I recommend making a reservation if possible. Even with one, we still waited about 15 minutes to be seated. We were placed in the lower-level dining area, which we didn't mind at all--it had a great atmosphere with a live band performing until 10 PM. Our server (I apologize for forgetting her name) was excellent--friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. For food, we ordered the seafood tower (The Big Eddie), crab fried rice, and Chilean sea bass. Everything was outstanding--fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. For drinks, we had the Hope Diamond and a tequila soda. The Hope Diamond was especially good, and our server even shared the ingredients so we could recreate it at home. The ambiance is elegant with a lively energy, thanks to the live music. If you're looking for a quieter, more intimate experience, I'd recommend requesting upstairs seating. Eddie V's Prime Seafood is one of the most respectable upscale restaurants in the city, and the food lives up to the hype! As their name implies, their seafood is fantastic, probably the best in the entire city! They have a policy that every seafood served at Eddie V's was alive in the ocean less than 36 hours prior! Anything left over is donated, which is impressive! And you can taste its incredible freshness throughout the meal! There are only 30 locations of Eddie V's in 15 states, but the quality is hardly reminiscent of chain restaurant food. It's truly exquisite! And we have very high standard having dined at Michelin-starred eateries all over the world. The scallops, lobster, and lobster bisque are easily the best in Nashville, and we've dined at every high-class restaurant Music City has to offer! The butter poached lobster mashed potatoes are incredible, extra creamy topped with buttery lobster and a beurre blanc sauce. The truffle mac is equally stupendous, with a three-cheese blend, truffle oil, and thinly shaved truffles imported from France! While most upscale restaurants tend to make a very strong truffle mac that has overpowering flavors, the chef at Eddie V's manages to make this, and all dishes, subtle and flavorful without overdoing it. Just as amazing as the seafood are the steaks. Since they had a Japanese A5 Wagyu in the building at $40 an ounce, something they don't have every night, I took advantage of that! As expected, the highest grade of Japanese beef did not disappoint, and the chef prepared it to perfection. That impossibly tender steak seasoned beautifully just meted in my mouth, probably the second best steak I've eaten in Nashville! The ponzu sauce, one of three that accompanied the steak, was delicious. The Korean inspired gochujang was also good, but maybe not perfect for this style of steak. But the wasabi paste was the winner, a perfect compliment to the beef without being very spicy, just wonderfully flavorful. Like all dishes here, they've impeccably balanced flavor with subtly! I visited with a group of six and highly recommend making a reservation in advance. The restaurant spans two stories, featuring live music on the first floor and an impressive wine display that immediately catches your eye and sets the tone for the evening. I also recommend taking advantage of the valet service -- they validate parking, which saves both time and the hassle (and expense) of downtown parking. We had reservations at 6:00. We got seated right away. Kyle was our waiter. He started off strong, but then got busy with the other tables. All of the dishes were very good, except for the asparagus, which my husband said was a little bit too salty. The bread that was served before our appetizers was amazing! It had some kind of salted butter with it, and it was simply decadent. My salmon was cooked to perfection and so was my husband's steak. The scallops were my favorite dish. I was just in the mood for a nice dinner after work in Nashville and just randomly walked into the restaurant. I sat at the bar and there were maybe 5-6 other patrons and they had live music. The service here is always top notch and that's probably the case at a restaurant of this caliber, no matter which city you go to. I ordered a gin cocktail and a sashimi appetizer. They brought out bread service which was very good. However my sashimi was not good and I only took one bite out of it because it tasted very fishy. For my main I had a beautiful Seabass in a light Japanese style brought and a side of their crab fried rice. These dishes were absolutely amazing. I ended with an espresso martini and overall it was a great dinner. I'm not sure what happened to that sashimi, but at some point I'll try it again. I celebrated my birthday with a group of nine over Labor Day weekend, and it was incredible. Our server, Kasey, was phenomenal! Even though he was attending to three or four other large parties, he took excellent care of me and my guests. He was incredibly attentive, made great recommendations, and--most impressively--remembered and pronounced my name correctly every time. We indulged in oysters (my first time!), crab cakes, parmesan-crusted sole, bone-in ribeye, crab fried rice, scallops, filet mignon, ahi tuna, lamb chops, and more. The place next door I wanted to try out was reserved for a private party. Eddie V's was the next best thing, though I had not planned on seafood during my business trip. I was wrong to dismiss it as a good choice! I arrived during the last hour of happy hour but decided to request a table since I had to do some work that I didn't want to take back to my hotel room. Shelby was my server and she recommended the Acquisition Cabernet from the happy hour menu. It was a nice treat after a long day. After looking at the menu I decided that I was going to take a chance with the seafood. The oysters came in different varieties and weren't labeled "oysters" on the menu. That was the first sign that this place likely knew what it was doing. I decided to try the West Coast Olympic View. As advertised the watermelon tasting notes came through. The oysters also came with not just lemon slices but 3 sauces. The Champagne Migonette was my favorite. Oysters were a winner. For the main I decided to go with the 10 oz Filet and South African Lobster Tail. I had originally only planned on steak but I couldn't say no to the South African lobster. The steak was cooked to perfection and the lobster tail was both sweet and savory. Another winner. Finally, I tried their Belgian Chocolate Cake. Probably the best dessert I had in Nashville during my stay. I decided to try a different place on my last night in Nashville. I regret that because it was good but nowhere I tried was as good as Eddie V's. read more

I've had Wagyu several times, and honestly I tend to be underwhelmed for what you tend to pay. Here, though, I wish we'd ordered more.
