Sushi was good, staff was attentive. I smashed my California roll before I could even take a picture.

If you want hidden charges and big attitude come to Sushi Kushi too, but the tea is great.

Sushi Kushi is great! Affordable prices, amazing ambiance, wonderful service, delicious food. Our server Julia was so attentive and made the whole dining experience very personable. My vegan brother and I dined here and they had plenty of options for us to try! We ordered the AAC maki, sweet potato makis, shiitake kushi, veggie egg rolls, yaki onigiri. Our total was only $30 for all of that food which is crazy, serious bang for your buck with this restaurant. Food reviews below! Shiitake Kushi 10/10 -- Grilled shiitake skewers with this delicious sauce on top. No idea what the sauce was, but it was seriously so good. At only $2 a skewer, you may as well order 10 of them. Similar restaurants sell these for $10+ and these taste the same if not better. Egg rolls 9/10 -- Great! Solid egg rolls. It was a little more pricey for the restaurant, $6 for 3. AAC maki 9/10 -- So fresh, sesame seeds and delicious high quality fillings Yaki onigiri 10/10 -- Amazing. Almost no restaurants have this on their menu. Grilled soy sauce rice ball, simple and delicious! They also offer other onigiris with seafood filling and plum for the vegan options. Definitely recommend. Sweet Potato Maki 8/10 -- Great!! I love the soft sweet potato. I wish there was more of a tempura crunch though... maybe if they changed it so the roll was i/o and had tempura flakes on the outside? I wouldn't mind a higher price if they made this change as well, I think it would taste way better! Great as is though. Overall highly recommend this restaurant. I have had nothing but amazing experiences with the staff, the hospitality, and the delicious food. Super affordable and worth trying if you're in the area!

Oh how I wanted to give this place 4 stars like their counter part in Lake Forest. Unfortunately I just can't after my two trips here. I have to admit I came specifically to try their ramen and neither visit really satisfied me. First off, I don't know why, but they have a separate menu just for ramen which is fine, but they don't give you this menu! On both occasions I've had to specifically ask for it. So I had the Taiwanese Tonkatsu ramen which 1) tasted nothing like Taiwanese ramen as I've had the real thing in Taiwan multiple times 2) was spicy as hell (and Taiwanese ramen is not usually spicy) I don't recall the menu saying spicy either. Now this wouldn't be problematic because I actually like spicy foods and can take it pretty well...however, the soup literally burned my mouth and throat. So that made it rather difficult to eat and enjoy. It was so spicy that my companions started dumping ice water in to make it less so. Second visit. I realized okay, maybe we should stay away from the Taiwanese ramen. This time I had just the plain tonkatsu ramen since I figured you can't really mess it up. Luckily there was no surprise spice so it was much more pleasant to eat. But that was just it. It was a very plain bowl of ramen that's nothing like the real Japanese deal. The broth isn't well developed, the meat is at most average, and the egg seemed like it was just hard boiled and then thrown in. On the plus side, we had no problems getting seated right away and the service was decent. It's a pretty cute place too. Until I return and try an actual non-ramen entree, 3 stars will suffice for this Sushi Kushi location.

Seriously??! Extra charges for bs items! Get a clue Sushi Koo!

Food here was just ok. Service was efficient and friendly. What put me off was the nickel and dime-img prices that were listed on the menu charging extra for this and that. I mean do you really have to put on your menu- No refills on soft drinks etc!? And to put a sign on your thermostat "do not touch!" Why don't you buy a cover at Home Depot so no one can touch it! Duh! So tacky and typical! Sushi was ok. With so many choices in HP I would not come here again.

Best sushi in HP. Nice portions and always fresh. The non fish dishes are all good as well. Reasonably priced too.

The dining room is really pretty, and well-appointed! We were seated right away by friendly staff. Looking around, this appeared to be a very family-friendly establishment, as that was, by far, the most prominent type of connoisseur in the house on this evening! Our waitress was wonderful, and helped us with some recommendations upon us letting her know it was our first visit! She checked in with us frequently, and made sure drinks were always refilled promptly! We had a bunch of different items, and all were very good! We tried sushi rolls, beef noodles, and ramen. I'd have to say that the beef noodles probably were the best item for me! My family and I had been wanting to go to this location for a while and a recent weeknight presented a perfect opportunity to check out this establishment. Located in a small plaza in front of the Westin hotel, this Chicago Ramen is a nice little spot for grabbing a delicious bowl (or two) of ramen. Upon our arrival, we were seated promptly. Our friendly server provided the menus and shortly after was ready to take our order; however, we were not ready yet and took a bit longer to order. The menu was a condensed version of what I have seen at the Des Plaines location. There were six Ramen options, a handful of appetizers, extra toppings options, and beverage options. Also, there was a Ramen special menu and a Kids menu. A few minutes later, we placed our order of 1) Edamame, 1) Karage, 2) Shrimp Wonton Ramen, and 1) White Miso Ramen. The apps of Edamame and Karage came out soon and the ramen bowls followed shortly. The Karage were freshly cooked. The Karage were chunky, meaty and plump chicken nuggets. The meat was juicy and tender, and they were lightly battered. The flavor was decent and the texture was okay. I felt that a bit more frying would have helped it taste better. My Shrimp Wonton Ramen was the start dish for me. It was everything I wanted as far as the flavor of the broth and the texture of the noodles, shrimp, and wonton were concerned. The broth was hot and fresh. It had a nice savory flavor and I added some of the table side condiments for extra umami and spicy taste. The noodles were of the right texture where they had body and good slurp-a-bility factor without being soggy and sloppy. The White Miso Ramen was a nice creamy and rich broth that came loaded w/ cuts of pork that were tender. It was also delicious. I enjoyed my bowl of ramen a lot and managed to finish it instead of having leftovers. It hit the spot perfectly. We had a good experience and would go back. If you haven't been to this spot, then definitely check them out.

We walked into a casual, cozy space with a smaller dining area that can feel busy during peak hours, but the atmosphere stays simple and focused on the food rather than a polished dining experience. The setup works well for a place centered around a warm bowl of noodles, where the attention stays on what is in the bowl rather than what is on the walls. The ramen is the main reason to visit, especially the signature Kitakata-style noodles. The noodles have a thicker, springy texture that gives each bowl a satisfying bite, and the broths are where the restaurant stands out. We tried the Spicy Miso Ramen, which brought a deeper, richer flavor with a noticeable kick, and the Green Chili Shio Ramen, which offered a lighter but still flavorful option with a cleaner broth profile. The balance between the noodles, broth, and toppings made the bowls feel thoughtfully put together rather than just another standard ramen option. The toppings were generous and the eggs were cooked well, adding a creamy richness that tied the bowl together. Beyond ramen, the sides are worth adding to the meal. We ordered the pan-fried gyoza, which came out with a crisp exterior and a juicy filling, making it one of the stronger starters to share. The karaage also added variety if you want something beyond noodles, with a crispy coating that held up without being greasy. The menu has enough options for different preferences, including vegetarian ramen choices that do not feel like an afterthought. Because of its popularity, waits can happen, especially during dinner hours and weekends. Joining the waitlist ahead of time is a good idea if you are planning around a specific schedule. The restaurant moves with a steady pace once seated, and the service generally matches the casual style of the space. The staff handle the flow efficiently, and even when the dining room is full, the pace of the meal stays comfortable without feeling rushed. Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai is a strong ramen destination for anyone looking for flavorful broths, well-textured noodles, and comforting Japanese dishes. The spicy ramen options and pan-fried gyoza are highlights, making it a place worth visiting when you want a satisfying bowl rather than just a quick noodle stop. The quality of the broth and the texture of the noodles make it a step above the average ramen spot, delivering a meal that feels complete and well considered.
