I loved how the meat is tender and juicy. So many variety of service side dishes. Considering the quality and portion size, the prices were reasonable. It's the kind of place I would happily return to with friends or family when I'm craving a satisfying Korean meal.

We went to Woomioak in Hawaiian Gardens while visiting some family in the area. They told us it was their go-to spot for Korean food and after I could clearly see why after our visit. It was just an all-around solid meal with all the Korean classics. We got: Steamed Pork w/ Napa Cabbage, Pork Backbone Casserole, Spicy Braised Cod & LA Galbi. Portions are pretty big so it was more than a feast for 5 of us. My favorite was probably the Steamed Pork w/ Napa Cabbage. The pork is just the right texture, really tender and amazing when you wrap it in the napa cabbage with all the fixins. The spicy braised cod I thought also was really good. All the dishes were just really done well. Great meal with family and definitely want to come back and try some other things on the menu.

Great kind service and yummy food at this mom and pop shop! The dumplings were phenomenal and so flavorful! Cheese katsu and pancake were nice and crispy! Bulgogi has great flavor too. Everything came out so fast and portions are very large, perfect for sharing! Prices are very reasonable too

Came here for lunch since it was next to a coffee shop. Got their Galbi Tang, pretty tasty and meaty. The banchan was super good, staff is attentive and felt like a mom and pop shop. Definitely coming back for their other dishes when I come with a group.

Large portion and so good. I and my bf went there yesterday around 8 pm. We ordered pork feet and pork neck soup. Both are so good and large portion! I love this place and will go back soon!

Hidden gem-level deliciousness! Friendly service and super-yummy kimchi. 10/10 recommend! The bossam entree was super gelatinous and soft. The side dishes added to the experience -- the pickled and fermented items were incredible. So satisfying!

If you are looking for Korean food outside of AYCE, Woomi Oak should be on your radar. My wife and I decided to try this place even with 8 reviews. The food looked good and my wife read that it changed management. Located inside a pretty dead plaza, it's sort of a hidden gem on the corner. You walk in and it's lit with plenty of seating for parties of 4-10. The menu screams unique. I'll be honest, I didn't know what half of the items were. All my wife and I knew was that we wanted to try the steamed pork with napa cabbage. At $45, the meal was plenty for two people as it came with refillable sides. Yes the prices may deter you since you can get your fill from AYCE for the same price, but after watching Jinny's Kitchen and seeing how much effort it takes to prep the work, I think the price if totally warranted. The waitress was also very kind. I raved about the kimchi since I love the kimchi at restaurants instead of the store bought ones. I wanted to take this one home. She gave me a to go kimchi for free. So nice. We'll be back.

Used to be called Gaon but changed name and ownership. Solid Korean restaurant that offers a variety of traditional dishes like soups and noodles. They are currently running a lunch special from 11-2pm where their bean sprout soup, galbi tang, and their Korean "hangover soup" is only $12.99! It gets quite busy during those special hours just FYI. Portions are ok but not as big as the normal entree when it's full priced. My FAVE dish is their stir-fried squid! It's pretty spicy yet super flavorful with a ton of squid and veggies. Portion is big enough for 2 people. Their banchan is fresh with a variety as well!!!

I will not be going back here! I really wanted to like this place because of the reviews, but the service/treatment was disrespectful. You know there's places that joke about when certain Korean places they treat you differently if you're not Korean. Well this was it because in a restaurant full of all Koreans we were the only ones who were disregarded while everyone else got kind smiles, they had a cart to bring out food and everyone else's they never put it on the bottom floor rack but for ours they put it on the bottom floor rack which I thought was super unhygienic and unnecessary. Everyone else also got purple rice and we didn't get an option and just received white rice. Also I've never been to a restaurant where they charge for to-go boxes??? Each to-go container we got charged for AND IT WAS THE REGULAR STYROFOAM CONTAINERS and when asked for a plastic bag they acted like we were robbing them. Also I had asked for at least the big plastic containers that they used for other people for ours because the big rib bones wouldn't fit in the styrofoam ones and and soup would drip out and she looked at me like I made no sense and that they didn't have it when clearly I saw them use it for the other people's to go. I thought the food was decent, and decently priced and on a random note the pork back bone soup tasted lik kfc seasoning to me lol but I liked it. I just hate going to restaurants where I feel outcasted and like I'm begging to be there, because I'm not and I paid a lot of money and even tipped still so I don't appreciate being treated unwelcomely.

    Kalbi Jjim- 10/10 incredible
    Vi M.

Clean, authentic and richly complex flavors of love filled with Korean Uncles catching up on life. I couldn't ask for more. Portions were all family style and HUGE. I don't know why this place doesn't have lines completely wrapped around the block bc it's the most incredible food I've enjoyed since living in Ktown Los Angeles. Kalbi Jjim had incredible depth of flavor and didn't skimp on quality. Ugeoji Galbitang- Korean short rib, cabbage was the ultimate highlight. Rich broth filled with monster bone-in ribs and plenty of cabbage. I ate more than half and needed to save the rest to look forward to eating again in the morning. I couldn't sleep thinking about this soup which goes to show how good it is. Bossam was fresh. Pork Katsu was very lightly dusted in crispy panko and juicy pork. Kids didn't save us any outside of 2 bites. Saw lots of people order shared stews, squid and noodles. Seafood pancake was just okay. Not much seafood and heavy on white onions, green onions and filler batter. Suggest to skip, I've had better. Overall, I'm counting the days until I return. Don't sleep on this place. May feel a bit intimidating not being Korean but the food is out of this world and worth every dollar PLUS.

From the friendly service that made us feel like home, to the delicious food, everything hit the spot. We ordered the cold noodle, seafood pancake, bibambap, and short rib combo. All the dishes were so good! And all the banchan that came with it was the cherry on top. The only negative was the table was kind of small for all the dishes...though that could have been user error with us ordering way too much. Portions were surprisingly big, especially the seafood pancake. The whole time, our littlest one was making a mess and the ladies that worked there did not seem perturbed at all, and kept commenting about how cute he was and interacting with him. This type of service and response made us feel more at ease and able to "enjoy" our meal, and that makes a world of difference. I would recommend! Note the parking lot is a little small.

There was one other party in there with us. The service started off a little slow but it was well worth it. The menu includes casserole soups, stir fries, noodle dishes, and other house entrees. If you like seafood, Mhat is known for their mackerel and cod dishes. We wanted to try everything but ended up sharing their Bul Nak Jun Gol which was a bulgogi and octopus casserole soup. It came out in a hot pot with flames. It included marinated meats, udon noodles, veggies, in a sweet and savory soup base. It was served with banchan and rice. The dish listed that it was for 2 people but it can honestly feed up to 4. We had plenty of left overs. The flavors were complicated and delicious. It was perfect for that cold day. The lady working was really nice and helpful. She made sure to check on us and even helped us enjoy our food by cutting out the flame and making sure we were mixing it right. I also paid my bill with a credit card and left a cash tip on the table, but she didn't see it and came back to ask if I intended to leave a tip--which caught me off guard a bit. Their Hae Jang Guk was the only soup with the bone filled up the bowl. However, because there's no space in the small bowl, even a little nudge made its soup spilled all over my sister's body. The waitress just then gave her a bib but the damage had already been done. The Bulgogi and Katsu took the longest to come out but they were the highlights of our meal. Service: We were the only table at the time and our waitress only gave us 2 menus for a table of 6 so we had to go grab our own from other tables. Our water was never refilled and napkins were very skimmed out. Though she did check up on our tables, her attitude was what made us refrain from asking for help. We love to give smaller businesses a chance, but we're sad to say Jomaru is not one of them.

Yukgaejang (Spicy Beef Soup) - The amount of ingredients they give you is amazing. I've had it both dining in and as takeout, and it's consistently delicious every single time. After we graduated, we promised to have a little reunion here as adults when we were old enough to drink. This little reunion happened recently. My little sister, who is 17, knew I was meeting my friends for dinner and asked if she could come. Since I knew we would be drinking, I called the restaurant ahead of time to ask if she could sit with us since she wouldn't be drinking. They said no. If we were drinking, she couldn't be there. I thought it was unfortunate, but I told my sister she couldn't come to dinner with us. But what was really annoying is that after we ordered alcohol, our server didn't card us. I went out of my way to uninvite my sister because they said she couldn't be there, and they didn't even check. I thought it was a dumb rule in the first place, but it was really annoying that they didn't even enforce it after I went out of my way to ask. The pork belly skewers were really good. I can see why we used to come all the time as kids. Smoky and crispy. There's a big super traditional looking grill at the front of the restaurant, so I guess they're super serious about their skewers. The okonomiyaki was good too. We decided to try the rose tteokbokki since it was a new menu item, but we were unimpressed. There were barely any toppings inside. We also got the steamed squid, but I thought it was a bit overcooked. We might've stayed a little longer, but the sight of a cockroach climbing on our table sent a chill down our spines. We told a server that we saw a cockroach, but she just stared at us blankly and walked away without doing anything. After that, we had serious issues about the perceived cleanliness of the restaurant and left immediately.  I'm disappointed. In the end, I didn't get the warm and fuzzy nostalgic feeling I was yearning for. I think there were several interactions with the workers that they could have handled better.
