Tried their Dinner Bento B. Nice big pile of food. Beef teriyaki - beef is more like chunks instead of the typical slices. Not bad, just different. Tuna sashimi - nice thick slices. Salmon sashimi - can be thicker to be honest. Tempura - 2 pieces each of prawn and yam. Nice and fluffy without too much batter. Special mention. Tuna avocado salad - seared tuna is delicious. I've eaten here a number of times and I found the food not to be good as usual today. I was served nine pieces of sushi that were frozen slabs, and therefore unedible. Rather than to cancel the order as the waitress suggested, I boxed it up to take home and thaw. It was $23.00 for this part if the order. Even the gomai, although the peanut sauce was very good, the spinach had stalks attached and it was served as a very tightly packed puck shape. The spinach appeared as if it was more mature than normal servings (hard to separate and a bit crunchy). My Coke Zero (with 2 glasses) had to be re-ordered. We did get the drink promptly, but with only one glass. Overall it was not a good experience. I asked the waitress why any sushi chef would send out obviously frozen sushi and she said that it just came in and it didn't have time to thaw. She said this chef was it relatively new, but any sushi chef of worth would not send it out like it was. We'll see if any other negative reports come in... read more

I went to this place on 11th March, 2025, thought I would try it out as it was always packed. To my surprise, the food was very disappointing. The deep fried spot prawn head was tasteless. All the rice was cooked with no vinegar and they also didn't use Japanese rice... The sashimi was also not in good quality. I thought the whole meal was cooked by an amateur chef. At the end of the day, the scene of a packed restaurant is just an illusion, irrelevant to the food quality offered. I guess if everyone in town goes there once, they will be rich, eh? I had some reservations about this place but I am happy to report a good experience. I came bere for lunch and it was quite busy. The ambience very nice. We didnt have problem ordering and the food came out quickly. They have extensive menu and we ordered rolls. The food is pretty decent thought a bit pricy. The rice was a bit dry and overall a bit too too much sauce. Recently visited Sushi Mori for some takeout and we really enjoyed their sashimi. The quality of their sashimi and food have noticibly improved a lot and is very fresh. Amongst our favourites is the toro and Hamachi toro nigiri - they were both very creamy. The scallops here are big a plump as well! We arrived shortly before the restaurant's opening time of 11:30 am, and were able to find 'the' perfect parking spot in this small Plaza's (very busy) parking lot, directly in front of where we were headed. Ambiance and seating: decor quite stunning. and especially inviting upon first entering - with the brightly-lighted trees, and the warm, darkly-coloured, finished walls and furniture, playing to your senses! Service: initial arrival table service - receiving menus, water, tea, ordering, and such - prompt and efficient. The various dishes ordered, were brought from kitchen to table by different servers - and each of them showed much more attention to how we were doing and enjoying everything, and our needs, than the server who originally seated us, took our order, and then seemed to disappear. Dishes came from kitchen to table in a nicely-timed sequence and order. Food: ordered the 'Family Combo A' - as described in menu: (for 2 - 3 people, priced at $63.00 -- dishes included: Tuna Avocado Salad -- Pork Gyoza (4 pcs) -- Appetizer Prawn Tempura (4 pcs) -- Tuna & Salmon Sashimi (8 pcs) -- Yaki Soba (Chicken) -- Dynamite Roll -- Yam Tempura Roll -- Crunch Roll. We ordered two additional appetizer dishes: Ika Kara-Age (squid), and Prawn Tempura. Presentations -- overall ok - but a few colourful garnishes would sure have helped to brighten / enliven presentations of the tempura, gyoza, and sashimi dishes. Preparations -- quality varied: - very good: gyoza (tender, well-cooked coverings, very meaty, flavourful, tasty ingredients -- tuna/avocado salad (all ingredients fresh, and well-prepared - the seared tuna slices, and cold avocado slices 'melt-in-your-mouth' goodness) -- rolls ("fully-packed" with fresh, flavourful ingredients - tasty delights). - ok: chicken yaki soba (chicken pieces tender and juicy, noodles & veggies not overcooked, but overall, the dish just seemed to lack in flavour and taste -- ditto the prawn tempura -- tuna/salmon sashimi (barely making an 'ok' rating, absolutely nothing exciting about the flavour and taste of this preparation). - very poor: ika kara-age (the squid preparation was a major disappointment - the pieces terribly overcooked, dry, and tough!! -- the tea (still wondering where it was in the pot!! the water was hot though!!). Sushi did not seem fresh to me. The rice was a tad hard and unseasoned. Also had the spicy tuna roll. It was just a regular tuna roll with some sweet sauce smothered on top. The tuna had a lot of white veins, not good. When you eat it you have to pull them out. Quite disgusting actually. Overall not impressed with the quality, and will not be returning. Very nice interior... probably the most beautiful Japanese restaurant I've ever been to in Canada. The place is pretty big and spacious, they also have booths that can fit a big group. We had the Salmon dinner bento box, spicy salmon roll, spider roll, spicy gyoza, Chicken Yaki Udon and house roll. I loveeee the house roll, my favourite so far. It's served on a hot plate, so it's like eating a freshly cooked rice with spicy scallops and cheese on top. The portions is big, everytime I eat a piece my mouth get so full that it's hard for me to enjoy it without cutting it in half. The salmon dinner bento box is quite pricey, I mean there's a lot of different side dishes in the box but it's still expensive. The salmon is pretty dry and it doesn't come with rice just LOTS of bean sprouts. The salad is good and it has salmon in it too which I think is pretty cool. The spicy gyoza is not even spicy, maybe just a hint. So if you're ordering it because you like spicy food, I'd say skip it! In terms of service, it's ok; nothing to complain about nor anything worth praising for. Although the interior is absolutely beautiful, I personally don't think this sushi restaurant is worth the hype. My few visits here have been extremely long waits. On my first visit, during lunch there were points in time where I honestly thought the server forgot I was there, and I have to wave someone down for more water and tea after 20 minutes without eye contact. Another time at dinner the restaurant was packed and there was a line out the door. The kitchen appeared very overwhelmed and it took almost 40 minutes to get my order. The next few times I came here for takeout as I thought it might be a faster. Even takeout took about 40 minutes. I would definitely recommend calling in before hand if you would like to get dinner. As for the food, it is average quality however very expensive. I do not think the 'special rolls' are worth the money at all - they average around $14 each and through my experience aren't even that big. Their appetizers are also very oddly expensive. $9 for spicy agedashi tofu and $8 for takoyaki :/ To summarize... my bill often racks up extremely high here, and rarely am I satisfied with my meal in correlation to the price point. read more

I have never been to this restaurant before. The décor inside was amazing. Very trendy and accommodates large parties. I was impressed by the ambiance. They had lit artificial cherry blossom trees inside and lots of bench seating as well as rooms for private small parties. The menu was huge. They even displayed the various dishes at the front lobby area with prices and details. It took us a while to decide. Service was very slow. We waited around 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us after being seated by the hostess. When we were ready to order, we still waited another 10 minutes. The food came within 20 - 30 minutes of ordering. A little slow. I chose the healthy alternative Grilled lobster and seafood salad for $14. I didn't like it all that much. It was bland. The dressing wasn't flavourful. My son ordered Katsu Pork. He was disappointed that it didn't come as a meal (with rice). Had to order this separately. The pork was very dry. The assorted tempura was a little too oily for my liking but crispy and typical of what you would get at any Japanese restaurant. we also ordered the Crunchy spicy salmon rolls for $5. This was delicious and would come back to try other sushi in the same category in the menu. Overall the experience was great but not for $56 for two people. The dishes were small portions. Went here just recently over the weekend with my family. We were surprised to see it was open again after being gone for so long! It's much bigger now but the decor is the same with the beautiful cherry blossom trees. It was awfully busy when we went. Had to wait a several minutes to get a table but once we did, we were able to order right away. I was craving for some sushi rolls so I decided to go for the Bliss Roll Combo ($13.25) under the lunch combos. It came with a half order of Bliss Roll (crab meat, spicy tuna, prawn tempura, with ebi and tuna on top) and 8pc of California Roll, and goma-ae. The rolls themselves were just OK. I was expecting a bit more from the Bliss Roll since it's one of their "specialty rolls" but it was basically just a California roll with prawn tempura and some unagi sauce. I didn't even taste the spicy tuna. I really enjoyed their goma-ae though. The sesame flavour was just right and it had a bit of sweetness which I like. We also ordered prawn tempura for the table to share. This one was quite good! The batter was nice and crisp (and hot, thankfully). I guess the major downside of our experience was the service (or lack or service, rather). My brother waited way too long for his chicken teriyaki bento box to come out; the rest of us had pretty much finished before his order arrived. And it was cold. :( The fried spring rolls in his box were no longer crispy or even warm. I think this was the restaurant's first weekend since opening and the servers were very unorganized.. everyone was frantically running around. They gave us the wrong order and they were about to give our correct order to another table so we had to call him back and switch it. It's understandable that it would take them longer to serve us because it was so busy but the food didn't make up for it, so I probably wouldn't go back anytime soon. The food wasn't cheap either... However, I'd definitely come back in the future after they've had time to organize themselves. Huge mistake celebrating my birthday here I am very disappointed with the service for many reasons: 1- the rolls were not tightly rolled and every piece fell apart 2- they didn't give us chop sticks, dishes or napkins. they served us our first rolls and I had to get up to the counter where the utensils were stored to get it myself 3- they didn't offer a round of beverages 4- the food was mediocre 5- we had to flag the staff down on many occasions, they didn't swing by checking in on the food or needs for anything else 6- we asked for a spoon, the server looked confused and completely forgot Icing on the cake... 7- they didn't clear our dishes despite there being a stack of 6+ dishes and they were still dropping off food. *BIGGEST PET PEEVE* The photo op is nice, but wouldn't recommend if you're wanting a nice experience/ good service read more

The restaurant has a wonderful open concept main area with fake Cherry Blossom trees perpetually bloomed with the iconic white flowers. The seating here is practically shared and a little loud, but they do have booths against the walls if you need a bit more privacy. The menu is gigantic and the amount of specialty rolls is a somewhat overwhelming. Considering each has a five or more ingredients list, they can often drift into being too similar while trying to make up your mind. Also, on a couple of occasions, I've been able to taste another roll that's been cut with the same knife that went through mine. This could be just honest mistakes on speed (not wiping the blade in between) but it could definitely be an allergy alert flag. My preferences for food here are the Sashimi plates, the diced spicy salmon one is a ridiculous amount of fish. The teapots here are made of a material with great weight, they look and feel like they are from an older generation. The service is usually a little terse and it sometimes feels like the staff are exceptionally busy. At least bring your own bottle of hot sauce and save your money if you do go here. Will never visit again, and wish I could get my money back. Sushi went straight into the garbage. 5 rolls of it. The first thing that catches your eye as you walk in is the elborate interior decorations of their imitation sakura trees and bamboo surroundings. It'll allow you to have a mid-summer picnic feel. Kinda boosts up your expectation for the food! And you won' be let down. They have a very very very large selection of items you can order. From original rolls, to fancy smanchy rolls that are a delight to try as well. They also have a wide variety of hot items such as the japanese pancake. Service is very nice, but a little bit on the slow side. Owner is really kind, and often times personally asks how we are doing. Also comes around with free pop! haha kinda makes you smile. A group of 4 of us walked in around 7pm on a Wednesday night for dinner to try this place out for the first time. The experience when you first walk in is actually very nice. The trees they have setup throughout the restaurant makes it not too bright, but not too dark either since the trees have lights on them (see my photo). However, it took 20 minutes to get seated, even though the restaurant seemed to be pretty well staffed. Once we got a seat, the decorations around the table and the nice teapot add an extra spice to the experience. The food was just OK, and in my experience with authentic Japanese restaurants, this is a Korean sushi restaurant that actually made some poor quality sushi where fish was not distributed evenly and the pieces were not cut to equal size. In other words, the techniques of the chef were incorrect. All in all, the food was just decent and the price is a little high. But it's a nice experience. Perhaps only once though. read more

Took awhile for our food to arrive we were getting hangry. Miso soup is not included like most places(add $1.20) . Food presentation is average , taste and portions is also mediocre. We didn't like the sides on the bento and you only get 2 pieces of tempura! Very disappointing. They're also on the pricier side.
