Nice sushi spot if you're in the area. The rolls and miso soup were tasty and they offer soy paper as an alternative if you prefer it. They have a cute outdoor patio and bar area. Our server was very nice and attentive. The only miss here was the garlic edamame... which for some reason had cinnamon on it? I'm all for being adventurous and unique but maybe noting such a strong and peculiar flavor on the menu would be a better choice. Other than that we had a great meal :)

New favorite sushi spot! Beautiful little outdoor sushi bar, delicious rolls, and very attentive staff. Delish, will be back ASAP

Not impressed. The best part about coming here was finding a parking spot right in front and visiting with my friend from out of town. Unfortunately everything else was a disappointment. We came here at 1215pm on a Thursday. The place was empty. We were sat fairly quickly however it took our server a good 10 minutes to greet us and get us a drink. Another 10 minutes to order and over 30 to deliver our two rolls! We finally asked him why another table who walked in after us were severed first (the only other table in the restaurant) and he said... oh, there was a big TO GO order that was ahead of you. ????? We both ordered the protein roll. My friend requested sauce on the side and he had to be reminded again since they were not brought with the rolls. I love me a good protein roll but I was very disappointed with it. It tasted more like a n imitation crab roll with whatever fish on top. I also had to ask for a refill. I would not recommend this place. The place also had a strange odor. Like wet dog. There was also what sounded like a pinball machine chime ringing con. I think it was their phone.

I went for lunch. They have a special and it's quite incredible. I got 2 rolls and it came with miso soup. Delicious! I got caterpillar roll and spicy tuna roll. Our waitress was great, didn't wait too long for our rolls. She checked on us when needed. Overall great. The place is clean, they have a nice outdoor patio with bar seating. I will come again.

Food for lunch was delightful. Service at the sushi bar was exceptional. The chef was professional, personal and thorough. Highly recommend this location. The seating is open and bar seats are the best! Highly recommend!!

COME FOR THE HAPPY HOUR! Solid spot but the happy hour makes it! Call ahead they have weird hours/days for it.

Got off a work trip late and wanted to find something that was in the area of my hotel. It was easy to find right off the corner. Upon arriving not very many people but nice crowd. Menus were very sticky... please clean your menus. Good variety of rolls to choose from. I like how you can scan the menu and see actual pictures of what you want to order. It does take a while for you to get food but this my favorite can't The spider hand roll was pretty tasty. It had a a lot of avocado but still good. The house salad could've used more of the ginger dressing. That miso soup was the star of the show. So good and flavor. So hot and everything. I would come back just for this. The rolls were great. They had a good variety to choose from. No shade they were slow. We didn't a refill until we were about it to leave. But over good experience here I will back.

4 stars for value and taste of food! Great local spot in PL. They have a beautiful patio and outside bar, plus indoor tables for seating. Food specials everyday, including weekends!! What is not to love?! Sushi, specials, weekend?! Service was mediocre. But everything else makes up for it. Also!! There is a delicious ice cream place next door. Nice treat after sushi. Yummm.

My cousin and I went here not long ago and I was shocked by how much I loved everything! My cousin is gluten free and they had so many amazing options which is rare at many Asian establishments! The crispy rice 10/10. Double crunch roll was delicious. Service was fast and definitely friendly. It appeared there were many regulars there! Would come back to this location for sure! Can't wait to try the one in Encinitas.

Sushi Lounge fell a bit short for our group. Everything we ordered was just OK. Nothing really stood out and everything seemed to be swimming in sauce. (Including the sushi rolls...) The waitstaff was a bit on the aloof side and it took quite a while for our food to come to the table. It wasn't necessarily a bad experience, but I wouldn't hurry back anytime soon.

This is a pretty casual place so you place your order inside and your number will be called once your order is ready. I was impressed with how quickly it was ready considering the large amount of orders they had. The seafood: very good selection and fresh. This visit I tried the ceviche which honestly wasn't impressive. It had too much lemon or lime and had too much filler (onions & tomatoes) and too little fish. I expected an amazing ceviche packed with different seafood. But the chips were good. Next up was the ahi tuna sashimi, so delicious and melt in your mouth. Finally for the entree, the combo plate hit the spot with fish & chips, fried shrimp and crab cake. All tasted fresh and was darn good, just a lot of fried foods. But treat yourself, right?! Between 3-6pm they have a Happy Hour on draft beers and some different food items. We had two Fish Sandwiches, some Onion Rings and two draft Beers. Thank goodness for the beers, because the rest of our food was barely edible. The Fish Sandwiches were two pieces of Sourdough bread, a small dollop of something like mayo or tartar sauce and two fried pieces of fish. We had to open them up to see if there was anything on them other than the fish because at first we could not see or taste anything. To eat them we put catsup and hot sauce on them. I have never not finished Onion Rings in my life, but this was a first. They were so over cooked and tasteless. Blah! If it wasn't for the cold draft beers this would be a one-star review. To try a sour beer or any of their Russian River beers, (which was a surprise to us that there even was beer coming out of Russian River, a place I love for wine) .... is $19 for a bottle. And if you've never tried a sour beer and no one likes it, there are no returns. You pay your money and you take your chances. They are creative at The Joint. I mean an eel roll with macadamia nuts is a brilliant twist on sushi. The second thing we try is their soft shell crab roll. Delicious. Everyone at the table 'seconds' these comments. I ask someone on the way in, seated at a table eating sushi if it is good. He says: "I'll let you know". Later, he comes back to our table to let me yes! It's really good". So is this a good place to go for Sushi? The answer is yes. Is it a little confusing as an asian fusion place to have so many diverse choices? The answer is yes, but I also admit I do like all the options. Again, they call their Happy Hour food 'Tapas'. Is that Spanish, or is it just me? Japanese fried chicken or an arugula salad or oysters? lol Your taste buds must travel all over the place and that's hard on the palate and my headspace of 'what am I eating'? Is it overpriced? The answer is yes! And if I'm being honest, it surprises me that no one else on yelp is mentioning this. If money is not an issue and you want good sushi, our group recommends trying The Joint. Just don't count on happy hour having happy prices. $4 for an oyster is not happy! It's regular priced. Maybe even over priced for a happy hour menu where oysters come in at $1 and $2 for happy hour. And today, they are all out of oysters. lol We usually just tell you what to order when you go to a restaurant. This is the first time we have felt the need to let you know what you're in for, price wise. Sorry to the wonderful staff and great chef. No idea why they need to represent themselves as 'happy hour noon - 6pm every day', leading me to believe there is good pricing. But it's not my zoo, not my monkeys.
