Went again and was still a great experience. service, vibe and food all crush it ! Got assorted rolls and they were all fresh and tasted great. Service was on point as usual.

Traveling thru and staying at a near by hotel. I would say we are so fortunate enough to eat at Sushi Ko, seated at the bar. It started with Santiago who served drinks , apps etc. with the absolute best personality, promptness and a positivity with humor that you want to make excuses for him to check on you! Now to our Sushi chef, Cris...we ordered from the menu and then let him create what he wanted. I have had sushi from around the World and traditionally omakase style to enable the chef to create. Cris ranks at the very top of the list!!! Cris is extremely talented with an adventure for taste and an amazing explanation of his creation. Visit this place is you want incredible food, amazing service and a relaxed environment

Food service and ambiance were right on point. The most amazing Toro hashimi I have ever had. Wow definitely ask for the moriawase. I also enjoyed their asparagus with black sesame! Different and delicious. A new favorite

The food was sooo good. The service was great! The ambiance was just what the doctor ordered.

    Spider Roll & Hirame Carpaccio

We opted for indoor seating today since it was 95 degrees at noon; they have a covered, outdoor patio as well. I really enjoyed the Hirame (halibut) Carpaccio with olive oil, ginger, garlic, and chives--thinly sliced and fresh. And a lovely presentation. My friend enjoyed her Gyoza as well as the Spider Roll well enough. The Grilled Saba (mackerel) had a nice flavor, but it was slightly overdone; it comes with ponzu sauce, white rice, and miso soup. The miso seemed a bit salty to me. I wonder if noise abatement might help out the sounds that bounced off the indoor concrete walls. The wait staff was attentive and pleasant.

Possibly the Caterpillar Roll on top, steamed shrimp dumplings on the bottom? (it's been a couple of months)

We've been fans of Sushi Ko for years, maybe even decades! Since Covid happened, we've alternately been getting takeout, and sitting in their outdoor covered patio area, maybe once every couple of months. Food has always been really good, and so has their service. My personal favorite is the veggie udon soup with tempura shrimp. My wife usually ends up getting a fancy sushi plate. Since it's located in Marin Country Mart (previously Larkspur Landing) across from the Larkspur ferry terminal, parking is convenient. After a meal, we usually take a walk through the mart, look at the koi, and may sit around for music on weekend nights.

Mediocre sushi. The waitress rushed us for our order, she seemed overwhelmed and impatient with the customers. We won't be back.

That should have been the first red flag. After being seated, we were completely ignored. No placemats, no water, no greeting -- nothing. We had to ask just to be acknowledged so we could order, and even then the staff acted like we were an inconvenience. What made it worse was watching them clear two other tables, seat new families there, and fully set those tables up -- all while we were still sitting there with zero service. It was obvious we were not a priority at all. The only moment anyone looked our way was when we finally got up and walked out -- and not a single person attempted to apologize or stop us. That level of indifference says everything. Absolutely unacceptable service. We will never return.

The flavors were authentic and flavorful without being overly Americanized. The pork curry was absolutely delicious and is definitely a must-order. I also got the tea leaf salad and immediately wished I had ordered the large because you can never have enough tea leaf salad. The palata was a great starter -- flaky, warm, and exactly what you'd want. The miso black cod was another standout. The broth it was simmered in was incredibly flavorful, and the fish was perfectly cooked. The garlic noodles were also done really well with the right noodles and great flavor -- honestly better than some places known specifically for garlic noodles. And of course, the coconut rice is always worth ordering. We skipped dessert since nothing really stood out, but I would love to see them add more traditional Burmese desserts like faluda in the future. Parking wasn't too difficult, especially if you circle around the back neighborhood area. The wait was reasonable, the outdoor patio seating was nice, and the service was attentive throughout the meal. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when craving Burmese food.

Otherwise the food here isn't particularly interesting, and wouldn't have been worth writing about except that on a recent and particularly cold, wet evening I ordered a bowl of my ultimate comfort food, clam chowder. What arrived was such a major departure from the expected I had nowhere else to air the case, so now here we are. What arrived at the table was essentially a kind of thickened clam broth. Not flour & water library paste thick. but with the right pasta would have been an ersatz linguine alle vongole (less actual clams). Or adding potatoes would make it the soup of the day which I've been noticing more often on menus is termed "potato chowder". (about this last I'd like to take issue: how can a thickened potato soup rightly be called a chowder given that in traditional chowder recipes the essential ingredient is in fact potatoes (no? ask google). I figure to a marketing kind of mind calling this bland goo a chowder lends a certain cachet that mere "soup" lacks, for whatever that'$ worth) Where was I? oh yeah, i should add that neither potatoes nor pasta were in this clam soup, but to avoid a claim that the order didn't meet the "clam" description, it did include clams. However the clams were all in shell, half-open and floating or submerged in the broth. Not what I expected and definitely messy to fish them out. And of course, it's a chowder so where were the potatoes? But the clams were fresh and with enough sourdough to add the necessary carb load I decided on this cold wet night not to make an issue of this. So if you didn't complain, well you must have had no complaint... except I did. The bowl of clam chowder I was served looked nothing like the customer photo posted somewhere on your yelp page. I'll just stay with salads.
