This is one of my favorite sushi restaurant in all of Riverside. I've tried their happy hour before coronavirus and I tried it again for takeout now. I dined in three times so far and every experience has been pleasant. All servers are nice and there seems to be no rush or chaos here. This is the best place for sushi! It's delicious! My favorite roll is the Meat n Taters. It's shrimp tempura inside and steak outside covered in fried sweet potato strings. So yummm. The OMG roll is also a favorite of mine. So flavorful with the cilantro and the mango on the salmon... always friendly when we go. This place... might I say... is absolutely amazing. My husband and I often come here to enjoy fine cuisine. Our personal favorite may be considered basic to many but it is the california roll. We also love getting the gyoza because the two dishes are a perfect blend of hot and cold food. Overall, every time I come to this establishment, I'm always left amazed by the food. I was on a business trip with one of my DRM's and we were visiting clients and didn't know where to eat. We were craving sushi & bento boxes and came up on Sushi R91. Not only was the service A+ so was the food. This restaurant has a great ambiance to it and was very clean & nicely built. The food was fresh as well as the presentation. I have eaten a lot of sushi. This is one of the best Japanes restaurants in Riverside. The menu has an extensive selection, the rolls are artful, but the best part is the quality nigiri and sashimi. Well, that is the best part of the food. It is the DRAFT Sapporo that seals the deal for me. I have brought several groups here as they also have a nice selection of cooked food for those not as fond of the raw style as I am. The 3 item bento box with salmon, tempura and a spicy tuna or California roll was popular with those friends. I can't wait to hit the happy hour there. I ordered via Postmates and my order was delayed. I get it. No harm done. The Shrimp Tempura roll and the California roll were good. The Baked Lobster roll was not yummy. The sauce had a flavor unlike any other baked lobster roll I've ever had. That's the reason for the reduced star. Next time, I'll stick to the Shrimp Tempura and Cali roll. read more

Nice find in Riverside. The sushi good, not the best I ever had but good, the rolls were a little sloppy and the service was a little slow but I was happy with finding a decent sushi places close by. We got 4 rolls for $50 and they were pretty filling. My favorite was the Hawaiian and Mango Tango. We will give them another shot during happy hour. read more

The sushi, menu, environment and staff are all quite nice. I ordered a nigiri 10 piece and enjoyed most of it but there was a dab of thick green sauce on the last three that was not that great. The flavors of everything were on point! Even the simple California roll had so much flavor! The heart attack was great! Even though it was a to go order the food presentation was still good! My fav sushi place. This place is delicious and has great workers. This place has a great vibe and great music.

Overall this place was a pretty good sushi place. We had order takeout due to the restrictions in place to handle the pandemic. The service was very fast and friendly and the sushi was very fresh and rolled well. My biggest complaint was just how messy the rolls really were. So much sauce and meat pulled on top that it made it almost impossible to pickup without dropping toppings all over. It's a good bang for you buck kind of sushi place in an area that's frankly limited when it comes to sushi. I'm sure we'll be back again. read more

All the dishes came out was very carefully presented. I had the salmon hand roll and it was just succulently melt-in-your-mouth quality salmon. Surprisingly, the veggie roll with asparagus and sprouts from the veggie lunch was amazingly seasoned. Loved the Agedashi tofu too. Very filling. Shrimp tempura was delicious. Good quality shrimp. Fresh oysters were a little disappointing. Not a fan of too much seasoning/toppings on oysters. The drop of hot sauce takes attention away from the briny notes of the oyster. I feel like a quality oyster stands on its own without dressing it up. Udon was ok. Their speciality is definitely fresh quality sashimi and rolls. I'll be back! read more

Right when you walk in the place looks amazing. All the employees were kind and welcoming. When we were seated they handed us the menu and wow there was a lot to choose from. There was something for everyone. I have a family who doesn't particularly like sushi but they have a great selection of meats, vegetables, bento, and more. I was excited to try this place out till I had to wait over 30 minutes for my sushi. Their excuse was you ordered baked roll and deep fried roll that's why it's taking so long. I said it's just sushi it's not a science project . It really irritated me and my wife seeing people sat like 10 minutes after us eating sushi. Then they tell me to come in when it's slower. My husband and I got carryout from this place once. The sushi was just ok. Not terrible, not great. The rolls were made very sloppy and falling apart but the taste was good enough. update: came in weekend at 10pm and they told me they are closed and turned me away. it was just me and someone else we were only two people so i don't know why we got turned away? i've came here so many times before and never expected this to happen. honestly bad service to be honest. we clearly came in before closing time at 10:30pm and we didn't even get a table. food might be decent but this kind of service is horrible. if you want to close 30mins early maybe update your restaurant hours to closing at 10pm. i will no longer be coming to this place. it's shameful and embarrassing business practice. there's better sushi in the area and i only came here since it's very close and convenient but being treated badly, not worth. i'll just put in the extra time to go eat at a better sushi place with good service as well. read more
