They have the music a bit loud but not something that's a deal breaker for me. They could turn it down a bit and the video would still work. Reyan was our waitress this time. She was nice and friendly but got our order wrong (maybe turn down the music some for that too would help) she had to lean in to hear us and we even pointed out on the menu. Still wrong. Other than that she was fast and attentive. Food is good. The sushi is fresh. I would definitely add extra toppings options to the ramen like bamboo shoots, nori, Shiraga Negi, Kikurage, and such. Disclaimer, I ordered via DoorDash. Outside of that, since this was my first time trying this place I got the Philadelphia Roll (I base my criticism off this roll for all sushi spots). I also ordered the snow crab roll and the mango crepe cake. Everything ordered was delicious. The salmon was soft and the perfect balance of fatty to meat. The crab meat was a good combination of spices to meat ratio. My favorite part was the crepe cake. This surprised me in the best way. It is not sweet (overly or super sweet) but the textures and flavors worked very well together. I will definitely be ordering again to try other items. Sushi 88 isn't the best sushi place in town, but I honestly don't have any complaints about the food. The only thing I will say is that they seem to take quite a bit to bring your dishes out, and one of the people at our table ended up waiting 20 minutes while we were all already eating before they received their food. Most of their special sushi rolls are tempura based, so keep that in mind. Here's what I tried: -Rainbow Roll: 8/10 - delicious, topped with fresh fish and rich avocado, and the crunch inside adds great texture. I would just love for there to be a spicy mayo on top or something just to add a little touch. -Chicken Teriyaki Entree: 8/10 - This is a LOT of food! It comes with gyoza, soup, and rice, and the chicken itself is your standard Teriyaki entree. Again, it's nothing mind-blowing but it's what you expect, though still on the expensive end even considering everything you get with it. -Chicken Katsu Ramen: 8/10 - Pretty big portion, comes with an egg that was just slightly runny, lots of delicious noodles, some Bok Choy, and the crispy chicken katsu. The chicken was a bit thin and not the most flavorful, but it was very crispy. The broth was warm and salty, just not the deepest flavor, but that's expected with normal broth ramen. It's a good meal, and I didn't have any complaints, but wouldn't necessarily go running back either. I know my friends have also enjoyed their miso soup and salad as cheap appetizers, and their minecraft roll. I think this is your average, middle of the road Sushi and stir fry restaurant. The service is okay, not stellar, and the prices are on the steeper end as with any sushi place. But it works, and the menu is really big so you'll definitely find something you like. read more

The restaurant is NOT "ALL You Can Eat Sushi". I had a paradise roll and a rainbow roll. My husband had sushi combo "D". The dumplings were very good and the miso was flavorful. I felt that our meal was pricy at $70 for two people in a commercial style cafe with minimal decor and stainless furniture. We will most likely not return because I felt like this restaurant is pulling a bait and switch by advertising "All You can eat" then when the consumer arrives they find out this is not an "All you can eat" sushi restaurant. I come to Nashville every few weeks for work or leisure, and I have started a habit of stopping at Sushi 88. They have great outdoor seating and the ambiance is very stress free and calming. The service has always been good, with no complaints at all. They even will modify the dishes if you have an allergy or simply don't like onions in your rice. The food itself was some of the best fried rice I think I've ever had, it tasted authentically Japanese, and two of my friends thoroughly agreed. Not to mention how clean and well made everything was, even the bathrooms were extremely clean! My favorite time to eat there is in the summer rains. Sitting on their front porch with a tea and some fried rice is a very calming experience. Not to mention Dragon Park is right down the road from it! My only complaint lies with the city of Nashville and the traffic and parking to get there, but sushi 88 can't change that! read more

There's nothing there that I would go out of my way to have. Tempura was mediocre, salad was good, spring rolls were fine, sushi wasn't bad. Overall I'd give the place a 3.5 BUT The service was absolutely horrendous. We ordered, got our food sporadically, when we were done we waited. And waited. And waited. Until we got someone's attention for a second menu. Same thing happened then as well. We weren't ordering the whole menu at a time because 1. we don't want to waste food and 2. they charge you for left over food. So it's not like we were eating them out of house and home when we ordered. They finally won in the end because I was sick of waiting for service. THE STAFF ACTED LIKE THE CUSTOMERS WERE A HASSLE TO THEM. THEY ACTED PUT OUT! What a crappy way to be, none of the three ladies there even acted like they cared. Ok so let me start this with saying, with all the bad reviews I was so hesitant to come here. It just so happened to be the only place open and they were dead set on sushi , so here we came. Being so hesitant I was so nervous about the raw fish because it was so hot in there as many other reviewers previous had stated. We ordered water and 2 Sprites. The Sprite came in a bottle which to me seems a little eh considering there's no such thing as refills, you just have to get another bottle but if that's how they operate oh well. We got 3 rolls, one spicy salmon, one spicy tuna, and crab roll that my friend sort of created. The crab roll was good we actually got another one. So overall the sushi itself was cool! No complaints that way. The complaints start with dun dun dunnn the service. Like many reviews before me have stated. They do close at 10. We got there at 8:55 ish. There were four other tables. One really big one. And some smaller ones. The first two men that took our order, brought our food out, they were great. There was a woman though that clearly wanted us to leave. She brought the check, when we weren't even done eating, then proceeded to come back around and ask "have you paid yet?" when we clearly had not even touched the check book, it was right where we left it. Then they started mopping the floor with bleach directly in front of us. It was so strong it literally ran us of out there which probably was their intent. I mean it worked. Although the food is pretty good and they offer an all-you-can-eat option, my experience fell short of my expectations. -Food: fresh fish and good presentation. The server absentmindedly waived in the direction of the bar and didn't bring me a menu or water. I sat there and then finally walked over to the counter and picked up my own menu. When he finally came over he didn't look apologetic or like he realized that he hadn't been over at all. It looked like he was the only server on staff for the whole restaurant and it definitely wasn't cutting it. I had to ask a different lady for my check since he never came back after he brought my food. Unless they hire more people or get better management I wouldn't want to return here. This is my second time dining in for dinner in the last week because the pho is so good! However, the customer service was horrible both times. We were serviced by the same waitress both times and was very disappointed by her unprofessionalism. She made an error taking down my order after I clearly communicated and clarified what I wanted and when brought to her attention she did not take accountability and proceeded to advise me on how to place my order when I verified with her 3x that she took it down correctly. THE FOLLOWING MORNING THE MANAGER CALLED ME, ACKNOWLEDGED MY EXPERIENCE, APOLOGIZED AND INFORMED ME HE HAD ADDRESSED THE ISSUE. I sat on this review since the 29th of July. Before writing it, I wanted to get some things cleared up so I had accurate information and I had justifiable cause to write it. Chefs in Davidson County are required to wear face masks when preparing your food. This coming directly from the Mayor's office and I have attached the screenshot for confirmation via a Facebook message. I decided to come here for dinner and grab some food for takeaway. They have their covered patio for where people can stand and place orders through a plexy glass covering that engulfs an entire wall. They have menus outside for you look at before placing your order. Currently, the do not do dine-in. initially when placing my order for a chicken bento box that I paid for in total $26.93 before my $4.00 tip, I did not notice that the sushi chefs were not wearing masks. It was about 7 minutes after the fact that I noticed they weren't. I approached the window and asked the man who had taken my money if he could cancel my order and give me a refund. He said he was not going to give me a refund as the food was already being made. He offered a discount. I said I wanted a refund. I expressed that I did not feel comfortable eating the food that was being made because of their lack of masks. The man who I was speaking to was the assistant manager, Lucas. Lucas went back and forth with me on the matter. He said he was giving his employees a break from wearing the masks since they were not in contact with customers. If you are preparing my food, I expect all employees to wear masks if you are working in the restaurant. Lucas and his female colleague also pulled down their masks when they were not at the window handing out food. He took down his mask when he was handling my credit card. The female was not wearing her mask when she was putting food in the bags along with the plastic eating utensils. Lucas was saying he didn't want to put his family in danger and did not feel he was doing so by letting his employees not war masks. I sat there for a moment and just let my food be there. I was boiling with outrage and frustration. Before leaving, Lucas brought his phone up to the plexy glass to show me that there was no information on the News 5 covid-19 Davidson County guidelines. He kept reiterating that we are not on Broadway and that they are taking abundance of caution. Well, I do not agree that you were. I contacted the Nashville Health Department and put in a complaint about Sushi 88 not being in compliance. When I explained to them what had happened, the gentleman who works directly with the health department agreed that they were in violation. The rule is that if you are working solo without being in contact with others, you do not have to wear a mask. In this case, you have 2 sushi chefs not wearing masks standing next to one another preparing meals. You had 2 other employees who were not wearing their masks when preparing the food to wrap up and give it to the customers. The man put his mask on when he approached the window when in contact with the customer. This is a moot point if you are not wearing a mask at any other point. The health department told that they were going to open an investigation and after that point would not be able to tell me any updates. That is understood. I just hope whatever happens that it straightens out the restaurant and that they start to adhere to the guidelines. That is my hope. I will not be returning. read more

Been here twice for the all you can eat sushi and it's pretty good! It's obviously not going to be top notch fancy restaurant sushi but for the price and the amount of sushi you can get it's very good! I enjoyed the rolls we ordered and felt like the quality of sushi was good. I would recommend going with a group so you can have more variety in what you try.
