Tonight was the 3rd and FINAL terrible experience with this restaurant. I ordered dinner for my wife and I through Postmates, which I will never do again. The order almost an hour longer than the original estimated delivery time. The Postmates app said that they restaurant had delayed the order and that their driver was at there waiting for the food. At one point I called the restaurant and was told that the food had been ready for while, but that no one had come to pick it up. When the food finally arrived, the appetizer was missing. More annoying than that, I ordered a sashimi dinner (raw fish) and they didn't bother to provide chopsticks, soy sauce, or wasabi. I actually got in my car and drove to the place. The restaurant was completely EMPTY...I'm assuming because of the coronavirus situation. I asked to speak to the manager and explained everything. He told me that he couldn't help me with the appetizer and that I had to go through Postmates to request a refund. I didn't even get an apology, he just brushed it off. I also complained about the chopsticks, soy sauce, and wasabi. He put some chop sticks and soy sauce in a bag and gave it to me. As I was walking out I noticed that he didn't give me any wasabi, so I had to go back and ask again. It was a very disappointing experience. When this place opened, I thought they were going to hurt business for Shibui, which is close by. But I have to say that I've been ordering from Shibui for many years and have never had a bad experience. Another time we ordered dinner for some friends that had come over and I went to pick it up. Our order was supposed to come with 3 side salads with ginger dressing. One of the salads only included a quarter of a tomato and half a cucumber. Nothing else. Again, all the chopsticks and soy sauce were missing from the order. (They staple the brown paper takeout bags shut so if you don't open them up and check everything, you won't notice what's missing until you get home.) The first time we went to this restaurant for dinner, we had to ask 5 or 6 times to get more water. Everyone had a different answer about who was supposed to help us with this. After we were visibly annoyed, one guy dropped off a small carafe of water that was about 1/3 full, just left it on the table and walked away. This place really needs to get its act together. First time visit for lunch yesterday. The food was excellent but the service was above and beyond. The manager went out of his way to make sure we were happy with our food. This type of Service is very rare these days. Will definitely be visiting again. read more

I went in with a group on MLK day. Before I arrived, I called to make sure they were open and I asked if they had lunch specials (the lady answered yes to both). The waiter came over several times while we were looking at the menu and asked if we were ready. When we started to order, the guy told us there were no lunch specials bc it was a holiday. I told him I had called prior and he told me those were the rules!. I was really tempted to leave but we had all ordered drinks by this point. So, anyway, what I thought would be a $10 hibachi chicken special ended up costing me over $20, and it was pretty mediocre. Needless to say, I won't be back. read more

My Wife and I had a disappointing experience when ordering plates based on the pictures on the menu. I Ordered a pineapple dish that included shrimp, steak and chicken. My wife ordered another chicken dish. Presentations when we received the dishes were questionable. In the menu, picture showed whole pieces of (4) shrimp on top of the pineapple bowl, reality was 4 pieces of one shrimp instead hidden in my rice, Picture of menu showed large chunks of steak, reality was 4 pieces of one steak cut up from a size of a table spoon hidden in my rice. Chicken? Oh yes had to put my snorkel on and dive in the rice just to find one or 2 pieces. I explained to the assistant manager, he tells me that its corporate that changed everything recently. He offers to speak to his superior (on a phone call) and comes back and apologizes and says there is nothing they can do. With that being said, there is nothing I can do but to not return any longer. You lost my business and this wasn't my first time there. We wont get into my wife's dish. I've been a sushi sake lover for a while now until 06/10/22, I ordered lunch for pick up at the 72nd location, and let me just say the food was nasty..... the rice was VERY hard, the meat wasn't cooked, the chicken wasn't cooked either, i called them to get a refund and the manager Gonzalo del Rio told me he would come to my job to pick up the DISGUSTING food, mind you this guy didn't even offer to bring us a replacement which we didn't want either way, the unprofessionalism is beyond ME, this guy took the time out of his day to come 20 minutes to pick up food instead of checking on his chef who is clearly not doing something right because all the reviews are the same. Came here on a weekday and had a great experience!! The lovely bartender Gabi took care of me with the utmost attention and made me the best drinks. I also ordered three pieces of sashimi and special fried rice which all tasted and were presented amazingly! I asked to thank management for the food and drink experience and met Antonio and Brian the managers at the time, and couldn't have asked for more pleasant gentlemen. I have to say this experience was one of the best I've had in a long time. I will definitely be coming back and would recommend to anyone in or around the area to come and check them out! read more

Me and my date arrived and were immediately seated by a very short hostess. 10 minutes I got up to complain about the lack of service to three guys that were flirting with the hostess. 20 minutes after we got there, we got up and left. It was my first time coming to this location and my first experience at a Sushi Sake. All I can say is that it will be my last time. From the time we got there to the time we left was about one hour and a half. It took longer for our food to arrive than for us to eat.. it took us 10 minutes to eat and we didn't even finished our food. Are veggies supposed to be burned? Is fried rice supposed to be wet? Horrible lunch service today 1230 pm on January 3 2020. Caught the hostess taking selfies with her tongue out as I was eating . Pretty tacky for a restaurant to have a hostess doing that it made me not even want to eat . Food came out before the soup I ordered . Meat was chewy I also added a 18$ lobster to my meal and the hand roll was ok . I've came here about 5 times and the service is always pretty slow and I've never seen even one side of the restaurant packed only about 4-5 tables at the most , there should be no reason for mistakes or delays or forgetting about a customers meal . but I tried giving it one more chance because I do like the food (except this day was not good ) but this time Was the last time I'll return . I typically spend about 60-100$ every time I go eat there alone and I won't be returning . No reason servers shouldn't be aware of what should come out first . Bringing me an entire hibachi meal before the soup then having me ask for it was the last straw . Sorry Not ready for business at all . I used to love coming here out of all the sushi sakes this was my favorite but lately food is loosing its good taste and the customer service has declined greatly. I walk in there to pick up my order the restaurant is empty and it takes about 10 minutes before someone comes out of the kitchen to acknowledge you. The food is sitting outside and not a single employee around. It's a shame. Enjoyed the dragon roll. Very good. However i ordered the miso egg drop soup and it okay to say the least. Basically its water with egg in it and not as thick or creamy. There was no veggies such as carrots or green onion, but the roll i enjoyed a lot. read more
