One of the best sushi places in San Diego! The times that I have been here there have only been, at the most, two waitresses having to attend to every customer there. Yes, this place is sort of small, but still I felt so bad for them running around everywhere. Knowing this, their service is really good, always smiling and helpful if I had any questions. Their sushi rolls have never disappointed me yet. I LOVE their hot lover roll (besides the small leaf of cilantro that they place on top) it is absolutely perfect with the fresh scallop inside... drooling as I type. Their dragon roll is also very fresh with the best tasting unagi that I have ever tasted. Their fish attack roll was very large, and covered with their sauces. It looked pretty, but I don't think I would order that roll again because all I could taste were their sauces. Their Teriyaki plates are one thing that I would absolutely never order. I really did not like their teriyaki sauce, it was not as thick as it should be and the taste of the sauce was really lacking. A hidden gem with amazing hospitality. I've live in San Diego for my entire life, my wife and I just found this place a few weeks ago. This place has gone to the top of my spots for sushi for both their food and their hospitality (that's even beyond serving you food). My wife introduced her family to this place since our last great experience. Unfortunately my mother lost her phone tonight and on their stressful attempt try to find it they called to ask to come back to try to find it where they had dinner. Roman was kind enough to take the time and stay back to allow us to come and review the cameras. This kind act has won me over bc he simply didn't have to, but it meant so much. Moved from Chicago this month and tried several sushi in SD area. Hands up, the Best sushi in this city. Giant amount of fresh fish and shrimp. The sushi at this place is no different than any other sushi restaurant in San Diego. Nothing special here. No unique rolls or entrees. The restaurant is always busy; I went 3 times between 5-8 on a Saturday, Friday and Sunday and all 3 times it was 30 minute wait. What I am dissatisfied the most is the ordering priority. I ordered before 2 tables and yet they got all their meals before my table did. We did not order any baked or complicated meals. The other tables were older adult and my table were all college students, I feel there was some prejudice ordering priority. I also sat in front of the sushi bar and the sushi chief was taking Sake shots with a customer. Over 3 shots.... I really do not find that acceptable since he is the one preparing the sushi for the restaurant. I went here with my old apartment mates. And I must say I really like this place. The sushi is pretty good, decently priced. The staff is really friendly and nice. Although the first time I went here the waitress swears that I was a regular. Guess I have a twin out there who loves sushi too. xD I was happily surprised at how good their tuna poke was. Sometimes you get some that just isn't very fresh. But it was really good. Also my first time doing sake bombs! I think this is a really great cozy place for a night out with your friends for some sushi and drinks! The only downside for me was the wait. Such a cozy sushi place! The food is good! I got the ex girlfriend and it had all the things I like, tuna, seaweed salad, crab, and avocado. My friends the fish attack and the playboy, quite delicious too. The playboy was definitely smaller size wise so maybe order something else if you're hungry! However the parking lot is tiny the one on the right if you're facing the restaurant ! Spaces are small but if you drive through the parking lot and follow the sign for the additional parking there is a parking lot to the left if facing the restaurant! Lots of spaces and bigger too! Service is a little on the slow side but gave us time to talk and catch up. Food service was speedy after we ordered. They refill your water quite often. We had the deep fried ice cream! My first time trying. It was a cake like dough and then the ice cream. The flavor of the green tea ice cream wasn't as flavorful as other green tea ice creams I've had. Overall, I'll be back! And then we were seated at the bar .....where we initIally wanted to sit .... ok? Then the Russian man sat us and told us we would have to wait a long time to receive service because they were busy?????? Ummm no . After the terrible service we got up and left. TERRIBLE SERVICE. Fried shimp and stuff on top of a huge mushroom sliced. mmm... not too fried so you can taste what it is made of - Dodgeball: it was pretty much fried sushi. But I liked the texture of the cruncy rice and whatever they put inside was good too - Dynomite salmon roll: baked salmon - how can I say no? If you like baked salmon, this one is a must get. i wish it came with a taddd more spicy mayo sauce though, but it was good - Super spicy tuna roll: It wasn't super spicy, but it was definitely spicy. It had a really good kick to it and they're pretty generous with the spicy tuna on top. Overall, the food was really good. The service is really good too. All the waiters/waitresses are SUPER polite and our water cups were never empty. I dropped it half a star only because the food took pretty long to be served. There were only 2 sushi chefs for the whole restaurant, which was packed so there was definitely a wait. And there was a huge group right before us so of course they had to be served before us :/ Being hungry and impatient - that was not good. This was our second choice sushi place after our first choice told us they wouldn't be able to seat us for another 4 hours... It's a pretty small restaurant that has bar and table seating. The sushi was a little too expensive in my opinion, so I only ordered a basic caterpillar roll. It was delicious, but not enough to justify the price. The service could have been better. A couple friends ordered the chirashi sushi and a while after our table had ordered, our server came out and explained that the chef who makes the chirashi is not in today. So, they had to spend more time looking at the menu. Our food took a long time to come out which was disappointing considering they didn't look busy. My friend ordered the nigiri sampler which came out last, but I feel like that should have been the first to come out since it's just sliced fish on top of rice? My roll and my boyfriend's chicken teriyaki plate even came out faster. I don't know. Maybe it was an off day for them. It's a decent sushi place. TIP: don't watch mukbangs right when you wake up lol I ended up at Sushi Fish Attack for my first time because I read good reviews and I saw they had uni! This place is AMAZING! We came mostly for the nigiri: salmon belly(with lemon slice), tobiko, and UNI! It was my first time trying UNI and tobiko eggs, it was very interesting. We also ordered the orange crush roll, LOVED IT! Highly recommend it to everyone. We also ordered a salmon and spicy scallop hand roll. Everything was picture perfect. The service was amazing, I think there was only one server at the time? It was Veterans Day when we came in. Roman was helpful and friendly. He was very observant and quick on his feet. This place is legit! Here's my review: Positives: 1)OMG, best UNI I've ever had. It tasted so fresh, it was unbelievable. For the price they charge, even better! 2) Oyster shooter with ponzu sauce- worth every penny at $2.50 per pop. 3) Sushi rolls - quite creative, however need to put more focus on raw fish rather than fried stuff. 4) Avocado tempura- excellent, but I would serve it with their spicy dipping sauce instead of tempura sauce. 5) Hamachi and other sashimi items - amazing you can tell they know how to look for fresh fish. The search is over. After Tokyo Sushi Loha moved to its new location and lost its neighborhood/fun vibe, Sushi Fish Attack has now become my new fav sushi joint. This place checks all the boxes for me. Consistent, good service, affordable, fun/creative rolls, great fish to rice ratio, great sushi rolling skills, great tasting sushi rice, fresh fish, huge variety, good happy hour/drink specials/free edamame yay! The owners are doing it right and I hope they never change. Though the menu is generally great, be warned that not every item is good. Calamari/albacore 911/ex-boyfriend roll and a few other things I ordered has just been OK but not amazing. My favorites are (you're welcome): tiger roll, orange crush roll, dragon roll, fish stack, hamachi kama, soft shell crab appy (kinda small), mango roll, super salmon, salmon skin handroll, $7 large beer/sake special. I have not ventured much into the tuna variety but I've seen other patrons enjoy it. read more

This was my first experience with Fish Attack. I showed up when they told me to (1.5hrs later) and asked to pick up my order at the window. They said ok we will be right with you soon. They didn't get my order even though I saw it right next to the window. At first I thought this was ok since they did seem busy. However, another person who showed up later was immediately attended to--he was able to pay and was promptly given his take out order! So instead of serving me (who came first) they immediately served a person who showed up after 5 minutes after me! Right in front of me and while I was waiting patiently in sight! This was right in front of me. Unbelievable! I waited nearly 30 more minutes to receive my order. I should have just left since the food was alright. I can't say enough good things about this spot (although I am pretty hesitant to say anything at all haha ... the less people who creep on my spots the better :p - just kidding!) We love going here for the occasional dinner. There isn't a lot of room inside (or outside) but it's cozy enough to fit 6 at a table if need be (most tables are for 2 or 4 people with several seats ~ 10 at the bar). We tend to navigate towards Happy Hour (it's a short window from 16h30 to 17h30) - which in my opinion is the best bang for your buck. You can suck down several little fishies and bunch of appetizers and still walk out with a green wallet.
