Baked Langostino Roll Spicy Tuna Tempura Roll

A worthy sushi spot that is easily overlooked. Sushi forest has a great selection and the menu options are good tasting too. I ordered out and got these options delivered in some high quality takeout bags. Attention to detail! One feedback point for takeout: more ginger to pair with the entire order size. For those going to the store; plenty of parking, good seating!

A hidden gem! I never knew a sushi place was in the EOS/buffet plaza. It's quite hidden and around the corner towards the back of the plaza. So glad I got the chance to try this place, it was delicious! My boyfriend and I came on a Friday evening around 7:15pm and got seated immediately. I would say it was about half full and we got to sit at the bar. They have a huge menu so we took some time deciding. The food came out relatively quickly too to my surprise! After ordering we got everything in about 10 minutes! We got the California Roll, Salmon Carpaccio, Forest Roll, and Crunch Spicy Tuna Roll. Everything was so good, including the service as they made sure to take our plates and trash from us quickly. The interior is also so beautiful and I loved the flowers and minimalistic design. I would definitely come again!

I was craving sashimi, so I decided to stop here for lunch. I had never really known about this place until I drove past it. It's conveniently located right next to Kicking Crab in a plaza with plenty of parking. Love the interior inside, it's so pretty. I was warmly welcomed by Jenny and Joanne. They were very attentive and kind. Luckily, I arrived just before they closed, which was perfect for me. I ordered the lunch Sashimi combo -- the chef's choice of sashimi and our choice sushi roll, served w- miso soup and salad. The food arrived quickly. It was absolutely scrumptious, especially since I hadn't eaten all day. It really hit the spot! I saved the crunchy roll for later, but I also enjoyed it that evening. Lol scarfed it down. Overall, I'd give a 5/5 for the experience and great service.

Back to a familiar old place to give them a try again. We used to come here weekly precovid days and after Covid we never really returned because their prices were already going up. Now they have a bunch of specials and a Happy Hour Special of certain rolls for &10.00. If it weren't for the specials to really give you value for the money, I'd probably try somewhere else.

A while back I saw Sushi Forest had a Carpaccio Sampler for $20, so I had to visit. It's a hidden gem on Carson and Norwalk by a tire shop. The employees were friendly and attentive during the visit. The interior was clean, organized, attractive, and illuminated. They have several lunch specials and new items that I didn't have an opportunity to explore. I ordered the Carpaccio Sampler, Red Dragon Roll, and Spicy Yellowtail Roll. Most was rich and worth getting again except Red Dragon was my least favorite because of the shrimp. However, it's good if you appreciate a clean, creamy texture. The Salmon was really good and I'd like to try the Bento Box along with other items.

Our dog groomer is located around this area and me and my mom decided to try this sushi place out. Parking is pretty small unless you park around the other side of the area in the bigger lot but not a major deal breaker. We walk in and we were greeted immediately by the server and sat down. The aesthetic of this place is really nice and comforting. I really like the petals above and the art on the wall. Their menu is also pretty extensive but I opted to go for the my go to rolls and of course, as a salmon skin roll connoisseur, had to get that. Mom opted for the bento box with sesame chicken and crunch roll. Her soup came out first and she said it was good meanwhile my nigiri came out and wow! Awesome job to the fish to rice ratio especially with the salmon. Next came out the salmon skin roll and that looked good! But was it delicious?! I have to say the salmon skin roll is only okay here. The sauce already on the roll kind of made the rice more soggier and the taste was only okay. Felt like my roll needed a little more crunch. As for the nigiri I really liked them all! I mostly enjoyed the scallop! Super delicious. Our server was attentive and brought out our check and with the bento box along with all rolls it was around $60 for the meal which is a really fair price! Overall though, I think this place is good. Salmon skin roll needs some work but the nigiri was good! I think it's a solid place to get your sushi fix!

I've already been here a few times for takeout, and it's been consistently great. The sushi is always fresh and delicious, and the rolls are definitely worth trying. The spicy edamame is also a must--so flavorful. The interior is clean and nicely designed too. Service is so kind. I'll definitely keep coming back.

Took a chance on this little gem, it came up on my thread and I thought. WTH?! Let's just say we've ordered from this spot a few times within the last 2 months. Each time getting a new roll. We tried the baked salmon , we were fighting over the last roll! It was melt in your mouth. The yellowtail carpaccio never disappoints. As a Mexican we always need a little spice , the Mexican roll is a good addition. While we have not ate at the restaurant, our orders are always delivered quickly. I call that good customer service!

Delicious Sushi in a very nice restaurant. We ordered the Aloha Roll, Lemonade Roll, Carson Roll, x2 Yellowtail Carpaccio and Sashimi plate(left to right). the dis was fresh and soft. The place is very clean and the servers are friendly. Definitely would come back.

Fantastic boat! Fantastic service! I love this restaurant for good quality food and kind service. It's the best option among nearby sushi places.

Absolutely amazing fish quality, pretty picky myself but great food. One of those hole in the wall spots that are also very clean and nice vibe. Amazing service, Joanne, Kenny, and Jason took great care of us!! Will definitely be back

This is now my favorite little sushi spot. They have a great happy hour. The staff is friendly. The sushi is always so fresh. I got the Gen roll and aloha roll as well as the happy hour sushi(6 piece). The mixed tempura is so good. If you haven't been, you are truly missing out on a great sushi place. We didn't expect to walk into such a cute little place, but look forward to coming back again.

At the very least, it has been my favorite chain of Japanese markets, but it stinks how they have just one location in the Bay Area! In fact, across my limited number of trips to SoCal, I've already visited more locations down here than back at home and I have to say - this location may be the newest, but it's also my least favorite one I've been to. Like pretty much every other Mitsuwa I've been to, this location has a cute little food court with a half dozen or so eateries offering a variety of food options - from ramen, udon, and curry rice plates to onigiri, matcha, and Japanese sweets. As for the market, it has all of the usual offerings you would expect - a solid selection of fresh produce, meats, seafood, frozen foods, pantry staples, alcohol, snacks, and sections of prepared foods and sushi to choose from. What's more, as a whole, everything here felt so new and clean (which makes sense in hindsight, as it apparently opened only back in November). With all of that having been said, though, it's weird to me how this place still felt a bit...lacking. While you can find a decent mix of things to eat at their food court, it's pretty much limited to three eateries, so don't be surprised to see lines when it's busy. Also, despite how new it is, the market feels smaller than other Mitsuwas I've been to. That's not inherently bad, but pickings felt relatively slim for certain meats and produce we were looking for, as well as their bento boxes and sushi. Granted, it probably didn't help that we were here on a Sunday and the place was packed with customers, but it's not like we stopped in towards the end of the day either. All in all, while I definitely think there are plenty of positives about this location, I'd be lying if I said I was as impressed with this one as I was by their location in Costa Mesa. It's definitely nice how new it is and I would never be opposed to going to any Mitsuwa, but if I lived out this way, it'd be tough not to know whether I'll be able to get everything I need here or if I'll also need to stop off somewhere else. THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded down for now.

Under their Light Dinner section, they offer a Zarusoba for $12.00 and a Tempura Udon/Soba with Shrimp Tempura for $13.00. However, if you want Zarusoba with Tempura, they charge an extra dollar. The Zarusoba was good, but it would be nice if they gave a bit more sauce for dipping. I also got a Sashimi Salad, which had a lot of sashimi! It had salmon, tuna, and a white fish. Pretty good, but it could have used a little more dressing as well. The Combination Plate with Salmon and Tempura was enjoyable. It comes with a piece of salmon, a variety of tempura (shrimp, broccoli, sweet potato, onion), side salad, miso soup, rice, tempura sauce, and teriyaki sauce. Salmon was cooked well, and I liked all of the tempura! Their Lunch Specials are originally what caught my eye, but it seems like they don't have anything similar for dinner. Instead, everything is a la carte with the exception of a few combination plates. I wish they would do dinner specials similar to their lunch specials! Parking here is pretty difficult. It did not taste bad more like freshly unfrozen with only some flavor and little sweetness. Spicy edamame - tasted like it was just sate'd in chili oil and salt Yellow tail belly Albacore belly Jumbo Scallop Ankimo Spanish Makeral Red Snapper We really enjoyed this place and wanted to give it another try but if you do try; definitely come before 5pm for their Makeral hour prices. Again, the staff was very nice nice welcoming. It is a place for family and quick get together but the food has been hit n miss.

At first I thought it was a fast food style, order at the counter and wait for your order to be ready, but it was actually a casual sit down restaurant. The lovely lady took our order when we were ready. They offer a variety of plates and combo plates which includes California roll and gyoza. They have a but two rolls and get one free special which is what I went with. They have a variety of sushi rolls to choose from. They have no rice rolls and several styles of specialty rolls. They even have ramen or udon noodle soups. The service was attentive enough to not feel forgotten. She checked on us a few times and made sure our water was replenished. Pleasantly surprised about this place. Nowhere a high end Japanese restaurant, but very sufficient enough for a simple lunch.

Service was solid too, our server kept checking in on us but it wasn't too much. I got the chicken katsu combo plate, the chicken was crispy which I liked. My fiancé got the summer rolls, no complaints, and the salmon was fresh. Overall just a good experience, I'd come back.

These are the sort of eateries I seek out when I go to Japan as they are affordable, filling, and satisfying. Just as they do in Japan, they have a large display case on the wall which is filled with a couple dozen realistic plastic displays of the various plates they offer. It makes it easy to see what you'll be getting and helps me make a decision. I was there for a late lunch and ordered the pork katsu curry plate and also, for an additional fee, added an omelette on top of the rice (omu-curry). I was given a pager by the friendly fellow at the counter and my meal was made in less than ten minutes. I sat and ate in the clean, comfortable food court. The pork was good quality, very tender, with a crunchy panko coating. The rice was done perfectly and the omelette on top was delicious with a buttery taste and soft texture. I loved the curry; it had excellent flavor and complemented the pork well. There were also some slices of hard-boiled egg and some bits of radish on the plate as well as a cabbage salad. My single complaint is that the salad had no dressing so was rather "blah" compared to everything else. I call these places fast-food katsu. They are all over Japan. Not as fancy as high-end katsu restaurants, where the pigs have been massaged daily before becoming tonkatsu, but satisfying comfort-food versions. To this end, this place delivers flawlessly. It's delicious!

Tokyo Shokudo's menu is pretty vast and includes a wide range of Japanese comfort foods. From rice bowls to udons and sobas, they've got it all! I went with their Pork Katsu Curry Udon. It wasn't particularly good, but it wasn't terrible. The katsu filet had a nice crisp to it and the curry udon was comforting. It didn't particularly wow me as I've had better elsewhere, but it was perfectly fine. A small note is that I think the bowl was a bit too small for what it was. I found myself really trying to dig deep to reach the noodles. By the time I got to them, it felt like a lot of the curry had already got soaken up. I think as an udon dish, its components could've been more well rounded.
