The food at this restaurant was very good! The meats had such good flavor and were cooked to perfection. However, the terrible service is the reason we won't be returning to this restaurant. Maybe 10-15 minutes passed before we saw a waitress. She came up to our table and before offering us drinks or even saying hello she said "are you guys ready to order?" We placed our order and our first dish to come out was the cream cheese wontons. After finding a strand of hair on one of them, we told the waitress that had brought them to our table. She brought the plate up to her face making it seem like she needed to inspect it to make sure we were telling the truth. She then took it back without saying a word. She did not tell us that she would be back with a new one and didn't even apologize. Later on I thanked the same waitress when she served another one of our dishes. She ignored me and walked off to the next table where she cheerfully asked them what they thought of their salad. Her interaction between our table and the one next to us was night and day. No one really checked on us with the exception of an older gentleman who would occasionally check in on us. We don't expect to be waited on hand and foot. Through this whole experience we remained friendly with the staff which is why I have such a hard time understanding why we could not get that in return. I recently got a job and went to celebrate here. I am from SF and good sushi spots are golden. Yun (the owner) and his staff are INCREDIBLE! And the sushi is AMAZING - fresh and perfectly prepared! The sushi itself is worth 3.5/4 stars. However, the service was awful. Waited 44 mins after ordering before the Busser of all people asked if everything was ok. Asked our server when our appetizer was coming out to which she replied "I'll ask the chef." Wtf! Then she lied saying 'Everything would come out together!' Strange because 4 tables who sat 10-25 mins after we ordered got their appetizers & sushi before we had anything. Finally another server came to help & offered free soup & salad while we continued to wait for anything we ordered. After another 10 mins, we received our appetizer BEFORE our entrees... so much for everything coming out together. Finally, we received the 4 rolls we ordered an hour prior. To top it off, we received the wrong bill with additional items we hadn't ordered. Just a horrible experience. Will not return because I know Sushi on Fire & Sushi AI deliver better experiences. read more

First time dropping by (which makes sense since I think this place is new) and I already liked the vibe once I came in. The restaurant carries an aesthetic of it's own with unique art along the walls. The wait staff was training a new employee but they still took time out to check in and joke around. The menu also had a wide variety of good rolls and exotic fish. read more

Absolutely wonderful. The fish is so fresh and beautifully presented - it is delicious! As an appetizer, we had edamame in garlic sauce - so good - spicy and flavorful. The Scottish salmon collar with Brussels sprouts was a generous serving and so tender and flavorful. I had tuna sashimi and I'm pretty sure it was the best I've ever had. We also shared a spicy tuna (tataki) roll and it was also very good. The service is attentive and not intrusive, the atmosphere is artsy with warm wood surfaces and whimsical sculptures on the wall, but uncluttered. We always go in skeptical because most people enjoy rolls, which tends to mask flavor, and reviews aren't something to go by, but we tried 5 different types if nigiri and were blown away. Great place! Got invited by a friend as a first timer. The food was excellent. Our friend ordered the chefs choice 15 piece sashimi and what an excellent choice. The blue fin from Spain was reordered, it was so good. The fresh Wasabi (shredded, not paste) was delicious and really elevated the entire meal. The presentation was great, the service was excellent, really a just a great experience. Song, the head chef, visited our table and gave us the origin of the sushi we ordered. I usually do not order rolls since there are many places that put so much of various sauces, so that all you can taste is the sauces. My friend ordered the Albacore Delight Roll and it was outstanding. The balance with the rice, fish, and the sauces were just what I was looking for! If you are tired of rolls that have too many rices and sauces, I would definitely recommend this place! I also ordered the Miso Salmon which comes with the selection of miso or salad.
