Worst service and worst tasting sushi ever. The host/waitress had such a bad attitude- you could tell she couldn't care less about her job or your experience at this restaurant. She practically glared at us when we walked in. The building is a hundred years old, needs major updating or deep cleaning. I'm unsure how they are even still in business. I could not even eat some of the sushi we ordered and I refused to pay extra for uneaten pieces since it seemed they used old tempura shrimp or old oil. Tried this place the first time, saw some bad reviews on here but because we were in the area and pretty hungry so we took the risk. Food: the sushi was poorly made (see from the photos). They didn't even give you full wrap for the seaweed (it's so weird) and look at the topping, the topping portion including fish, were so little, however the rice portion was so big (they also make you finish all the rice). You pretty much only taste the rice and sauce because the fish were so thin, fish eggs were so little you could see the rice. All the sushi were poorly made, the rice was falling apart before you put in your mouth. Staff: they were talking to each other for a while, not even looking at customers. We kinda let them know we were ready to order but the girl who saw us ignored us twice and didn't even let the waitress who's servicing our table know. It's been a while since we've been to Sushi House, but we were hungry for sushi en masse and found ourselves here once again. We ordered our favorite (Firecracker) with some new-to-us rolls (Hollywood and New Jersey). I know nostalgia is sweet, but we left a little underwhelmed. We were promptly seated and our drinks (waters bc we didn't come to play games and wanted to maximize stomach space for sushi) came out shortly thereafter. We put in an order for 6 rolls. Within a reasonable time we got 5 of our 6 rolls delivered to our table. We couldn't figure out two of the rolls so we asked the server for help. She was very adamant one roll was such-and-such even though it didn't match the menu's description. After she left we figured out what was what (it was important to know because we really liked it) and ordered it again along with another Firecracker. It took so long for our second order to come out with 2 rolls versus the first order with 5 (supposed to be 6) rolls. By the time it came I was no longer hungry - but of course you eat it anyway so you don't have to pay the extra charge. The people are kind and we love supporting small/local businesses. The quality of the raw fish seemed to have decreased, however, and the inconsistent service was kind of a bummer when you pay $20 per person. I'd still recommend this place if you're wanting to busy binge on sushi for a semi-decent price, but with the caveat of long wait times, mixed up orders, and so-so quality fish. But if you're wanting the real deal, I'd say go to Tsunami, Nori, or Red 8 instead. read more

I love the sushi here! It's so good! The service when we came on Friday evening was fast! We tried a lot of rolls. My favorites were the Chrystal crunch and the Vegas rolls. I honestly think this place is a hidden gem. It's not the nicest looking but the food is good and the employees work hard. I felt bad there was only 1 waitress. She was doing a great job. My only advice is to keep the bathrooms cleaner. They were pretty dirty when I went. Other than that - love it. read more

Owner (she says) yelled at two 16 year old girls and charged them double all you can eat. When I spoke to her she was rude to me as well. They took full advantage of two teenage girls and then was rude and yelled at them. The restaurant is dirty and if you watch the sushi chefs they wipe the sweat off their heads with their hands and don't use gloves or wash their hands in between. read more

Not the worst sushi but definitely not up to par sushi. Should have known better since the restaurant is right next to the freeway exit but our group was hungry and not being too picky. Naturally we went with the all you can eat option because we thought we were going to eat a lot. We ordered a number of rolls which are priced around $8.75 - 9.75. We also ordered the nigiri sushi which seemed like a fair price at $3.70 per order of two pieces. The rolls were decent. Nothing that will knock your socks off. I also got a part of a fish in one of the rolls that I have never gotten in the 32 years that I've been eating sushi. The best way to describe it is it had the same consistency of a piece of stewed beef tendon. If I wasn't eating with a group of people I would have spit it out but I soldiered through it. Disgusting! The nail in the coffin for this place was the nigiri sushi. Not only were the pieces of fish thin and small, but the rice it was sitting on was a HUGE ball! To add insult to injury the rice was mushy and didn't even taste like sushi rice, just rice with sugar. We just ate the pieces of fish and left the rice. Then we ended up changing to pay the a la carte price because we had enough with the food here and didn't want to tempt fate by ordering more to get our money's worth for the ayce price. The only plus was the waitresses were helpful and friendly. My favorite sushi place in Utah county. I usually go here for lunch all you can eat. It is very decently priced at only $15 dollars for all you can eat. It is well worth the deal. I always get the Godzilla, funky, and spicy scallops as a starter. They are my favorite. I haven't had a roll I didn't like. All you can eat dinner is priced at $20, which isn't too bad. You get 20 more rolls with the dinner menu and they are all very good. The only downside is that one out of every three times I go, I seem to get slow service or forgetful servers. The nigiri had a little too much rice and the fish on it wasn't as fresh as I had hoped. There was a spam roll and a steak roll that weren't great either. They did do good spicy tuna though! I'm giving a 2 star instead of 1 only because the food is good but their customer service Is terrible!! We've now come multiple times and 2 take out orders to give them benefit of the doubt.. but it's all still horrible! Our takeout orders both times took forever this time specifically took 35 min LONGER then what was promised online. And when we are dining in our server both times acted annoyed with us like us eating their was inconvenient... moral of the story if you don't mind crap service then go because the food is good. read more

Their sushi is bomb, especially if you're coming from Rexburg . 4/5 stars because the waitresses need to get their act together. There was a bit of drama with who was serving us and in the end, our main server didn't even remember us at the end of the day. The nigiri was not as good with the rice to fish ratio being way to far skewed to the rice side of things. This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but the sushi was damn fine. I really enjoyed the Texas Roll. I am from Seattle so the Texas roll was a fun change from what I am used to. The Tempura was crisp and the salmon was fresh. The all you can eat deal was fair and included all the rolls and nigiri. The kitchen menu items are not included in AYCE but still priced fair. I am confident that I can review a restaurant of this kind with some level of authority, since my hometown (Reno) is the undisputed capital of AYCE sushi. My rating of Sushi House is AVOID. This rating has nothing to do with the level of service (from their staff of college aged kids) or their pricing, both of which were acceptable. The downgrades were all about the quality of the fish - which was of a color and taste that did not indicate freshness, a poor fish to rice ratio, and the tendency of the chefs to drown all rolls and most nigiri in heavy sauce - a cleat indication they knew they had something to hide. I finished eating well before I was full and I will not return. If ACYE sushi is your craving, I recommend you look elsewhere. read more

I can't begin to say how horrible our experience was. I took my family of four here for dinner. The reviews seemed decent and at $18.99 for all you can eat sushi I figured it must be pretty good. How wrong I was. Let me just list the issues we faced: 1. Soda machine was broken. (Ice tea, lemonade and water were our options) 2. Drinks came to table without ice. (The ice machine was ALSO broken) 3. The tofu in the miso soup was clearly freeze dried. 4. The edamame was microwaved 5. The kids teriyaki beef was made of something chewy and stringy. It was NOT beef! 6. The ginger was pink and the wasabi was clearly from a squeeze bottle 7. The sushi was so full of rice each piece was the size of my palm 8. The crab was imitation 9. The tempura was underdone and left large goobers of tempera batter on our sushi. We ate everything because the places charges you for uneaten sushi if you order the all-you-can-eat. As we were leaving I noticed a sign that said you got a free drink if you left a review on yelp. Well, so much for trusting the reviews! We love the sushi.. Upon leaving the restaurant, we went up to pay our bill. The girl ringing us up said "Ooops I almost forgot to charge you for your soda." She said "If I don't charge you, they take it out of my check." I said "seriously"? She said oh yeah. She stated, one time a customer ran out on their bill & they took the $49.00 ticket out of her check. I understand charging her for the soda, although mistakes happen, unless they are a frequent occurrence. Charging the wait staff for a loser running out on their bill? I would bet that is illegal. It's not like she is restaurant security or is going to take them down in the parking lot. This is even more concerning to me beings the register was unattended & we had to wait for someone to notice us, come over to ring us up. Keep in mind this wasn't the same person who waited on our table nor was it the same person who sat us down when we arrived. All of the wait staff appeared to be young high school girls. Maybe that's why they feel they can take advantage of them. One of the girls, I'm guessing was family of the owner, who did very little work while the rest of the wait staff busted their butt's to wait on tables. We need to re-evaluate our desire to go back knowing how ownership treats young girls. read more
