Excellent sushi! The fish tasted fresh, and flavorful, and they even had wild caught salmon! Great service as well.

I have been here 3 different times and all three times I've had a bad experience. Their prices have gone up considerably and now charge $3 to add tempora flakes to a roll or to add any sauce on the side. Their food is not anything great and the service is rude. We weren't allowed to sit on the patio because the waitress didn't want to go outside. Everytime we ordered something it was met with a rebuttal by he waitress. I'll never recommend this place and never return. My gf and I eat sushi out atleast twice a week so we know good sushi and she is a server as well and I have worked in restaurants. We understand one bad experience but if it repeats it's obviously the place and not us as we've given it multiple chances. So disappointing and a waste of money. The rolls are small, the rice is not cooked well and the food has a lack of flavor profile. They need a new chef and better servers with a nicer attitude. $30+ for a spicy crab roll and spicy tuna roll and a small ginger salad that are not anything special or great is not a deal. read more

Ate there the other day for the first time and the fish was VERY fresh and everything was delicious. I was very impressed with the food! I would have given them 5 stars, except the servers were rather rude. When we walked in there wasn't anyone at the front to help seat us so we just sat down at a table. After about a minute, a waiter asked if we had a reservation, when we said "no" he rudely told us we could only eat outside or at the bar. My wife and I literally saw the same exact thing happen to 3 other couples throughout the night. Honestly, it wasnt that bad, I just dont understand why they dont have a hostess. I will definitely be going back because the food was so good, and now that I know about the seating policy it shouldnt be a problem. read more

This place is small but has great decor. It is pricy but has hands down some of the best sushi in the area. I recommend the Ichigo roll, it feels a little out there with strawberries in a sushi roll but it was amazing. I can't wait to go back try some of their other off the wall offers. read more

This is my second review of a sushi place in Boynton Beach. And yes, I went to both in less than 24 hours. And yes they are both amazing. But totally different experiences. This place has excellent atmosphere and is definitely not a strip mall sushi joint. Even though it's in a strip mall. I'm pretty sure everything here is in a strip mall. This place is not your average, every day average priced sushi. It's effing amazing but not cheap. Worth every damn penny. I went with two other people and between the three of us, we got three rolls, three salads and one drink and spent $80 with tip. Not terrible but certainly not something I'd do every day. The fish was incredibly fresh and presentation was superb. The one thing that bugged me (it actually bugged me so much that I almost knocked them down a star but changed my mind at the last minute) was the wasabi. It did not at all mix into the soy sauce. The girl I was with said that it was just really fresh but it was like grated or something and not mashed so it didn't mix. Maybe that's just me being a whitey though and not getting how it's supposed to be done japanese style. Having come back recently from Seattle after living there for 11 years, Sushi Simon was the best we have had in Florida. We have amazing sushi in Seattle so it was really hard to compare but Sushi Simon was wonderful. Fantastic all the way around. I am so sad to write this review. This place has the best sushi I've found but last night was just a weird inappropriate experience. We ordered all of rolls and when I tasted the Rainbow Roll to my surprise it had cream cheese in it (never in the years and years I have eaten a Rainbow Roll has any of them anywhere have had cream cheese) I don't like cream cheese in my rolls, so I went to find our wait person. I explained that I didn't like it. She then told me that if I refused it that my waiter would have to pay for it, really ....... First that's your company's issue not mine..... Second what now I should feel bad and eat something I don't like????? Well I said I'm sorry but I won't eat it. If you have ever been here you'll know this place IS NOT inexpensive rather it is very expensive. I then had to (again) go look for my wait person to order another roll. We were sitting outside. When we got the bill There was the roll ????? Ok so they took off a few dollars but really ??? We spent $175 there that night YES I said 2 people 3 rolls an appetizer and a bottle of cold sake ($50 just for the sake) I am so sad I loved this place but to be treated this way is just not okay read more

Best sushi in Boynton hands down. The staff is always friendly and the sushi is always fresh. They have the most unique combinations of rolls. My guilty pleasure is the super crunch roll and the Kahula chocolate cake! read more

Wow is the sushi fresh. This place is the real deal and as good as some of the best sushi restaurants in NYC. Unlike most Japanese restaurants in fl - this place specializes in sushi (the chef is Japanese and not Chinese or thai like most places) - that should tell u something in itself. The portions are not huge like most places in fl - but living in NYC - was used to it. They don't put a ton of rice to fatten up the sushi - they just concentrate on the fish. Really a great find. First off the fish is fresh as can be, presentation is beautiful and food comes fast even when busy. Reason for 3 stars is this. I ordered several thing from the specials menus. I inquired as too the market price of Toro. Too much so I passed and chose The Rainbow Tartare! Delicious! The had a No Name Roll. I finished my meal and the by that time the restaurant was jammed packed with a wait. My server never stopped once to see if I was ok, needed another beverage or anything. I could have walked out without even paying and they probably wouldn't have noticed for 45 minutes, as thats how long it took to get my servers attention and another 20 when the check came. I almost fell off my chair when I saw my bill. A soda, the rainbow tartare $23, No Nmae roll $ 20 and a few pieces of sashimi $14 Granted the fish was great but not worth over $40 for both. If you feel like waiting forever and getting ripped off then this is the sushi bar for you! You can't modify any of the rolls (at all, not even salmon for tuna), they don't have brown rice, they are very expensive and the service is slow. Have fun with this place. read more

Went there last weekend for dinner with my wife and daughter. I had heard good things. I have been eating sushi for over 35 years. The fish quality was decent and the flavors were good overall. The atmosphere was drab and dark. The portions were extremely small. Everything was OVERPRICED. We felt nickel and dimed for everything. It was 100 dollars for three rolls and drinks, none of which were alcohol. Sickened by the appetizer sized rolls and extreme price we decided to leave and continue eating somewhere else. I would not return to this place until I strike the lottery to pay for this inordinately overpriced meal for decent tasting sushi. read more

This is the best sushi in the area, bar none. The fish is so incredibly fresh and their combinations are amazing. It is not inexpensive, but the quality is so obvious it is worth it. The entire staff is welcoming and the chilled wine glasses finish off the fantastic experience. We recommend it to everyone and we are always told it is the best next to Nobu in all of Florida! Drove all the way to East Boynton for a sampling of Sushi Simon and man, it was worth the trip. I had the Very Sexy Hamachi roll, which could possibly be the best sushi I have every eaten. I also ordered a Bahamian Roll (spicy conch), it was great. The beer selection (I love all Sapporo products) is great. I paired my brew with a hot saki. The whole experience was great. Miso soup is the most simple element of a good Japanese meal. $4 for a cup for watery, flavor-lacking soup is pretty ridiculous. Avoid it if you can. After reading positive reviews about the shrimp dumplings, we went for it, but were severely disappointed. They were soggy, previously frozen tasting and the filling was 60% doughy filler. So, skip those as well. The rolls were the best part of the meal. I've never experienced paying $20 for a roll, but maybe that's normal for these parts. We had the king crab california roll, spicy tuna roll and the ocean dragon roll. They were all pretty good. The spicy tuna roll was had a heavy sesame flavor and little spice. The ocean dragon roll was great. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and the cream cheese was subtle and worked surprisingly well. $18 seems very over-priced, but it's a decently large roll. The lychee martini was light on alcohol, but had a great, not too sweet flavor. I was happy to get 4 lychees in the drink, as well. read more

I've eaten at so many sushi restaurants, it being my favorite food, and Sushi Simon is by far the best of the best. Its located in in a strip mall, but don't let that fool you. The sushi here is very good, especially compared to other restaurants of the same genre in the area. There is a jalepeño roll that has amazing flavor that is very fresh and resembles ceviche. The problem is the prices are very inflated, so much so that I won't go back as the taste cannot trump the cost. read more

My 2 friends and I u had dinner at sushi simon 3 weeks ago. They had 3 empty tabels and chose to seat us at the front door. We requested a seat change and they happily granted our request. Our menu came with specials without prices next to them. We thought that very odd. Also there were no descriptions if the rolls. The waiter wasn't all that friendly. Didn't feel like a really comfortable situation to us. We ordered ice to and got green tea that was very strong and not all that tasty. They replaced it with black tea but by this time the atmosphere at the table was strained. We ordered 2 teas, one wine and 3 rolls. Our total was $86.00 before tax. Not a great experience. The food was tasty but not worth the money. Thumbs down here! read more

If I were on death row, this would be my last meal. I travel 45 minutes to get there. This is hands down the best sushi on the planet. Try the 2008 roll. You won't be disappointed. Food was very good but the attitude was that they did not need our bussiness. The portions were small for the prices. We drove 50 minutes to try this restaurant. We arrived at 9:00 and were seated for dinner. We were asked if it was our first time here which it was. We ordered drinks and 10 minutes later appetizers were ordered. At around 9:30 we ordered some sushi rolls. The portions were small and we wanted to order more rolls and get a refill on drinks but when we tried to do this we were told we missed last call and they would not serve anything else. Not even a drink. Our waitress never came over to ask if we wanted anything else so we could not get any more food, drinks, or dessert. She also never notified us that it was "last call". Wish they would have told us when we arrived that they would only be serving for another 45 minutes as opposed to telling us half way through dinner that we could not order anything else. I always thought that restaurants stop seating people at a certain hour but I thought they usually wait for those seated to compete their meal before they close the kitchen. I would have thought at the very least our waitress would have come over to tell us it was last call or to even ask if anyone wanted coffee or dessert. Nope we were basically told "you're done". Needless to say this was a big turn off and not the best way to treat customers. read more

Wonderful sushi, best I've had since moving here from Florida, which is a shame considering how much fresh fish is here. The price, however, is Nobu expensive. Went for lunch with my 10 year old son, and it was over $80 with tip, and all we had was two rolls, some sashimi and edamame. Of course now that I am writing this review, I am craving it. I have eaten here at least 6 times. It is local and the CAN be good...but not always. Tonight we hit an all time low due to below average food and a horrible server who I suspect is the owner Lucy. We were the only diners (it was early) and she was agitated, rude, and, in the end, indifferent to our feedback. I am in the food business and infrequently write reviews.
