I absolutely enjoyed my late lunch at this restaurant. I picked this place randomly because of its high rating on Google Reviews, and it did not disappoint me at all. The restaurant is big, it looks nice inside, and everything was perfectly clean. My friend and I were seated right away, around 4 p.m. By the way, there is plenty of free parking around the restaurant. Our waiter was a very sweet and friendly guy who served us quickly. All the staff seemed nice, and I also noticed that just younger people were working there. The menu is pretty big, with a large selection of different Japanese dishes. Luckily, there was a Happy Hour menu, so we decided to try rolls from that menu. We ordered the California Roll, JB Roll, and Miami Heat Roll. Every single roll was delicious! The fish in each roll was extremely fresh! The rice was cooked very nicely - it was pretty soft. Anyway, we really enjoyed the food. We both agreed that the JB Roll was our absolute favorite, so I highly recommend ordering it. For drinks, we ordered Peach Iced Tea, and it was good and very flavorful; maybe a bit too sweet, to be honest. Refills for the iced tea were free. Honestly, I don't really remember the prices on the regular menu, but the Happy Hour menu prices were very reasonable. For example, the JB Roll was just $7, which was a great deal! Plus, the portions were big. Two rolls per person were absolutely enough to feel full and satisfied. I am definitely interested in coming back to this restaurant again to try more items from the menu. I absolutely recommend this place if you're looking for Japanese food. By the way, this restaurant is a chain, and you can find it all over Miami if you don't want to travel all the way to the Sunset area, which is not very convenient.

Sushi SakeSushi Sake has multiple locations in South Florida but this location stands out because they have a full bar and exclusive items not available from others. The place is very spacious and beautifully decorated. Also, they have plenty of parking since it's located in a shopping plaza. Let's talk about the food that we ordered. We basically just shared some appetizers and entrees recommended by our server Roberto which was terrific. Very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. The presentation of each dish was gorgeous. Also, everything tasted superb. I loved their own version of the ceviche served in a martini but my favorite was the tuna tostones, sexy fish, and seafood comboy hibachi. And also the drinks were fabulous. I hight recommend the Passion Solution and the Mystique but they also have a good selection of sake and wine. I've been to other Sushi Sake locations before and this really was by far the best one and bigger too. This is the perfect choice for dinner with family and friends. Here's what we ordered: SEAFOOD COMBO HIBACHI Cold Water Tail Ocean Scallops and Shrimp, fried rice SEXY FISH Torched salmon nigiri TUNA TWISTED TOSTONES Jalapeño, pickled onions with housemade cilantro sauce over crispy tostones BEEF NEGIMAKI Thinly Sliced Meat Rolled with Scallions and Served with our House Teriyaki Sauce RENE'S SALAD Organic Greens, Salmon, Imitation Krab, Avocado, Sesame Seeds with Our Homemade Special Sauce MANGO LOKO ROLL Krab, fish, katsu, shrimp tempura topped with mango, spicy mayo & eel sauce HOTATE Fresh scallops CEVICHE TSUNAMI Seafood ceviche martini PALOMA DE LAURA Mi Campo tequila, lime, grapefruit PASSION SOLUTION Yuzu sake, tequila, passion fruit, agave, thyme MYSTIQUE Gin, vermouth, lime, cucumber BLUSHING GEISHA Vodka, brandy, St Germain, raspberry is a very popular chai

The food and drinks are consistently amazing. I've been coming here since they first opened (I believe back in 2014), and I'll keep coming back. Their menu is packed with bold, flavorful dishes, an impressive cocktail selection, and honestly, they were one of the places that got me through COVID! From the pizzas to the entrées, everything is outstanding. I celebrated my birthday here just last week, and as always, it was excellent. The churrasco is consistently tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The mushroom risotto is rich, creamy, and bursting with earthy mushroom goodness. For dessert, we shared the warm banana bread with salted caramel ice cream, and wow... I still can't stop thinking about it. Whether it's happy hour, lunch, dinner, or a special occasion, Finka never ever ever disappoints. After all these years, it's still one of my favorite spots in Miami, and I recommend it to everyone looking for a memorable lunch, dinner or happy hour, do it right and come to Finka.

Unfortunately, today was a very different experience. It took about five minutes for anyone to acknowledge us, even though the bar wasn't busy. I ordered an Old Cuban Old Fashioned, one of my favorites, and was surprised to see the bartender use his hands instead of tongs to put the ice into the glass. I ended up sending the drink back because the glass was dirty. The second drink was made by another bartender, and again, I noticed him using his hands instead of tongs to handle the ice. The food was still great, but after today's experience, I'll definitely be paying much closer attention to how my drinks are prepared. I've always had a great experience at Finka, which is why today was especially disappointing. I hope this was just an off day and not a change in their usual standards.

I first discovered Bangkok Bangkok after moving to Miami 33 years ago and probably dined here 30 times over the following 15-20 years, usually with my husband and occasionally with groups of friends. It was widely regarded as one of South Florida's best Thai restaurants. It was expensive for us, so we came every few months when we wanted a genuinely special meal. And special it was. There was nearly always a crowd waiting at the entrance. The dining room was full, with tablecloths, cloth napkins, fresh orchids, Thai art and soft music. The lovely servers wore elegant traditional Thai dresses, and their gracious service and tableside presentations made dinner feel like an occasion. I hadn't been back in at least 10-12 years, but when choosing somewhere special for my new husband's birthday, I thought immediately of Bangkok Bangkok. He had never been, and I couldn't wait to introduce him to it--especially my old favorite, Little Big Man. That whole fried snapper was once the most expensive dish on the menu at $25; it is now $45. The rest of the menu has risen accordingly, but I was prepared to pay for the Bangkok Bangkok experience I remembered. Unfortunately, that restaurant no longer exists. The space is perhaps one-third its former size. We arrived shortly after 6:30 on a Friday evening and found only one diner in the restaurant. A casually dressed man in a worn T-shirt told us to sit wherever we wanted and dropped two menus on the table. The little room was stark and brightly lit, with bare faux-wood tables, paper napkins, inexpensive rolled silverware and a tired sprig of chrysanthemum in each bud vase. Instead of soft background music, an oldies radio station played 1980s music interrupted by advertising. I have eaten in more inviting food courts. No other dine-in customers arrived during the hour-plus we were there, although a couple of takeout orders were collected. The heartbreaking part is that the food remains very good. The $16.95 beef satay was tasty and fun to grill tableside, although both the beef skewers and accompanying sauces seemed smaller than I remembered. The beef Massaman curry--$23.95 in the restaurant, versus $22.95 for beef through the restaurant's online ordering menu--was delicious and spiced exactly as requested. Little Big Man was still divine. The whole fried snapper was brought out sizzling, carefully deboned tableside and finished with the wonderful Thai sauce that makes this dish memorable. At $45, however, the fish was rather small. We were also pleased to find a respectable $34 bottle of red wine. Service was functional but completely lacking the graciousness that once distinguished Bangkok Bangkok. The wine cap was unscrewed and a little poured into each glass; we served the rest ourselves. When we took some curry home, we were handed a clamshell and packed it ourselves. Then the bill arrived with an automatic 18% service charge. Our total was more than $150. I don't object to spending $150 on an excellent birthday dinner with beautiful surroundings and attentive service. But this felt like premium special-occasion pricing attached to a bare-bones takeout operation with a few tables in front. As delicious as the food was, we couldn't wait to leave--and it made me genuinely sad to compare the experience with the Bangkok Bangkok I remembered. The kitchen has survived, and I'm glad it has. We may try the food again as takeout. But I can no longer recommend Bangkok Bangkok for a celebration or an enjoyable evening out. Go for the food, particularly Little Big Man and the Massaman curry--not for the dining experience.
