Sushi Cafe is a cozy, unassuming spot tucked into the corner of a North Ocean City shopping center. Their hours are short and they're always busy, so make a reservation or we call and order carryout at least 60-90 minutes before you want to eat. Don't be discouraged, it's worth it!!! The sushi is absolutely delicious and my #1 favorite sushi spot in Ocean City!!! I'm a sushi lover and have tired all the sushi restaurants in town and it doesn't matter where I'm staying south in downtown or even in Bethany Beach I go to sushi cafe at least once (if not twice during a week's vacation). The fish and seafood is so fresh, rolls are well balanced between protein/rice and sauce and the size of the rolls are perfect sized bite! If you love spicy, their deep fried spicy pickles are like no other - get 2 orders, you'll thank me later. My fiancé and I order 6 rolls to share and it is plenty! Great specialty rolls, all 8 we tried were delicious, fresh, flavorful, well balanced and priced appropriately. I eat sushi often in my travels and they deserve their 5 star rating. Wish this place was local to me because I'd be a regular! We ate in and the service was good too. They obviously do a lot of takeout as the seating is limited, but very nice chairs/tables/dishwater etc and well kept and clean. I'm sure the rolls are just as tasty in another setting and I'd consider to go in the future too. High quality and tasty but not priced so high you feel your giving up half the experience/value by taking it to go. Will be back when we are in the area again even if staying to the south, worth going a little out of your way. read more

The food far exceeded our expectations for a strip mall sushi joint. Fried gyoza was outrageous! Sushi very fresh and unique as it incorporated blue crab into several sushi offerings. Highly recommend to any sushi lovers visiting the area. read more

We ate at Sushi Cafe for the first time this evening. It's a cute little restaurant that has excellent sushi! The service is great, and they make you feel like part of the family. Amazing sushi which we were so surprised to find in OC, MD. We ordered a delicious meal for myself, wife, and kids. I thought the price was extremely fair considering the amount of food we received. I didn't realize that the Maki Combo and Spicy Maki Combo come with a choice of soup or salad, so that was a wonderful surprise! I can only speak directly to the Spicy Maki Combo, because that was my part in our order. It contains three rolls that I felt were a really great value: Torpedo, Midnight Sun, and Spicy Tuna. Ordered separately, that's $27.50 worth of sushi for $24! I'd definitely recommend checking this place out if you are in North Ocean City MD or even just across the line in Fenwick DE. read more

Inside it is intimate with dark blue walls, a few tables and about a dozen seats around the sushi bar. The hostess was friendly and welcoming. She took care of drinks, food orders and more. Sushi Cafe has a good, friendly vibe. It is also clean - the prep space and restaurant are clean. The chefs work with precision behind the sushi bar making plates of sushi with expediency and efficiency. You knew the trio of chefs knew their role and what to do in producing a delicious roll. The fish was fresh and firm and our tempura dishes were crispy and fresh tasting - no old oil here. We loved the daily sushi roll special, a shrimp tempura roll topped with spicy tuna. The yellowtail with scallions was perfect - a simple roll with firm flesh and fresh scallions tightly rolled in nori. Happiness in each bite. Everything was great: fresh crisp house salad, fresh sushi rolls and a yummy chocolate Kahlua cake. If I lived in OC, this would be my go-to sushi place. read more

Unexpected find in north OC / and close to Fenwick. Had a taste for miso soup on a cool October Sunday evening. Happy we found Sushi cafe. Enjoyed sitting at the sushi bar with my honey. Had a drink and tried a fried spicy pickle special. Good flavor without being crazy hot. Had planned to get 3 rolls but learned for whatever reason it was buy 3 and get 1 free. SCORE!! Got the ocean city, sandbox, big bird and lady in red. All were very good. We cleaned our plates clean :) and even had room for mochi balls. The place was cozy and very clean. The staff were a well oiled machine, good communication and respect for each other. They are doing it all right as far as I saw. Even had some fun banter about the chiefs bills football game. I am so over the moon that my husband and I found this place! We wanted to try it out about a month ago for dinner but it was packed so we unfortunately ended up eating at My Thai instead which is in the same plaza (please don't ever go there, yuck!). A couple weeks later we decided to try again at a less busy time during the day and we scored. Aside from the establishment being small, the staff is super friendly and attentive and the food is incredible! We sat up at the sushi bar and conversed with the chef as he made our rolls. He was very nice, and not OVERLY talkative which can sometimes irritate me when all I want to do is eat. He'd pretty much only converse with us while we watched him make our food.
