I am so glad I just discovered this takeout Sushi restaurant. Searching for poke actually led me here, but when I browsed the menu, I ended up ordering differently and it was delightful. This place is strictly pickup/takeout. No tables. Walk up to order on kiosk (card pmt) or with staff. Staff was available for any questions or if I needed help. I found the kiosk (there is only 1) easy to use. It took about 10 mins for order to be ready. I waited outside with a few others. Tip optional, but I appreciate the choices were 5, 10, 15%, custom or none....much more reasonable considering this is takeout. They do work hard and fulfill orders timely. Located in a small strip mall, there was plenty of parking when I arrived. This is a great alternative to a busy sushi restaurant when you are just looking for a takeout order. Price point was great as well.!

I was able to get a few dollars off using DoorDash, so I picked up Spicy Tuna Rolls and a Dark Meat Grilled Chicken Bowl. The service was friendly and my meal was ready in less than 15 minutes. I appreciate the convenient location and extensive menu.

Was craving sushi for takeout, and decided to give this spot a try! I ordered through DD, and was happy with the presentation. 4/5 - Yellowtail Scallion Roll - This was decent, just felt like there was a ton of rice and couldn't fully taste all the flavors. 4/5 - Blue Crab Sushi Sashimi Special - This was also decent. Not the best blue crab roll I've ever had, it was a little fishy. The fish portions are thick though. Definitely fulfilled my cravings. Overall this spot is decent for what it is!

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Yanagi. Despite the rave reviews on Yelp, I kept my expectations in check--but for a little hole-in-the-wall sushi spot, they did not disappoint. For context, I love sushi and have had everything from top-tier omakase in Vancouver to unforgettable bites. Yanagi falls somewhere in the lower middle, but their spicy tuna over crispy rice and excellent customer service easily bumped my rating from a three to a four. I also tried the nigiri special, which was decent, but theabove average standout was definitely the spicy tuna. I'd return when in Long Beach and in need of a quick, takeout sushi fix.

This is a decent spot to order Sushi for takeout. They got some good and reasonable combos to chose from. Please note that if you order online you will be charged a small fee. I called them to order which was free.

The perfect take out sushi spot! Extremely good quality and very fast. The prices are average but I've never had anything bad from here! Never a disappointment.

My first order with this business was Friday evening. I selected the pick up option which was ready in about 10-12 minutes. The location is easy to find and there was a good amount of parking. I was greeted by the staff upon arriving at the front lobby. The lady helping bag the order was friendly with I appreciate. I ordered miso soup, dumplings, Philly crunch roll and a baked salmon roll. Soup was yummy! Everything else was fresh and flavorful too. I'll stop by again!

They're always super quick with orders. The food has always been amazing and never disappoints. I usually get a salmon sushi special, the sashimi is always fresh.

    Jasmin C.

This is my go to sushi and it's usually really great but today my sushi arrived cooked! I have ordered the albacore sushi every time for years and it's always RAW never seared or cooked! So what the heck?? This is inedible! Ugh so disappointed

the thinnest slice of salmon on a rainbow roll I have ever seen LOL
    Christine K.

This was a genuinely disappointing rainbow roll and I dont think those words would have ever come out of my mouth because how do you mess up a rainbow roll... the fish on top of the roll was basically .10 micron, the thinnest slice of fish I have ever seen on a roll in my life. I was basically eating a California roll LOL. I know things are economically tough right now but if I am paying $16 for a rainbow roll then let me at least taste the fish

Yanagi Kitchen does not miss!!! This is my 7th door dash order with them and 7 is my lucky # so let's get into it! All 7 times I've ordered, I received my food in less than 30 minutes of ordering, the package and attention to detail is top tier, the food always tastes amazing and they never leave out items. I finish everything, every time and I am honestly one of those people who pick at their food and leave food on my plate but not when I order here. My go to meal has been a variation of: Edemame- 10/10 Miso Soup- 10/10 Shrimp Tempura- 10/10 Tempura Philadelphia Roll- 10/10 Yellow Tail Sashimi- 10/10 Potstickers- 10/10 I just realized they have two other locations and I'm not surprised, with this level of service I see them open in every city in CA. I support small businesses and Yanagi is leading the way. They deserve all the stars, I will definitely visit their restaurant in person and leave another review soon!

What's funny is that we've both lived around Long Beach forever and somehow never fully connected with Oho despite hearing good things about it for years. We had randomly stopped in one afternoon recently thinking we'd just split a roll and head home, but the food ended up being so good that we kept ordering "one more thing" until we accidentally skipped dinner entirely later that night. That experience was good enough that when we found ourselves trying to figure out dinner again yesterday, Oho immediately came back into the conversation. We got there early evening and the timing was perfect. Busy enough to feel lively and like you were out for the night, but not so packed that service slowed down or the room became chaotic. The pacing of the meal was honestly one of the best parts. Dishes came out steadily without crowding the table, and everything felt very natural and relaxed. The tuna crispy rice was fantastic and a little different from the usual presentation. Perfect crisp on the outside, almost caramelized, with really airy spicy tuna on top that reminded me more of a tartare texture than the heavier versions you sometimes get elsewhere. We also had bluefin tuna, toro, salmon sashimi, a spicy scallop roll, and the Extreme Crunch Roll with light eel sauce, which ended up being surprisingly balanced and not over-the-top despite the name. Even the iced green tea stood out. Bright green, almost cloudy, super refreshing, and honestly exactly what I wanted with sushi. Service was excellent both visits. It felt very team-oriented behind the sushi bar and on the floor, which kept everything moving smoothly without feeling rushed. A couple practical notes: parking is easy overall, but the lot is shared with the motel, so just be mindful where you park and try to stay closer toward the restaurant side of the lot. Also, this feels much better suited for couples or small groups than large parties. Four people would be ideal. Six is probably pushing it unless the restaurant is unusually quiet. Really happy we gave this place another shot because it ended up being one of the more satisfying sushi dinners we've had in a while.

Their menu has a pretty extensive offering of Japanese food ranging from rice dishes, sushi, ramen, and izakaya-style appetizers. My wife and I ordered a bunch of handrolls and they were quite filling here. Their tuna handroll and shrimp tempura handrolls were the handrolls that we'd want to order again. Didn't enjoy the scallop handroll as much; however, they had a scallop sashimi appetizer this month that was amazing. The appetizer had thinly sliced hotate (Hokkaido scallops), seasoned with yuzu and it was delicious. Also ordered a soft-shell crab appetizer and we appreciated the meatiness of the soft-shell crab. While it was sometimes difficult to get the attention of servers, we felt the quality of the seafood was pretty good here. For this reason, this is a really welcome addition to the east long beach community and I'll definitely be back!

I came in on Saturday with my daughter to enjoy an early dinner. It was around 5pm, and not too many people were dining at that time. I dined in as part of the Yelp Elite Experience (YEE). They greeted me kindly, took my name down and sat us down at one of the small tables against the wall. The YEE include a ramen of my choice and a two-piece appetizer of crispy rice and spicy tuna. I opted for the tonkatsu ramen and ordered an additional one for my daughter even though I knew she wouldn't even finish half. Leftovers for me to enjoy later I also ordered a cranberry juice for her and the rooibos iced tea for myself. I very much enjoyed the iced tea and appreciated the menu recommending it as a perfect companion to ramen. Although it's unsweetened, it had a refreshingly natural sweetness to it. To my ramen, I added black garlic oil and chili paste. The broth was very delicious, flavorful and rich. I'm not a huge pork eater anymore, which I need to remind myself of. I did really enjoy my ramen, however, next time I'll have to try another protein, extra egg instead of pork or give the vegan ramen a try, for my own good. Thank you to our server Mel for being very sweet and patient with my daughter and me. She also explained the service fee very well. Heads up that there is an automatic 17.68% service charge added for dine-in orders. I believe I did see it mentioned on the menu, but the man who sat us (possibly a shift manager?) also pointed it out somewhat quickly. However, there was some confusion upon paying because I had explained to Melanie that I wanted to tip on what the total would have been without the promotion; that's just how I've been taught to tip regardless of there being a free or discounted item on the check. So I was adding it up on my phone to see what "I owed" for service. I confirmed that everything looked good on the receipt and she ran my card without the option of me being able to add an additional tip. Something about how most people won't pay more on top of the included service charge, which I get completely, but I felt bad because I got free items and wanted to leave a more comprehensive tip. I'll have to go back soon and try that vegan ramen and more of that tea

While HiroNori is a SoCal chain, it still feels like a mom and pop restaurant. The crispy rice with tuna was EXCELLENT! Everything you want from crispy rice and spicy tuna. The tonkatsu was delicious! Great depth of flavor. They bring you garlic and spicy paste on the side. I had to add A LOT of spicy paste to get it up to the level I wanted, but while at other restaurants I've lost the broth flavor when adding too much spice, the spicy paste just enhanced the tonkatsu broth. And the pork in the tonkatsu - truly next level. This is probably the best pork I've ever had in a ramen dish. The noodles were also fantastic with the perfect amount of bite. I loved my jammy egg as well. The restaurant itself is smaller, with fun lighting. There is a parking lot which is great.
