This restaurant discriminates. I saw an unkempt gentleman quietly minding his own business at a table. He ordered teriyaki chicken. He was not impaired. when he ordered a vodka soda he was carded, mind you this gentleman was easily 75 years-old. They refused to serve him, because he would not be humiliated by pulling out his id. This establishment discriminated based in how the patron appeared. It was appalling. I will also say our server was impaired. He was clearly in cocaine or meth. The server didn't bring us chopsticks, ginger or wasabi with out sushi. We had to get up and go to the sushi bar three times to get the basics. The server also told us inappropriate descriptions of his sex life and hid behind the menu to show my family photos in his phone. They made a mistake on my order, charged me three times for one order, told me the food was being prepared while I waited over 30 minutes for an order I placed over the phone only to find out they hadn't started but only after I asked for a status update on the food. It's fine for simple misunderstanding to happen but they didn't acknowledge the error, they avoided eye contact with me while I waited, I had to deal with four different employees because I would ask one a question and be ditched with no answer, and zero apologies were offered. The customer service here is horrible. I have called in to confirm what time they offer dine-in service and twice now I've shown up only to be turned away. They advertise that they have the best happy hour menu in town on their website, as well as, their front door and when you ask for the happy hour menu they tell you they no longer have a happy hour menu. They've supposedly increased their menu prices and haven't updated any of their menus. I had received a letter from the Oregon Health Department asking if myself or anyone I ate with has gotten food poisoning from this restaurant. Overall, not worth it. One of the worst dinner experiences I've ever had. And it's sad because I've been to Sushi Seoul once before and had a pleasant experience. We made reservations for my daughters birthday, there were only 6 of us so it wasn't as if we were a large table. We ordered drinks and appetizers which took a long time to get to the table. We ordered 2 of the Vietnamese app plates, had to send one back because it had fruit flies crawling on the food. Our server was terrible. She ignored us the majority of the time frequently walking in the area and not stopping by. And the dining room was EMPTY! She never (in 2 hours) asked anyone at the table if we wanted to order another drink. The entree's arrived an hour and 20 minutes into dinner, all arriving at different times. The sushi was terrible, falling apart, flavorless. 3 different people ordered sushi, sitting at different locations and they brought all of the sushi on one plate? I asked for real crab in my California roll which was inedible due to the overflowing amount of mayonnaise. The teriyaki chicken was dry with barely any sauce. And the worst part was my dinner. I ordered the beef Pho which arrived 1 hr 40 min into dinner, everyone at the table had already finished eating what was edible. The smell of the Pho was nauseating. It smelled like rotten meat, and looked like dog food. So I sent it back and didn't eat. When the waitress finally brought our check (after being there for 2hrs) she explained to me that she had removed the Pho from the check (she didn't remove the California roll I told her was inedible). Owner had the audacity to argue with me, after my food had been sitting getting warm for 40minutes. I placed an order, called & the server confirmed my food was being delivered. It was never delivered nor did they call to let me know I in fact had to pick it up. Then I had to wait to make sure payment was processed before I was allowed to leave with my hot sushi. They had huge, noticeable intestine tracks running through the entire roll. When we complained, we were told "that's just how we prepare shrimp". Old Sushi Seoul needed some major remodeling (it used to be a coffee shop; had small kitchen and furniture and decor were awful), instead they decided to move to a fancy spot in downtown! This was our old favorite restaurant and now in the new location it's even better! For the price, Sushi Seoul is really hard to beat for how good of quality you get. HUGE-ass menu too, with many Korean dishes. The Bibimbap and Chicken Bulgogi are my favorites. Sushi itself is great too, Dragon Roll and Red Moon are some of the most popular classics. Steve has got it down to science. The owners are some of the sweetest people you will ever meet and the service has always been great. Beautiful scenery and lighting, a nice bar, high end feel but affordable prices for delicious food. 10/5 will eat again. read more

Sushi Seoul is Sushi with Soul! This is a fantastic location with wonderful atmosphere. The lighting, tables and bar are all configured well with additional somewhat secluded seating spots. The Sushi is great quality with generous portions. Service was ok in that timely acknowledgement of customers seemed to depend on the staffing for that day but no biggie unless you wanna catch a nearby show. Customer service is top notch, our server wasted no time to make recommendation on the menu since we are new to all this. We ended up ordering two entrees (Udon and Ramen) and a sushi roll to share. Salmon Crown sushi roll came highly recommended... But I was not impressed. It looked and tasted fairly similar to the ones served in more affordable sushi restaurants in town, but it costs way more. My boyfriend enjoyed his Udon, but I had a hard time with my Seafood Ramen. There was definitely a miscommunication about the ramen - while I was expecting the traditional Japanese ramen, what I got is the type of ramen that a lot of college students survive on. It feels like an underground speakeasy cocktail lounge in Seoul, so its easy to forget you're in Eugene. The back bar has to be the coolest in town. Whoever did the quirky art installation nailed it. The sushi is some of the best in town- always spot on. Then there is the rest of the menu. You could eat here everyday for 3 months and not have the same thing twice so obviously I haven't had everything but what I have has always been good.
