By far one the worst sushi places ive been to. Obivously their fish is been thawed out/frozen has no taste. The seared tuna is disgusting had to spit it out. Their spicy tuna rolls taste like tuna out of a can with very little flavor or spicy. Had drown it in sirrachi and soy sauce to even get it down. Not worth $13 and no where near $18 for all you can eat. Now it might turn into all i can puke. Or even shit! Dont waste your money. Absolutely horrified with the entire experience here. We came to sushi house Saturday September 19th, with a larger party with one waitress helping us out. The night started out with our waitress (1) snapping at a new waitress (2) for delivering a roll to the wrong table. After awkwardly witnessing it and her (2) apologizing, the night went on. We ended up flagging down the new waitress (2) since we hadn't seen ours in awhile and needed help. While talking to the waitress, a medical incident occurred, leaving her unconscious. The members of our table, along with a nurse from another table, rushed to help her get situated while we called 911. None of the other waitresses came over, let alone knew her name when we asked for it when needed to help her (2) as she became conscious (A kind chef behind the counter was the only one concerned when this happened and gave us her name). It came to a point where another guest of the restaurant tracked down a mop to clean up the spilled water, without a blink of an eye from the other restaurant staff. While attendants of the restaurant were tending to her, the other staff went on like nothing was happening. Once the chaos subsided and she(2) was being taken care of by paramedics, our waitress(1) asked us to go get our drinks from the previous table (where the waitress was currently being treated by 4 paramedics) since she did not know who's drink was whose. Our waitress reacted rudely when we asked for new waters so we didn't interrupt the situation at the previous table. We had other attendants of the restaurant coming over to thank us for caring since the restaurant staff did not do anything about it. I'm absolutely appalled by how the staff acted so incredibly rude and dismissive to one of their own in an emergent situation. read more

Last night we were enjoying a night out at the Sushi House and had a wonderful waitress. While helping another table our waitress had a seizure. Never once did any of the employees or management check to see if she was OK. When asked only one could tell us what her name was. Once the waitress recovered, the manager seemed annoyed that her employee was told she couldn't work anymore that night by the paramedics! All of the other employees and manager were more worried about getting the Sushi to the tables then checking on their employee. I will never go back because they proved they care more about making a dollar then their own employees! SHAME ON YOU SUSHI HOUSE! read more

You should know that I classify sushi places into two groups: the all-you-can-eats and the others. I judge them differently as well. The Sushi House is a great all-you-can-eat place. I have had better sushi elsewhere (and have paid quite a bit for individual rolls) however if you're looking for a great all-you-can-eat place, this should definitely be on your list. The sushi is good. Generally, everything is fresh and they roll the rolls pretty tight with the right amount of rice. Like I said, you can probably find a roll or two at other places that aren't all-you-can-eat that may taste a bit better, but if you want a good all-you-can-eat experience, this is an awesome place to go. If it helps, I'm probably here once every two weeks or so...let that be proof that they have good stuff. read more

Ok, I know, an all-you-can-eat sushi joint, but come on!! Sushi for 2 in Utah is a $70-$120 night-out. $20 a pop and your puttin-em-down (dinner). I chalk it up to value sushi... like ordering off the dollar menu or going to olive garden for italian (pronounced eye-tally-anne in Utah), but with sushi. I have tried all of the AYCE sushi joints within 50 miles. This is the one I've settle on. All Mexican chefs, seemingly Chinese owners (husband and wife watching carefully over ever dish). It's good, affordable sushi... which is not easy to come by in these parts. Try the Max roll (not on the menu), and the texas (steak roll) is whimsical and beefy. read more

First off, I'm not a picky eater, and I'm not having a bad day. I also don't post Yelp! reviews all that often - usually only for excellent experiences and...otherwise. I wouldn't call myself a sushi virgin, but I do tend to stick to americanized rolls and don't stray too far off that path. I had high hopes for this place - being my first visit and all - and having a craving for sushi. The sign on the table that explained the rules of 'all you can eat' sushi had a year's worth of grease and grime on it - that was pretty custom. The iced tea was...underwhelming in a really gross sort of way. OK, water it is. The high school waitress was nice - I was seated quickly, she was informative and attentive; and I ended up giving her a good tip as a result. I ordered a Philly roll (not on the menu), a jalapeño roll, and two steak rolls. Philly roll was maybe slightly better than average and then I started in on the jalapeño roll. First six pieces were fairly good. Get into number seven; and grab a mouthful of mold. Yep, mold. What. In. The. World? I wasn't upset - mistakes happen. What truly struck me as odd was the manager (or owner?) offering me a replacement. Really? How about you go talk to your chef and make sure your food is mold free first? I made it halfway through 1 of the 2 below average 'steak rolls' before I aborted this mission. I went to pay my bill. I can't say that I wasn't semi-expecting maybe a small discount for the 'incident'. When one wasn't offered, and I was charged full price for 'All I could eat' (and I use that term loosely) + a drink that could've passed for swamp water anywhere in the bayou; I happened to notice the 'Give us a review on Yelp!' sign on the register. Let's start off by being honest. This is all-you-can eat sushi. I'm not really sure you're going to find masterfully crafted top of the line rolls, but you will find decent rolls at a fairly reasonable price. More variety than a lot of the other all-you-can eat places and generally pretty tasty. I'm a fan of their Texas roll ((if the fact that it serves a steak roll doesn't convince you that it's not exactly purist sushi, nothing will) and some of their shrimp rolls are pretty good. This place is generally my favorite all-you-can eat sushi restaurant in the valley. They seem to keep it pretty clean, the staff is polite and friendly, though generally confused about what rolls they're bringing out and the rolls are made fresh. read more

Sushi was good. But worst service Ive ever received, left feeling so ripped off and sick to my stomach how they treated us. Ordered all you can eat sushi, texted a friend about where I was (note, I know what time that was from my phone), and then we waited. 2 people. Our waitress walked by many times. Still waiting. And waiting. A half hour later I had to get up and ask the waitress across the restaurant where out food was. We only ordered 5 rolls, hoping we could order more after, and have ourselves over an hour to get to out next appt. It's all you can eat right? They lost our order. So once I had to bring it to their attention, we had already been there a good 35 minutes (I checked my text) before we got our first round of 5 rolls. I asked if we'd have to pay full price since now we have no time left to use the full experience of all you can eat, and they said yes, we will discount this, and apologized. So we decided to stay. After we ate and had to hurry out, they only have us 10% off (15.00 to 13.50) and then had the nerve to say we were liars and didn't wait that long. I have proof on my phone. We would have ordered another 3 rolls, if they had done their jobs right. But we didn't get too. And still paid full price for 5 rolls in the end, in full. Horrible service from the forgetful ignoring waitress and then the lady at the register. I've never been treated so poorly. I'd have happily paid even 10$ giving us 10$ off 5 each, but 1.50 off? Really? Their attitudes were horrible. I've never been so insulted and disgusted at any restaurant in my life. I'll never go again, and never take clients there again. Tried this place last night for some takeout sushi rolls. It's an all you can eat sushi joint and having never had a good experience at one before I was skeptical how tasty it would be. However, I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed all three of the rolls I ordered (unfortunately don't remember the names). also, my rolls came out incredibly fast and even got a nice 10%discount on my take-out meal. There are plenty of sushi restaurants in the Salt Lake & Utah Valley's, however few are all you can eat. Some all you eat places like "simply sushi" have a limited menu and the quality is not so good. Sushi house on the other hand, offers both rolls and Nigari type sushi, a very reasonable all-you-can-eat menu offering. The quality is very good, the flavors of their rolls are very good and speed and quality of service is very good. Accessibility is perfect as it is right off I-15. The restaurant is always clean as is the bathrooms. The staff has always been friendly. They also offer several beer and wine offerings (which was a surprise for Utah County). They do not have any desserts on the menu, so don't expect to fill your sweet tooth while you are here, but with all-you-can-eat sushi, we rarely have enough space in our stomach's to support a dessert. This is worth the 20 minute drive from Draper for what is usually a $70 meal (two adults, two children) vs. $100+ for the same amount of sushi at other places. read more

I've been coming here for years and I can honestly say I will not be returning. What used to be tenderly crafted, delicious seafood rolls are now over cooked, soggy, rubbery pieces of disgusting sushi that the eel sauce can't hide. The service has gotten progressively worse. This is my favorite AYCE sushi place in Utah, and I've been to almost all of them. They keep your drinks full, they bring your food out quickly, and they do it with a smile. The staff is super nice, and they'll be happy to recommend what they like. I've been a few times when the rice was a little dry, but if you go in the evenings, that's not a problem. Disappointing experience. First impression, dive sushi bar (shabby interior) with terrible landscaping around it. No character inside and it leaves the impression that this place isn't cared for very well. Quick, friendly service, though it felt like I was being watched and hovered over, and mediocre, cheap sushi. Too bad it wasn't as cheap as it should have been... I ordered everything off the lunch menu and when I was finished the owner (I am assuming she is the owner) stated that I ordered an item off the dinner menu (the Firecracker roll) with the rest of my all you can eat lunch menu items. This wasn't the case, but I wasn't going to argue it with a 5', middle aged Asian lady. I paid the extra and walked out the door. I won't be coming back. Sushi was good for the price. But it was dirty as hell. I was grossed out by the mess. The bathroom did not seem to be cleaned in forever. They weren't busy so they had more than enough time to clean up the place. They turned off the music to try and get us out of there faster so they could close, even though there was 30 mins before closing time. The wait for all you can eat was 40 minutes between submitting an order and getting food. Sitting at the bar when eating sushi usually avoids the wait but not this time. My husband and I were at Sushi house when a customer exploded at the waitress, and the waitress stayed calm and tried to explain there was a mistake on the customer's end. I only go here when I forget how bad it is. I stopped in last night (Friday) because it is right off the highway. Hopefully writing my very first Yelp review will help me remember to drive past next time. My sushi looked like it was made by high schoolers with no previous experience at the task. I wish I took pictures to prove I am not exaggerating. First I ordered some nigiri and a spider roll. The nigiri were big egg-shaped balls of rice with small pieces of fish on top sliced so thinly they were almost transparent. The little bits of fish were fresh and tasted OK. The rice was fair. It was only a little over cooked, but I could taste enough seasoning that it added flavor to the sushi instead distracting from it. The crab in the spider roll was so small I could not taste anything but the greasy fried batter it was lost in. It was steeped in unagi sauce. Next, I ordered a cooked scallop hand roll and a Rocky Mountain roll. I took one bite of the hand roll and realized for the first time in my life that I simply could not eat a sushi roll I was served. It was poorly assembled and the filling was just a glob of pink mayo with a little bit of tobiko floating around. I could not identify or taste any scallops. I did find a strip of something that tasted like cucumber. The Rocky Mountain roll reminded me of what kindergartners get when they try to roll a tube out of playdough with their little hands, something like a miniature elephant trunk. The fish on top was hardly a token nod to what should have been there--tiny shavings about the size of a quarter. The whole thing was drenched in unagi sauce, which fortunately tasted OK. The staff were trying hard to be helpful--almost too much at times. They were young teenagers that didn't seem to have much experience at waiting tables. In a sign that this is a volume operation, I had so many different kids stop by my table that I could not identify which one was my official server. As I left, I glanced behind the sushi bar and saw a motley crew of 5 or 6 guys. I saw them when I entered but didn't think anything about it. After seeing and eating the food, however, I guess my brain was looking for an explanation and they now seemed more like a random selection of low wage short order cooks than sushi chefs. It perplexes me that some reviewers here say the food is as good as any they have had elsewhere in the country. I guess if you show up at the right time, the stars are aligned and it works out. As for the three or four times I've visited, the stars have been increasingly out of place. read more

I discovered the sushi house about 10 years ago. I was treated to the all you care to eat dinner menu. They made everything fresh right on front of me. I was so pleased with my experience that it started a new tradition for me and a few of my buddies. My favorites are the Rocky Mountain roll, spicy tuna and the playboy roll. I wash it down with cold soda. I have had sushi all around the world and the sushi house definitely holds its own. Best part it's located right off the freeway on 500 E in American Fork. It's good sushi. I've been here a few times . Servers are kind of weird and don't interact with customers. If you come during lunch it's not busy which is awesome and it's cheaper. The Godzilla roll is great. I'm not a huge fan of their Vegas roll. There are lots of good options. Great all you can eat, dinner is 18.95, lunch is about 14. I would recommend it.
