We were in a mood for some sushi so we decided to check out Sushi Nova after a nice day out. It was our first time there so we didn't know what to expect. We got seated pretty quickly and service was fast. The sushi options were also huge with lots and lots of options to choose from. The sushi was pretty standard. My only complaint is that they put wayyyyy too much rice on the nigiri. I don't usually mind it but it just felt imbalanced. The restaurant has very strict rules about ordering your sashimi only after you've ordered a roll. I ordered a roll the first time I ordered and forgot to put down that I wanted sashimi so I added it to my next order but they rejected me; saying it had to be in the order form from the first time I ordered which makes no sense. If you're going to put so much rice on the nigiri you can at least let us order more sashimi so we don't end up wasting food. Thankfully our server was nice enough to talk to the managers and got us the sashimi anyway. All in all it was okay. I think our experience was tainted a bit so I'm not sure if I would be coming back.

For an AYCE this is a pretty decent place. They aren't heavy handed with the rice like other AYCE sushi places can be. We ordered a few appetizers (which I think our waitress forgot about), a couple of rolls, some sashimi and nigiri. Everything was well done and tasty. The service was a little odd. There was only one waitress for the whole place, which isn't large, but was busy. She was a little slow, se we didn't get to order any more after our first round. The restaurant is clean and the workers seem friendly. I would recommend getting more waitstaff, but maybe someone was out sick. We may go back for lunch, it's a little less expensive then.

I didn't want to get the all you can eat when I came in, but the lady scared me saying I'm not allowed to share or anything, so I got suckered in getting the all you can eat. Was it worth it? Unless you're really hungry, it's not. Their sushi is delicious, but I totally ate until I was going to throw up because they charge you if you don't finish. The whole time you feel like they're watching you lol, seeing if you're going to finish or not. Their crab Rangoon is delicious as well. I didn't like the jalapeño poppers, it had tuna in it. I'd like to come back for just regular sushi, I just didn't like the pressure of the all you can eat experience. The seating area is very casual, I was it's expecting a more high end experience, but it's just a regular place in a shopping center.

Stopped here for dinner today with my best friends. Upon arrival I found out this is an all you can eat sushi joint. We ordered the Crab Rangoons and Scallops for our appetizers following with 8 different sushi rolls. Everything was good and tasted fine. Worth checking out if you are craving a lot of sushi.

Service: 10/10 Food: 9.5/10 Price: fair We wanted to find a closer sushi place by us where the sushi was good & tasty. For $30/ person for all you can eat menu you get a great selection to choose from. The angry dragon roll is our favorite by far. I wish there were more special rolls that would only have shrimp and crab as the base (like the angry dragon roll) bc I can't have all types of fish but the sushi is great. There's also this crab tempura app in the chef special selection that is so flavorful which we love! It's a cute cozy spot for a sushi date with friends or loved ones. The staff is also friendly and the service is attentive.

Been here twice in the last month and each time left full and happy. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating. The all you can eat menu is great and the quality of ingredients is good. Each signature roll comes out with 6-8 large pieces. The rolls are big and delicious. The restaurant is small with maybe 12 tables and may feel out quick but if you have a taste for sushi it's worth the wait Must try appetizer for me is the sesame balls. I am also a huge fan of the nigiri and their selection is great. Don't forget to finish the experience with red bean or green tea ice cream

Not big on AYCE at my age. Usually I feel like the quantity over quality isn't worth it. BUT, this place has ikura as part of their selection. And it was pretty good. I feel like I haven't seen that at other sushi buffets, so that was unique enough to make the place stand out to me. I would steer clear of the fried items, the batter is kind of heavy and just not worth filling up on when you can have nigiri. The fish quality itself is what you expect. But it really is a good deal. Cute inside. Not super big, but enough space if you want to go with a big group during the day. The waiters were all very nice and attentive. Not worth driving out of your way to go here, but if you're in the area, then it's pretty good place to get your sushi fix!

On a rainy day, me and my sister were craving the best food ever: Sushi. As we walked in we got seated right away. Service is good and quick. Me and my sister ordered a couple sashimi and 3 rolls. Got our food in 15 minutes. (ALL YOU CAN EAT) Ambiance was calm and music was great, lots of old and new trendy songs, it's dim and relaxing, love the artwork on the walls and comfortable seating. First complaint I have is the water. When we got it I noticed a black spec floating in the water. We weren't sure what it was, but if I were to guess, I could've been mildew. We asked for a now cup and it didn't have any, but it seems that the cups had stickers inside of them and the residue wasn't removed which can peel off with a straw and leave micro paper floating in the water. We decided to drink from our own water bottles at that point... Appetizers were good, edemame was tender, chewy and perfectly salted. Fried oyster is crunchy in the outside soft and melts in your mouth on the inside. Baked mussel was okay, chewy but bland, and overpriced. (2 for 6.50?) The sushi came in 15 minutes and the servings were huge. The Philadelphia roll was filled with salmon and cream cheese and it was so soft and creamy. Love it! The sashimi was super fresh. Not fishy at all. Best sashimi I've had in a while. We enjoyed it so much we decided to get a second round! (Disclaimer if you do AYCE: every roll you can only get 3 sashimi)

What a pleasant surprise, this is a made to order all you can eat sushi restaurant. The selection was very good and fish was fresh and tasty. Only complaint was the nori was not the best quality but for all you can eat it was just fine. Atmosphere was very nice and the wait staff was attentive. Went during the week and only 4 tables were occupied. Next time in Chicago will be back for sure.

Cute place in a very crowded strip mall. We did have to circle a few times to find parking. We were promptly seated, but the restaurant was fairly crowded. It did take a little bit to get our food. The waitress was hustling. It seemed like she had the entire restaurant. All you can eat! For under $30 per person. Cute place.

2nd time here, first review. Great place for great sushi. It's in the corner of a strip mall, and it's easy to miss. If you get here late or on the weekend, parking can be hard to find. It's a decent size restaurant. They offer all you can eat, which I totally suggest. Depending on your order, don't be surprised or mad if service takes a bit. They don't have a large staff, and some sushi rolls are time-consuming. The sushi is flavorful, colorful, and aesthetically pleasing. Give this place a try.

We are back again! Craving sushi and we knew just the place. My gosh the sushi is fantastic. Every roll was beautifully presented, excellent quality and delicious. So impressed by this little casual restaurant tucked away in a small shopping center. We ended up doing the all you can eat however you can also order off the menu. The service we received was friendly and attentive. Great experience,

3 stars. No reservations needed as they take first come first serve. Located in a plaza next to Katy's dumpling restaurant. I like the variety of sushi rolls compared to another suburban location. I filled up on the appetizer as they were all delicious. The dessert was okay but my friend ordered the green tea mochi and it did not taste right due to freezer burn. She told the waiter and asked if they could switch it to another flavor and said no. Which sucks. The service could be better. They are addamit about you can only share with others that are also doing ayce. The ambiance is nice. Overall it's just okay here.

This place has gone through a number of makeovers over the years but it is decidedly a sports bar vibe where you enter the space and traditional restaurant in the back area. Overall a very casual and lively vibe. We waited about 15 minutes with a packed house and were seated in the restaurant portion in a very spacious booth. Our server was prompt, courteous, pleasant, and efficient--attentive but not overly so. The food was excellent with very ample portions at reasonable pricing with many options under $20. I will say they could skip the bread basket before your meal comes out and just put it into giving you a side with the sandwiches versus charging you $2 for each side added. That being said the food came out promptly, was warm, and very satisfying. Hopefully Chuck's keeps value for customers' hard earned buck in mind and they will continue to do well.

They also feature an extensive craft beer selection. I went with the seasonal Abita Bad Mother Shucker Stout, which was a fun nod to Mardi Gras and a solid stout choice for the occasion. For my entrée, I ordered the Mardi Gras Platter ($32.99). It included: * Choice of soup (I chose the seafood chowder) * Shrimp Creole * Jambalaya * Chicken Étouffée * Crawfish & Shrimp Monica * Broccoli The restaurant was busy, which is understandable for Fat Tuesday, but our food took quite a while to arrive. The soup was delivered at the same time as the platter. In my opinion, the soup should have come out first. Ironically, the seafood chowder ended up being the highlight of the meal--rich, flavorful, and well-balanced. Unfortunately, by the time I finished the soup and moved on to the platter, most of it was only room temperature. The items were layered and grouped together in a way that made it unclear what paired with what. The chicken was noticeably overcooked and lacked depth of flavor. It tasted as though Cajun seasoning had simply been sprinkled on top rather than developed into the dish. Overall, the platter lacked the bold, authentic Cajun flavor profile I was expecting. The Crawfish & Shrimp Monica was advertised as coming in a bowl but was served in what amounted to a cup-sized portion. The menu description listed Cajun Alfredo sauce, crawfish, crab, blackened shrimp, pasta, Parmesan cheese, and broccoli. After mixing in the Parmesan, I searched for the seafood components and found none--no visible crab, crawfish, or blackened shrimp in the pasta. I mentioned this to the bartender, who said they would bring some out to add in. A few minutes later, three Cajun shrimp were delivered. There was still no crab or crawfish. While the Alfredo sauce and pasta themselves were very good, the absence of the advertised proteins significantly hurt the dish. Had I ordered the Crawfish & Shrimp Monica on its own for $24.99 and received the same portion and lack of seafood, I would have been extremely disappointed. Overall, while the concept and menu sounded promising for Mardi Gras, the execution--especially at that price point--left a lot to be desired.
