spot when we come to Forest Hills.

The prices on the windows are very confusing and more like false advertising for me, the lower prices are for the members which we're not since this is our first time and definitely our last, unless our daughter wants to come here again. So the price is the more expensive one. For me, I prefer straight forward pricing, so this didn't give me good vibes, it's not the money, just the way they advertising and we have to know what we can only have with the price we chose. The restaurant just gives us the specific menu for what we selected to have then we don't have to be denied for what we chose because we selected gold instead of top of the line menu. The place is clean and nice. For $78/per person and only have Australian Wagyu Beef (not really Wagyu) then it's over priced. We did have some premium beef which I liked because of the marble of fat on the beef quite tender and tasty, but only a sampler or whatever they called it. Service with one person is quite inadequate but she's very attentive and pleasant, since she had to run the whole restaurant, sometimes forgets things. The tomato broth was good and everyone liked it. The seafood plate is OK and our sweet shrimps are sweet. Some snow crab legs, jumbo shrimps, fish fillets, nothing to make me go wow. The appetizers tempura is crispy and good. The raw octopus is tasty. The vegetables are fresh and clean. After they denied me the premium beef sampler, I let my daughter to order everything else and I just enjoyed with the family. My daughter seemed to be happy and ate a lot, so I was happy. I've eaten enough shabu, hot pot to know that Australian or American Wagyu are overrated, many of them are tough and chewy, not as tender as normal ribeyes or Brisket that I like. This restaurant Wagyu beef does have marbles of fat in it, so it's tender and not so chewy. So, for the GOLD menu, I don't think it's worth the $78 but for special occasions, it's OK. I just don't like the confusion of many menu, many prices, and not getting my own menu and get denied for something on the menu because I didn't pay enough.
