I always enjoy the miso and edamame as starters and I LOVE the gluten free soy sauce and Chilli or sriracha for dipping. Their fried rice is also good, and most of their rolls are delicious. Not the spot for vegetarians (my mom did not like her roll, she's not vegetarian though so I'm not sure why she opted into that one haha). I recommend any hot/ fried rolls or food over cold here. Despite living in the city, he had never visited Uptown Glendora before, so we took our time exploring the street, and the additional dining options nearby. On a Sunday mid-afternoon, Sushi n I was relatively deserted. We were instantly seated, and opt'd for the single window seat to for people/dog watching. Extra props to Glendora on the number of cute dogs strolling about! I decided to start my meal with green tea, which was served perfectly in a searing kettle. My brother ordered a beer from their Happy Hour menu, this included an alcoholic beverage and two sushi rolls for $16, Sunday - Thursday, 2:30-5PM. For a meal I decided on the Popcorn 'Lobster' Roll, which actually made with Crawfish and not lobster. The Popcorn Crawfish is topped with a mayo drizzle, and placed on a traditional California Roll. The mayo drizzle was my absolute favorite! Being the great brother that he is, Brock let me try both his Rainbow Roll and Golden California Roll. I personally loved the freshness of the Rainbow! The food is good I will give them that. However the service was terrible and they charged me $5 for lemon wedges. I asked for lemon wedges. My waiter asked me how many because they charge for them. I agreed not knowing they were going to bring me four huge lemon halves. I just need a few little lemon wedges. Ok, onto the service. I got 1 refill on my water, my daughter got zero refills. They served her bowl of noodles then was almost done by the time my sushi got there. They never came back to see how we were doing, never cleared our dirty plates and I had to chase the guy down for my check. It sad because I have been going here for years. Never again. Finally after 3 months my first dine in experience.. well kind of lol. I opted to sit outside to enjoy the fresh air and the scene of downtown Glendora. The server had masks and gloves which made me feel safe. The only issue I had was them needing to wipe down the tables and chairs after each use. The food I felt was average but still eatable. The reason for 3 stars is because I am comparing this to other Japanese restaurants who are actually 4 star and above in quality and taste. The food here feels like it caters towards the typical American, not really that authentic. The meat dishes was too flavorful and sweet for the beef , chicken and salmon. However, I was surprised on how large the serving were and how it was served on a hot grill similar to a Korean Restaurant. The soup and salad were spot on though. This place is a very cozy Japanese restaurant. We had a variety of sushi and everything was deliciously fresh. The yellow tail, Salmon, Tuna and sweet shrimp. It all melts in your mouth. "Like butter" I will defiantly return. read more

I always love coming to sit in at Sushi n I. They have a nice staff that's very attentive now, which is really nice. The sushi is always good and it looks great too. The playing and appearance looks great! The pricing does seem a little high BUT it is worth it! We usually just get a few orders of sushi and the spicy garlic edamame but when I went with my friend we just got our two orders of sushi. It is STILL cheaper than other places and with great quality food. The atmosphere is lovely. It's quiet and the music is playing while everyone is eating and enjoying their time at their own table. There is outside seating too, but it is now getting colder so keep that in mind too. (October 16, 2021). It is a very nice restaurant though with many decorations and nice lights and great lighting. Again with the staff being attentive and friendly it was a pleasant visit AGAIN to this cute little restaurant on a corner of downtown Glendora. I will forever love this place and will visit again for sure! *Would rate this place a zero if I could* Horrible service, staff and poor management! I Will NEVER go back! I called in to place an order for pick up and while ordering I had to make a change to the order. Nothing major just wanted an extra hand roll. The employee taking my order got all flustered and said she had to delete the order and do it all over it again. I did not realize it was going to be such a big deal. Already flustered and in a bad mood she begins to repeat my order as if I was an idiot. When I went to pick up my order it was the lady employee who took my order. I paid for my food and even gave her a tip. I get my order and ask if I could please have soy sauce, ginger and sriracha. She immediately snaps at me by saying "Next time you order you need to ask for sriracha ahead of time!" I was taken back since I didn't realize there was a charge for sriracha. That's like asking for ketchup with your fries. I explained to her that I was unaware and if it's a big deal I will pay for it. She told me that just this time she will give it to me but next time there is a charge. WOW! I literally told her "don't worry, I will not be back!" and walked out. Our bill was $35 and the server wasn't working like he wanted a tip so we didn't give him one. We then asked to use the restroom after walking around the Glendora stores for 10 minutes. Walked in and out of this restaurant in 2 minutes the waitress needs to be coached in customer service. We were sat and asked for waters and straws and the straws were thrown at the table. Poor customer service. I've been here several times, and until recently everything was fine. But my last meal included a hair in my sushi roll (rolled into it, I actually pulled half of it out). Clearly the hair originated in their kitchen. The owner does not understand the importance of #1) an apology, #2) acknowledging the issue and taking accountability, and #3) offering reasonable compensation. Instead his reaction was that the hair did not come from anyone on his staff, and he offered to replace the roll. This was beyond insulting! The hair did not match me or my friend. After I told him I did not want a replacement roll, he offered $4 off our bill. I asked "why only $4 ?", and he said because the hair only affected 2 pieces of the sushi roll!!!! (which was wrong - the hair was through the majority of the roll until I pulled half of it out). I felt like I was in an SNL skit. I had lost my appetite, and did not want a replacement. I expected him to comp my meal, or at very least comp the cost of the entire roll. But he kept insisting that the hair didn't come from his restaurant, and he could only take $4 off the bill. The owner does not value his customers, even ones who have supported his restaurant since opening day 7 years ago. I left feeling insulted by him inferring that I somehow placed that hair into that roll. And I felt sad for the employees, because clearly the customer service issues at this restaurant come from the top. Also, as soon as I reported the problem, my plate was taken back to the kitchen. We love this local spot for fresh, reasonably priced sushi and fish creations! They've really done a great job with what they offer on their menu. We use to always sit at the sushi bar with James before the COVID times. Great service and prompt service with take out as well! I love the Baja California roll with the jalapeños on top and even their plain California roll is fabulous, fresh and so tasty. As a more Americanized taste, we love jalapeño poppers and today we got the salmon carpaccio which is like little salmon lettuce wraps! I love the food here and the servers. There's nothing wrong with them. I've been coming here for years now, and this is one of my favorite sushi places.. but the owner is awful to her employees and makes it hard to enjoy a meal when she is being incredibly rude and a negative person to be around. At least pretend to be nice! The "leadership" needs a lot of work and an attitude change. When you go out to eat, you're going out to have a good time, not to go feel sad for employees being yelled at and get stressed out. I don't want to hear such negativity when I'm trying to enjoy a meal. This place was such a positive place to go to until my last experience being so negative. Once again, the waiters and food are great! But the lady who manages the front desk 0/10..
