Great spicy tuna! My daughter absolutely loves the cucumber rolls, and the chicken popcorn is a nice option for my picky son.

Up until Sushi Time opened, Dexter had really bad options for eating out. You could get (bad) Pizza from a bunch of places, poor pub food or (the only decent option) Chinese. I hope that Dexter embraces this place and helps keep it in business as it is really good. It is not quite as good as our favourite local sushi place (One World in Novi) but relative to anything in Ann Arbor it is great and good value. So nice to have good Sushi just around the corner. Update: after writing the review I was motivated to return. This time we tried their Bibimbap and Udon, as well as nigiri. Everything was excellent. Highly recommend. read more

Sushi Time is the little sushi place that could. We stopped in because we were on our way to Dexter to check out the cider mill and see whether or not there was an old downtown. Sushi was on my mind, and so sushi is where we headed for lunch. Arriving at the restaurant, we were more than a bit disappointed to discover that we had navigated to a strip mall. Fortunately, our mood brightened as soon as we stepped inside Sushi Time, which was friendly and inviting. I ordered a chirashi lunch, and it totally hit the spot. My co-conspirator got a bowl of noodles in broth with some shrimp tempura on top -- she was pleased as well. I feel the need to be parsimonious with stars because Sushi Time is clearly not the equal of the comparable places that I visit on the West Coast. On the other hand, it was a pleasure to be able to grab a meal of this high quality here in Dexter! The menu at Sushi Time is varied and extensive. I love Sushi Time! It's been open a few years and I love that it's consistently great food, great service and a place that is perfect if I want to eat alone while catching up on work or a place I can show off to out of town guests. I'm a fan of their sushi and Speciality Rolls. I love the Dexter and Dragon rolls. If you visit this little gem tucked in the shopping center near Busch's, don't skip the miso soup or their salad. The food here is phenomenal! I was really surprised to find such great quality sushi here in Dexter. We just moved here and randomly came across this hidden gem. It was not busy at all and the employees were very friendly. My three year old loved the avocado roll and the sweet potato roll. I really enjoyed their miso and my roll( I forgot the name). We have been going to Sushi Time since they opened and have enjoyed it. We placed a to go order tonight for the family, many items totaled just over $50.00. The sashimi appetizer had a very fowl order. I didn't want to drive back so I just called to let them know something is wrong with the "fresh" fish. The owner actually answered and argued with me that I was wrong and then laughed at me. I told him I am now down with his business and he hung up on me!! I don't think it's possible for me to sing the praises of this place enough. This sushi is so delicious. I'm honestly disappointed by most of the sushi places in Ann Arbor because they aren't as good as Sushi Time. If they were open on Sunday, I would be here every single day. The bibimbap is also great, and I can't leave without the seaweed salad and miso soup. In addition to having great food, they have amazing service. Everyone who works there is so friendly, especially Min. I'm greeted by name and with a big smile every time I go in (which is often). There are a few things that I would like that they don't have (like chicken katsu, because my husband won't eat sushi), but I'm interested to watch this place grow. This is my partner and my go-to sushi place. Their TNT roll is hard to beat! (Seriously, I compare sushi from other sushi restaurants to this roll) and I'd definitely recommend it to those who like it spicy. The mood here is quiet and relaxed, most of the time the place is nearly empty, but it seems that they do well with take outs. And personally, the price-to-quality of sushi here is impressive. I'm surprised by other reviewers that I'm reading here who are unfairly comparing this place to some high roller sushi restaurant. If you're looking to pay up the wazoo for fish that's straight off the boat, this isn't the place for you. I've been to sushi restaurants that range from fancy to hipster in Los Angeles, CA; San Diego, CA; Montreal, Canada; and Ann Arbor, MI. All have been at most a comparable experience to Sushi Time, except for the one in San Diego (the fanciest of them all) it was very much a mundane experience. read more

First time ordering take out from Sushi Time. As an Asian who eats sushi often it was fine. I ordered the tempura shrimp, crunch roll, and miso soup. I found the rolls to be quite small compared to many other sushi restaurants I've been too. They tasted fine and were fresh. Put together well, not sloppy. Clean, friendly environment. I seriously HOPE this place can make it in Dexter. In spite of walking in a half hour before they closed we received great, fresh rolls and courteous service. Worst sushi/bee bim bop experience. The nori seaweed wrap in the sushi was chewy like gum and I almost choked on it. The shrimp in the roll tasted like a freezer from when it was frozen. The bee bim bop was made with hamburger and lettuce with a really salty sauce that ruined it. Also there was no egg in it. We returned our entire dinner for a full refund. read more

We've tried Sushi Time three times now and will not be back. The customer service is terrible. We were the only patrons in the restaurant, and they made us sit at the first table by the door. Each time the door opened we were blasted with cold air, so we all had to eat with our coats on. We request to be moved (because it's 10 degrees outside and frigid when the door opens), and they refused. The owner responded by saying it's 72 degrees in the restaurant, so we'd be fine there. We then heard the waitress and owner complaining that we brought food for our nine month old. The food is okay, but we've had better. It was a very disappointing dining experience. read more

Quiet, casual dining spot, with prompt service, but the quality of the sushi and sashimi is unfortunately subpar. Sashimi did not taste fresh at all--as if the fish was thawed, frozen, and thawed again. I ordered sashimi deluxe for $25, but barely ate 1/3 of the platter, given how unpalatable it was. Sushi was overdosed with sauce and rice to fish ratio was overwhelming (I could barely taste the fish). Wish I could have given this a more favorable review, but alas. read more

The sushi is well-made and the fish is fresh. The dishes were prepared quickly and plated well. The value was immense, I was beyond full with just the two rolls I had.
