    Chirashi bowl (lunch special)
    Sarah X.

This restaurant was such a wonderful find! My friend and I walked in on a Saturday afternoon, and we were immediately seated. The interior was so pretty and made for such a calm, peaceful environment. I ordered the chirashi bowl from the lunch special menu, which was delicious. The sashimi tasted so fresh, and the presentation was great, too. My friend ordered the shrimp avocado roll and salmon roll, which she enjoyed! I would definitely come here again to try more.

Very good! I've ordered to go and dined in, outside on the sidewalk for lunch special. We also tried Roll for Two and Sushi Koshi Roll. Excellent staff/ service and the sushi is very fresh! We have been very happy with this spot! Would absolutely recommend!

Continuing on my local sushi tour we find Sushi Koshi. It was delivery this time, but will stop in to check out their sit-down next time. To start we ordered Gyoza (3/5), these were cold for some reason while the complimentary miso soup was warm/hot. The pork filling was good enough. The Tuna Tataki (5/5) and Shashimi (4/5) were both very good and fresh as can be. For our sushi rolls we got the JJ Roll (5/5) and the Blooming Roll (4/5). Both were excellent, but the JJ Roll was our favorite. The Crab, fried shrimp, cream cheese, etc... were the perfect match of flavors for so much going on. The Blooming had ample amount of tuna, white fish, and tuna on top--something was missing though. They threw in a a free roll which I thought was great for a first experience with them. They never mentioned what the roll was, but it was great. This place was consistent compared to our last sushi experience in the area. Will try again.

Great specialty rolls and roll combos; friendly service; busy even on a late weekday night

Really enjoyed our dinner here! I love the fact that they had outdoor seating so that was a huge plus! The staff is very friendly and service was great! We got a variety of rolls and sashimi. Everything was so fresh and delicious! It is a byob restaurant and there is a liquor store next door!

Been here a few times because we really enjoy the sushi here and tranquil decor! The times we've gone we also have never had to wait too long for a table even though it always seems pretty busy. I did recently order the yakisoba just to try it and it was good but feel like it could have been saucier. Planning to come back and try some of their other dishes as well but the sushi is for sure delicious!

Solid 4.5 stars! We wanted to see for ourselves after reading the great reviews and Sushi Koshi did not disappoint. We were lucky to get a reservation. The restaurant is buzzing, small and charming. Our table started with the Avocado fries and gyoza. Very good. And we ordered a bunch of special rolls: tuna and salmon dragon, volcano, sushi koshi, lava and Grand Canyon rolls. All delicious and fresh. Great plating and presentation. Definitely worth checking out.

But who cares about that right? Let's get to the food. Everything on the menu sounded and looked delicious but we were most intrigued by the kaisendon and the hitsumabushi. The Mentaiko spaghetti as well -- which was unlike any other Mentaiko spaghetti I've had before ! Everything was so delicious, fresh, and full of umami. Our favorite dish was definitely the hitsumabushi, which you can enjoy 4 different ways. Standout dishes from our meal included the Wagyu roll ($40 for 5 pieces), the tonkatsu (very flavorful and satisfying), and the Wagyu hot stone with special rice--the rice in particular was exceptional. We also planned to try the scallop ceviche, but it was unfortunately sold out that day. The server and hostess were both exceptionally warm, kind, and attentive throughout our visit. While the food is on the pricier side for the portion sizes, it feels fitting for the restaurant's refined and elegant dining experience. Parking can be a bit tricky in the area, but there is a lot behind the restaurant that is free at night. An 18% gratuity is suggested.

Most of the appetizers were overly sauced and too sweet. Maybe Morimoto is catering to western tastes that prefers stronger sweeter flavors but in general you couldn't really taste the freshness of the fish or the richness of the wagyu. Steaks were just okay. Nothing to write home about. Got the Tomahawk, Porterhouse, and prime rib. It was just okay. No huge complaints nor compliments. Just average. Desserts were another major disappointment. We ordered every item. You know it's not great when everyone's favorite dessert was the vanilla ice cream which was clearly just store bought vanilla ice cream . Service was inconsistent. They were too concerned about clearing the table to the point they kept coming and trying to clear the table while we were eating. Then they would continue to bother us trying to take our dishes away. Relax! It wasn't like the restaurant was so full they had to clear our table for the next diners. Anyway a very disappointing experience overall.

The person who seemed to be the owner greeted us with a smile and promptly seated us. We first got the large miso soup. The soup was absolutely just what I needed on this chilly day. Most places seem to drown their miso soup with sodium. But this was not too salty but still flavorful and tasty. I tried the salmon avocado, tuna avocado, and california roll. The rice to fish ratio was perfect for me. The salmon and tuna tasted so fresh, and the avocado as well. The sushi was cool unlike other places I've had. The california roll was tasty as well and had good amounts of crab cucumber and avocado. Everything delicious and at a good price. The vibe of the restaurant itself was nice. They do something a little different and honestly pretty fun. The fillings come out on flat sticks in a wooden holder (kinda like a taco stand), and you get boxes of nori (seaweed sheets) on the side. You slide the filling onto the seaweed yourself and eat it right away, so everything stays nice and crisp. It's a little DIY, but in a good way.
