Right off the bat the attention and service was amazing. The ambiance is hard to beat with the cherry blossom trees and warm lighting. Then our order came and our minds were blown. The presentation was gorgeous and the flavours were varied and delicious.

I went to this place on 11th March, 2025, thought I would try it out as it was always packed. To my surprise, the food was very disappointing. The deep fried spot prawn head was tasteless. All the rice was cooked with no vinegar and they also didn't use Japanese rice... The sashimi was also not in good quality. I thought the whole meal was cooked by an amateur chef. At the end of the day, the scene of a packed restaurant is just an illusion, irrelevant to the food quality offered. I guess if everyone in town goes there once, they will be rich, eh? For me, I will NEVER go there again, ever!

I had some reservations about this place but I am happy to report a good experience. I came bere for lunch and it was quite busy. The ambience very nice. We didnt have problem ordering and the food came out quickly. They have extensive menu and we ordered rolls. The food is pretty decent thought a bit pricy. The rice was a bit dry and overall a bit too too much sauce. However, all the food had a great presentation - half the taste is done by eyes :) It is not Miku but it is a good local Japanese spot.

WATER WAS SOOO GOOD! and my daughter even licked the plate clean.

I LOVE IT HERE. To start the cherry blossoms gives the restaurant such an inviting ambiance! The food was on the expensive side but you get what you pay for, so it was sooo good, so much meat in them. Service could use a little work but overall good.

If you like fresh, well prepared sushi with exceptional staff who despite being constantly busy are friendly, thankful and very diligent at what they do. Then you need to come here! The interior is vert stylish and very clean. You don't wait long for the food you ordered and you never feel rushed regardless of how busy they are. Food presentation is lovely and the prices are excellent. If I lived around the area I would be here often.

Recently visited Sushi Mori for some takeout and we really enjoyed their sashimi. The quality of their sashimi and food have noticibly improved a lot and is very fresh. Amongst our favourites is the toro and Hamachi toro nigiri - they were both very creamy. The scallops here are big a plump as well! Very happy with my recent visit here and looking forward to order more take outs!

.The venue for lunch recently -- daughter's treat -- a sort of belated "birthday & Christmas" lunch outing. We arrived shortly before the restaurant's opening time of 11:30 am, and were able to find 'the' perfect parking spot in this small Plaza's (very busy) parking lot, directly in front of where we were headed. Ambiance and seating: decor quite stunning. and especially inviting upon first entering - with the brightly-lighted trees, and the warm, darkly-coloured, finished walls and furniture, playing to your senses! Service: initial arrival table service - receiving menus, water, tea, ordering, and such - prompt and efficient. The various dishes ordered, were brought from kitchen to table by different servers - and each of them showed much more attention to how we were doing and enjoying everything, and our needs, than the server who originally seated us, took our order, and then seemed to disappear. Dishes came from kitchen to table in a nicely-timed sequence and order. Food: ordered the 'Family Combo A' - as described in menu: (for 2 - 3 people, priced at $63.00 -- dishes included: Tuna Avocado Salad -- Pork Gyoza (4 pcs) -- Appetizer Prawn Tempura (4 pcs) -- Tuna & Salmon Sashimi (8 pcs) -- Yaki Soba (Chicken) -- Dynamite Roll -- Yam Tempura Roll -- Crunch Roll. We ordered two additional appetizer dishes: Ika Kara-Age (squid), and Prawn Tempura. Presentations -- overall ok - but a few colourful garnishes would sure have helped to brighten / enliven presentations of the tempura, gyoza, and sashimi dishes. Preparations -- quality varied: - very good: gyoza (tender, well-cooked coverings, very meaty, flavourful, tasty ingredients -- tuna/avocado salad (all ingredients fresh, and well-prepared - the seared tuna slices, and cold avocado slices 'melt-in-your-mouth' goodness) -- rolls ("fully-packed" with fresh, flavourful ingredients - tasty delights). - ok: chicken yaki soba (chicken pieces tender and juicy, noodles & veggies not overcooked, but overall, the dish just seemed to lack in flavour and taste -- ditto the prawn tempura -- tuna/salmon sashimi (barely making an 'ok' rating, absolutely nothing exciting about the flavour and taste of this preparation). - very poor: ika kara-age (the squid preparation was a major disappointment - the pieces terribly overcooked, dry, and tough!! -- the tea (still wondering where it was in the pot!! the water was hot though!!). Our overall dining experience at 'Sushi Mori' was fun, and enjoyed. My rating is based on a first time "total dining experience". Will there be a return visit in the future -- not likely.

I should have taken more pictures but I was just fully enjoying the meal! The staff were really friendly and the food came decently fast all at the same time. The restaurant is GORGEOUS with beautiful "Sakura" tree decorations all on the ceiling. Separate room like atmospheres and really great menu. First time I went and wondered what took me so long! Love love loved it.

The restaurant is spacious and cozy. For each table there is a tablet for ordering. I ordered a Soy Chicken Karaage Donburi as it looked delicious on the menu pics. The rice bowl came with miso soup. The donburi looked good with sufficient portion for a strong man. It was tasty, however as I kept eating the soy chicken karaage got more and more salty. Finally I couldn't have anymore. I finished the rice and it was well cooked. I drank two cups of tea after having the donburi. I didn't try other dishes, perhaps I will give them a try when I come here next time. I do hope the chef could make it less salty. Apart from that, service was fine and the ambient was quiet and tidy.

We shared a combo which was delicious - the BC roll was definitely a wonderful surprise and the fish was just so fresh! But it wasn't until the hubby saw a plate of sashimi that he knew he had to get the toro and it HIT THE SPOT. Service was good - they were attentive and attended to our boys' needs. There were even TVs there showing the blue Jay game which was fabulous bc I was missing my boys from home!

sometimes the best dinners are the ones you don't plan…read more our party of five ended up at mika sushi on a saturday for an impromptu dinner and a chance to catch up. the restaurant was lively without feeling chaotic, with a bright, modern dining room, high ceilings, warm wood finishes, comfortable booths, and an open sushi bar where you can catch glimpses of the chefs at work. it felt casual, welcoming, and easy to settle into for a relaxed evening. the hardest part wasn't finding a table...it was deciding what to order. the menu is extensive, with pictures of a variety of sushi, sashimi, specialty rolls, bentos, noodles, donburi, and plenty of vegan friendly options. i spent far longer than i'd like to admit staring at the menu before finally ordering the "my favourite combo." for $24.95, you get to choose four items, which turned out to be a great value. i went with the tuna sashimi, salmon sashimi, dynamite roll, and a negitoro cone. my order initially came out with negitoro maki instead of the cone, but it was quickly corrected with an apology, which i appreciated. everything arrived looking fresh and nicely presented. the tuna and salmon sashimi were thickly sliced, buttery, and fresh, exactly what i was hoping for. the negitoro cone was generously filled with chopped tuna and green onions, and the nori still had a nice crisp snap to it. the dynamite roll was probably my least favourite of the four. i was surprised to find a slightly soggy piece of yam tempura tucked in with the prawn tempura, crab, and avocado. i'm not sure if that's normally part of the roll or if it was added by mistake, but it wasn't something i was expecting from a dynamite roll. i also would have liked the prawn tempura to be crispier. it was missing that satisfying crunch you'd normally expect from a dynamite roll. it wasn't a deal breaker, and i didn't mention it to our server, but it just wasn't the standout dish for me. one thing i appreciated was that the portions were generous without being over the top. i left feeling comfortably full and never once questioned whether the combo was worth the price. with such a large menu, there's something for just about everyone, including plenty of vegan friendly options, making it an easy place to bring a group with different tastes. unlike some japanese restaurants where everyone shares dishes, mika sushi feels more like a place where each person orders exactly what they're craving. between the fresh sashimi, generous portions, reasonable prices, and relaxed atmosphere, mika sushi delivered exactly what we were looking for that evening. was every bite perfect? not quite. but the food was fresh, the value was excellent, and spending a few hours catching up with family made it a night well spent. sometimes the best dinners really are the ones you don't plan.

An absolute A+ to Chef Keith and Chika for their mastery of perfecting a great omakase experience in the tricities. They are reservations only (and for a good reason!) and this can be done on their new online portal!! by controlling the number of seatings, Chef K and Chika are able to interact and share their craft with patrons in an intimate and personal way. There is no hustle and bustle or fakeness that would otherwise follow some restaurant vibes. There is purely passion for fish, customer service and, of course, metal music! I urge you to dine at the chefs bar and let Chef K tell you his extensive and wonderful background from catering some A list bands, to being on tour, and changing restaurant models all while being fed an amazing feast. The fish is sourced from Japan and screams quality and flavour. He knows exactly what he's doing with all the fish profiles and pairing them with a variety of notes like shiso, yuzu and ginger.
