The surf clam and scallop are absolute favorites of mine -- incredibly fresh and full of flavor. The owners are fantastic and really know how to market and connect with the community. You can tell they care about their customers. I also love how they'll occasionally surprise you with something on the house -- that personal touch goes a long way. I actually thought the food was pretty good. And the service was quick and pretty attentive. My biggest issue was the price. Seeing some of the rolls on the menu as high as 27 dollars blew my mind. The sashimi was really good! I went with a chirashi for close to $30 because I wanted more sashimi than the sashimi lunch (5 pieces of sashimi with rice and miso soup). It was delish!! A lot of melt in your mouth fish YUM! We also tried the hot stone bibimbap which was ok, just a mediocre bowl - not bad not great - and the katsu lunch for my kid. He wanted the katsu kid menu and I went "you can eat a bigger one with miso soup, salad, and tempura" since I'm guessing the kid would have been rice and a little bit of katsu. I didn't try the katsu but my kid devoured it. The other kid devoured his whole chirashi! The only sad thing for me was how long it took for stuff to come out despite it not being super busy and our whole party got food at different times. Otherwise was a good meal! I got take out on Monday. 4 hours after eating it I became extremely sick non stop vomitting and Aton of other food poisoning symptoms. It's been 3 days I'm still throwing up and I was in the hospital connected to ivs because I can't keep any food down I'm dehydrated and had extreme abdominal pain to the point where I had to be given morphine. I couldn't walk at all today I had to be in a wheelchair. Came here with some friends on a Saturday night. It's a cute local restaurant and was quite busy so we had to wait awhile. I've been to the mission valley location several times but we figured to try our luck at the PB location and were pleasantly surprised. Came here on a Saturday night and was lucky to get the last table with my bf - so be prepared that there may be a little bit of a wait. We ordered 5 rolls to share and were happy that some of the basic rolls (spicy tuna and salmon avocado) were still good portions. My friend and I went here just because of proximity alone, but it wasn't too bad! We got the calamari, salmon sashimi, and dragon roll. It looked like there were actual Japanese chefs making the sushi. The calamari and dragon roll were okay. The calamari was in sticks, which I had never experienced before. I think because of it, it was a bit more processed, and the texture was different than what I was used to. For the dragon roll, it seems like the imitation crab is infused with cream cheese, and I don't like cream cheese in my sushi. My favorite was the salmon sashimi; that tasted very fresh, and I wish we had gotten more!
