Hubby was craving sushi last night and we didn't want to cook the day before our memorial day BBQ, so we finally decided to give this place a try. Yelp linked me to their website where I was able to peruse the menu and place an online order. I arrived about 20 minutes later to pay while they completed the order and was greeted by a very gracious lady who made it abundantly clear how much they appreciated our business. Back home, we found that the rolls were amazing. While my husband wished they offered negiri sushi, the sashimi combo made up for that and the pieces were huge. The miso soup turned out to be an instant soup packet - I would not order this again, but my 7-year old was happy. The variety of fish options were limited, but the value was fantastic. I think this will be our go-to for take-out sushi. I don't think I have felt that welcome at any business for a very long time. Salmon rolls have SMOKED SALMON instead of fresh salmon which is a bit misleading since the menu photos show fresh salmon. Also feel like they should at least inform you prior to the order for those fresh salmon lovers out there. If you get a special roll with salmon, then you will get fresh salmon. Just be aware of this. Tuna roll is actual fresh tuna. Server is very nice and friendly. Also take out only. I'm in town for work and was craving sushi. I seen all the great reviews and it was only about 15 minutes away from where I'm working. When I stopped in all dirty and tired the nice lady there started asking questions about why I was so tired and dirty. I told her I've been working 14 hour shifts everyday and will continue to work those shifts for the next 2 months. She said I got nice warm miso soup on the house while we make your sushi. I couldn't believe the hospitality these people had! Now my gf is coming into town and I'm gonna take her there to see the very nice people that this world desperately needs more of! To me, first impression is everything. The quality and taste were not the best! This sushi was awful. I have NEVER had a bad sushi NOR have I ever had left overs when eating sushi. The sushi here was SO BAD ( one word - DISGUSTING)!! Fish was not fresh at all. the sushi tasted and smelled very fishy, and good quality sushi doesn't smell or taste fishy at all. Sushi Time is a great new affordable sushi spot that just opened up in Torrance. It's so good I've eaten there the last three days in a row for dinner. Why is it so great? The staff is so incredibly friendly. Friendly to the point they're like family members or new close friends. The service is lightning fast. They make the food to order while you wait. The price is ridiculously inexpensive. Like less expensive than getting sushi at the supermarket. With that being said it's phenomenal, but if you are looking for higher end stuff like Nigiri this is not the place. If you want basic stuff like California rolls, spicy tuna rolls, Philadelphia rolls... game on!!! That is why it's inexpensive. A lady in line tonight was getting "Karen" on them because they didn't have Nigiri or udon. What do you want for $6???!!! I can't even go to McDonald's for how much the food cost here!!! It's more geared towards take out, but they do have some modest seating where you can eat there. Once again did I mention it's like $6 to eat here???!!! I am sorry that I have to give 1 star review, but I have no choice. If you are an Asian who grow up eating sushi, please stay away from this place because it will definitely disappoint you. Being an Asian myself when it comes to restaurants I can deal with not so perfect bathrooms or emotionless services or cheap interior decos, but what matters the most for me is how food tastes & its quality. This place has none of that. I ordered few rolls and their sushi rice is NOT sushi rice at all. It's gooey mess stuck together, not at all like how sushi rice should be. BIG RED FLAG! And their ingredients are not fresh, never had a dragon roll that's lukewarm and very skimpy. Other rolls were all mediocre at best. I cannot believe this place gets high ratings, which was the reason I went there to try their food. How in the world they've got that rating with such poor quality ingredients and gooey rice is beyond me. I just wasted my money. Don't say I didn't warn you. read more
