We wanted to celebrate our daughter's 16th birthday at @Sushi restaurant to get the full experience. Unfortunately, COVID-19 altered our plans to dine in. We decided to order to-go so we could see for ourselves what the rave is all about. Let me tell you, this place is worth more than the 5 stars Yelp allowed us to give them! We are first timers and will be a long term fan. Their sashimi are so fresh. Their rolls are so tasty and delicious. Their Halibut Carpaccio is just dynamite. It is so flavorful. Everything is so fresh I did not feel the need to dip it into soy sauce. Their pickled fresh wasabi spice is such a good compliment to the palate. It certainly felt nice to support local business but it felt even better to support amazing business like @Sushi Restaurant. They certainly have exceeded our expectations and have won our hearts. @Sushi really helped make our daughter's 16th birthday memorable. I really like the food I tried here. I live really close so I'll be trying some more stuff over time. I tried the teriyaki chicken bowl, udon soup, asparagus tempura, and the chicken yaki udon. I started going to Long Beach more often to ride around on my electric scooter. One day in particular I had a mad craving for sushi. I remembered seeing @sushi on the corner so I checked yelp and saw the 5 star rating so I decided to give it a shot. @sushi has since become an obsession haha. I have spent this entire past summer frequenting this spot, driving from Westminster to ride around, have lunch at @sushi and then catch a movie. It's great! @sushi is located on the corner, great decor and vibe, welcoming and attentive servers, the AC is always on and the sushi is amazing. The Candy Roll will change your life. You will think about and long for that roll, its so good! The Long Beach, Tiger, Rainbow, Bamboo, Lemon, Baked Salmon, Dragon, Caterpillar, Mexican and fried wontons are all delicious but again the Candy Roll is king. It is a great spot to go to by yourself, on a date, with a friend, small bday dinners. Parking is free after 7pm and I usually have luck getting a spot along side the building unless its a crazy busy beach day. @sushi is truly deserving of their 5 star rating. We hadn't had sushi in over a year. We were wary about "delivery sushi". I yelped and this restaurant was the only one with 5 stars. We decided to try it and we're SO GLAD that we did! Their yellowtail sashimi "literally" melted in your mouth. The eel and seaweed salad was one of the best I've had - anywhere! And to put them ahead of all other restaurants - they deliver the sushi at the precise time requested. BE AWARE! The food is terrible here!!! I cannot have sushi everywhere because raw fish has to be extremely fresh. I decided to give this place a try due to the high reviews. The quality of their fish was so awful. The fish were cut so thick and were extremely hard and chewy. I was literally gaging just trying to swallow my first bite. Every piece was a different size and if the rolls were supposed to be topped off with a certain fish and avocado or something, only 2 pieces had avocado and the rest just had the fish alone. The rolls smelled very fishy and and were definitely not the type of fish you eat raw. Their service is also terrible, the waiter did not come to our table even once to ask us if we need anything, we had to ask the busboy couple of times to bring us things. On top of that, the owner of the restaurant was there smoking a cigarette and blowing it in our faces and we had to ask him if he could put out his smoke. Who does that?!! This was a sensational dining experience. Wonderful wait staff and the chef came to check on us several times. Very sweet people. The Dragon roll here has spicy tuna in it which I really liked. We had a chef's choice nigiri platter that was visually appealing and generous with the portions of fresh fish. The Korean Short Rib appetizer was really tasty and cooked to perfection. No gimmicks here--although the presentation is fantastic--this is Belmont Shore's premier fish forward sushi restaurant. Everything is so fresh, so sumptuous, and so well put together. This is not a place full of fried mayonnaise filled rolls--it is big, hearty, fresh cuts of some of the best tasting fish around. (That said, definitely try the spicy tuna rice crispy appetizer). The quality of the fish exceeded my expectations and is incredibly fresh! You can see from the marbling and coloring of the fish that they use top tier fish. The owner Mr. Song is very kind and fun. The sushi and service were good... Just think that they are way over priced...The uni sushi was $16 an order. The dinner is over a $100 for 2.. And thats without wine or sake.. I don't know if they ever get really busy, but there was only 1 other table filled while I was there. Kihon sushi on 2nd St has great sushi. Their prices are more reasonable.
