Went here after gym. When I entered this place, the waitress gave a look as if I'm coming for the bathroom use. I told her table for 1 please. She raised her eyebrows "you can sit anywhere you want." I could have stayed the hell outta this, but well, I was damn hungry. As I seated myself, playing my phone for 10 mins, no one came to me. I asked that waitress to the front desk for water! And I grabbed myself a menu because, self serve, why the hell not? Then 2 sushi rolls plus miso soup for 10ish, not bad for lunch. The overall quality is mediocre, and the whole experience was horrible, I received no attention from waitress nor waiter. The servers seem to pay more attentions to the Jewish customers, as I later found out it's Kosher sushi place...at the end the waitress gave me the check without a pen nor a word. As I asked the waiter for a pen, he told me payment is electronically using iPad. Ok... total lack of communication & professionalism as server in here (face palm) Anyway, I paid decent tips (~18%) and decided to stay the hell outta this place. read more

Excellent Sushi!!! I have been living in the neighborhood for 1 year, but never tried this sushi restaurant. It is Sunday night, late, (after midnight) and I was hungry and wanted something good. Sushi Tokyo was open when all other spots were closed. I ordered a sushi/sashimi combo for pickup, and when I got home I was very surprised at how excellent the food is! Very fresh, very tasty, this is one of the top sushi restaurants I have ever been in and I have been eating sushi for over 30 years! Very impressed! Delicious, you cannot go wrong here! read more

We were welcomed by friendly staff and a amazing worker named Daniel and escorted to our table. The service was 5 star and very informative and helpful with options on the vast menu. We enjoyed divine sushi for starters which was full of spectacular flavour and then ordered some exceptional dessert including fried Oreos and a fabulous wine menu to match. Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! The worst service. You're better off going up a few blocks to Jin Sushi and Thai at 16th st. They have AMAZING sushi at such a great price. The people are so nice there. So this place..... I ordered a huge order for the office on seamless at 11 am. I received the email that they got the order and were making it. The food was supposed to be at the office by 12:45. Three hours later, 3 HOURS, the food never arrived. No one answered the phone after sitting on hold forever, multiple calls. Now I'm out $80. Absolutely horrendous service. Save yourself the trouble. This place is horrible. You have to ask for service. The free edamame appetizer "they don't do that anymore..." It was a mess, bathroom was gross....people from the street run in to use the bathroom. Terrible. Sushi is not fresh-don't kid yourself. Had a stomach ache after. It is "run" by a bunch of kids who have no idea what they are doing. We are from the neighborhood, but moved. Had no idea it was kosher. My fiancé asked about sake and the waitress gave him a ridiculous look. Ordered our food and appetizers came our after our mains. No room on the table.. One appetizer never came. Waitress had attitude when we asked for utensils. Anything we needed we had to flag her down. Felt like they were treating Jewish patrons better than us... For years I have been eating at sushi Tokyo and what I enjoyed most was the pleasant experience, with affordable sushi. I didn't have to spend 25 dollars to get two rolls of sushi- Manhattan prices. However, that all changed last week when astonishingly prices were greatly increased, with rolls increasing close to 50%. A roll that used to be 8.95 is now 13.95, 4.95 is now 7.95. I think this price increase is the end of the line for me. Additionally, something must be done with their odor. Too many times have friends and family commented "you smell like sushi" End of day- sushi Tokyo has good sushi, is opened late which is helpful, but the price increase and poor odor smell will make me think twice of choosing sushi Tokyo over other restaurants and sushi spots. read more

I've been here approximately 30 times. Their food is amazing. Their customer service? Horrendous. If I wanted to pay $30 for one person's meal and be ignored for 30 minutes, Id come back here. I do come back. I find that this establishment has the best and freshest kosher sushi. The last time I was here, my mother and I receded and did not get attended two until 25 minutes after we sat down. This meant that we did not get our menus until 25 minutes after we sat down. Staff was cursing at a female waitress calling her a bitch. That's just unacceptable and unprofessional. I will never come here again. Ever. The sushi wasn't that good and it was WAY OVER PRICED. $6.00 for a spicy crunchy tuna roll....seriously??? We're in Brooklyn and not some up scale restaurant in Manhattan. Went to the restaurant first time today with my friend and had the Dinner Special for $20. The deal seems pretty good, the decor is modern and the service is casual. The bad thing about it was that the special roll we ordered call the Tazuna Roll was made with different types of sashimi and they were not fresh! A BIG NO NO in Japanses cuisine! The reason I gave 3 stars is because at the end when they packed our leftover they were very generous to put in the bag with sauces, wet napkin and chopstick as if I originally ordered to go. I would probably go back again on a Monday since my friend said it is a Kosher restaurant the fact that they close on Fridays might be the reason why the fishes were not as fresh as they should be. read more

I really have no idea why this restaurant has so many stars. My only conclusion is that people who don't know sushi only know this kind. Spicy tuna that's beige? A king crab roll that isn't even soft shell crab but kani which is a completely different roll? Nothing was fresh everything was disgusting. Couldn't eat it. The only reason this showed up in front of me was because a well intentioned friend wanted to surprise me with my favorite food. I can't believe this place. I come here from out of town to have dinner with a few friends. I walk into the store and the first thing I notice is all the minors hanging around. This place is a nothing short of a high school hang out. I couldn't get a good table for me and my friend because of all the people hanging around there tables. It's not like they where eating still. But rather just sitting around a dirty table Took about 30 min to be seated. Finically the waitress came around to take our order. Says it would take about 15 min until the food comes out. This is reasonable for the amount of people in the resturant. It didn't take that long. But the sweet waiter made the wait easier. Checked in on us constantly to make sure everything was okay. Got the food 35 min after ordering it. Gave this place 2 stars because besides for the place. The kosher sushi was well priced and pretty fresh. I tried the sweetheart roll (spicy salmon crunch, wrapped with salmon tuna and avocado) , yellowtail roll, california rolls and vegetable cigars. I liked this spot! Clean, tasty, quick. Everything I look for in a lunch spot! I'm sure their dinners are nice as well, but we came here for a quick lunch.
