Terrible experience! We would not suggest this place. The staff was really rude to us! We didn't like the food. The rice and chicken had an old taste to it and It was not edible . We told the waitress that the food Had a very old Taste and the manager said : "you have to pay for all of it because it's not a Sample". I explained that we know it's not a sample but we would prefer a discount because we only tasted it. We didn't like the food at all. She argued with us and charged us. My children watched how unprofessional they are as they yelled at us over food. We had just noticed a sign saying you must pay for Uneaten food so be aware before going. My husband is in restaurant management and he watched this whole exchange and immediately noticed their management mistakes . Unprofessional and Poor quality food. I am a Nashville Native and I would suggest any other Sushi Spot honestly in Middle TN. There are some Great places near downtown. We felt nauseous after tasting it. My partner and I always try to visit conveyor belt sushi places when we can, so we were excited to see there was one in Nashville. And Sushi Train does not disappoint, if you know what these types of places are about. Let's be honest. Just like at a buffet, all-you-can-eat stuff is not going to be extremely high quality. But what's exciting is how many different types of rolls you can try. There were many different options, all labeled so you know what you're getting, and even some other fun stuff that wasn't sushi like seaweed salad and edamame. If you're like me and love eating small portions of a bunch of different things, you'll love this place. The ratio of rice to fish was good. The hot stuff was hot and the cold stuff was cold. Loved the variety and appreciated the price -- $25 for all you can eat. Definitely got a good deal out of it. I ate at least six pieces of salmon nigiri. Thanks Sushi Train for a yummy meal! 3 Stars for food, 2 stars for cleanliness. Consider other options. A friend brought me here awhile back. I love sushi, so I was really looking forward to it, especially since this was my first time at a Kaitenzushi style place. I'd always wanted to go to something like that. Plus, she's an incredible person and this was one of our first meetings, so I was h y p e. However, when we went in, I was quickly filled with concerns. The waiting area was disgusting. They literally just opened for the night; there was no excuse for that. I didn't want to sit down, though I did anyways to be kind to the friend I was with. So, horrible first image of this restaurant. We continued on to the eating area, which thankfully, was much cleaner. I bit back my initial hesitation and thought, "maybe this isn't so bad!" Went to wash my hands before the meal and the bathroom smelled awful. Sometimes, it be like that at food service places, I understand, but again, they just opened. The odor of urine should not be that strong. Regardless, with clean hands, I went back to my friend and we talked about each portion of food as it went by. Everything looked nice, was plated well, and there wasn't much I didn't want to try. It all looked great! Our appetites were whet at that point, so we began. Everything I had ended up being pretty good, she seemed satisfied with hers as well. I don't remember anything standing out in particular; you could get this sort of sushi anywhere, or even make it at home. Still, I finished several plates. One thing that concerned me, though, was that most of those aforementioned plates were broken. Literally, smashed right in the center. All I could think was, "I'm going to end up swallowing plastic," and "How much bacteria is harbored in unsealed surfaces like this?" I'm a bit of a clean freak, so this really bothered me, but I can push myself through most anything, especially for food and friends. However, not sure if a health inspector would simply shrug it off. For the prices they charge and how busy they were, they could absolutely afford new plates. Pretty ridiculous imo. We had a pretty cool seat; it was where the sushi first comes out, so we basically got first dibs. We also could look up and see the people who were preparing it. The people who worked there were nice enough. I enjoyed the atmosphere over all. So, if you don't care about cleanliness and you really like sushi (quantity over quality wise), then give it a shot, for sure. Otherwise, maybe find another place to get your fix. This one just isn't worth it imo. Hopefully one day it will be, I really wanted to like it. For now, all I can think of is gross waiting areas, bathrooms that reek, and broken plates. read more

This place is one of the best places for a big group of people or just a small family all you can eat day. Most of the workers speak Chinese and are patient with you if you are working on your mandarin to order. The sushi is on a conveyor belt that goes around the entire place. If you do all you can eat there is no limit and you can also have hibachi. Just make sure that you eat all of it or you will be charged (which is fair) The best seats in the house are half way to the back so that you can get the sushi that nobody else wants. I found it when I googled AYCE sushi in the Nashville area. I've never been to a sushi restaurant with the conveyor belt. It was a fun experience. There aren't a lot of choices on the conveyor belt but for supper you can also choose from an entire menu that comes from the kitchen also. I got the seared pepper tuna off the menu. It' was so good. Our waitress was very kind and kept our drinks filled and our table neat. Was it the best sushi in town? Eh, probably not. Would I go back next time I'm in Nashville? Maybe we are spoiled from good sushi after moving here from Chicago but we were pretty disappointed with the quality. The rolls were rolled pretty sloppily, some had sat in the train so long that the avocado had turned brown, and personally, we felt like, "What's with all the cream cheese?!" The miso soup was yummy. Not sure why this was rated so high on Apple Maps. Combination of things but summed up 1. We were seated and waited over 30 mins for waitress come take our order. 2. Nothing was explained clearly about there are 2 options to either do all you can eat buffet or an actual dinner menu. 3. My son who is 10 wanted to do the kids sushi buffet but after 9 years of age they charge ADULT prices ($24.99). 4. My son was so hungry he started eating a few sushi plates. Instead of just charging us for each color, the waitress and another server made a big deal about it in front of my spouse and son. They only spoke in Japanese but it was absolutely embarrassing. 5. The sushi was not stocked properly on conveyor belt to keep it fresh so even doing the all you can eat sushi was a waste of our money and time. 6. At one point the conveyor belt stopped working and we were holding dishes falling off the belt with sushi on them. Not very organized. 7. The sushi made us feel sick and was cheap quality. 8. Took an hour get my first drink refill. As a parent I recommend NOT dinning in here. The lack of respect, customer service and poor communication is the main reasons I don't want another person to experience this type of service. No manager came to check in on us, no apologies and my son's birthday experience was awful. He felt bad after eating a few sushi plates even though we told them to put those charges on our bill. He sensed the staff arguing were upset. A child should never leave feeling that way. Never AGAIN! Found a killer Groupon & figured I'd give it a shot! The train is awesome & is full of so many options with GREAT descriptions of exactly what is in each roll & if they are raw or cooked! The wait staff was very kind and helpful! The sushi was pretty good, definitely not the best. 3 starts because it simply didn't seem clean! The explanation cards on the train were filthy & super stained. Even with the threat of covid 19, I never saw a spray bottle of cleaner. The host wiped off the table before we sat down but it didn't even seem to have cleaner on it...much less the windows that you reach in to get sushi from! I thought my stomach was going to explode at this place! For $20 you get all you can eat sushi from a conveyor belt. The train takes almost 13 minutes to make a full cycle. You can also order food off a menu instead of waiting on the train. The food menu has more than sushi. You can order tempura, sushi, and other dishes. The dishes from the kitchen are not of the best quality. It takes a while to get the food and the quality of the food is low. The sushi on the conveyor belt is pretty good but you have long stretches of time before good sushi dishes come out. This place will charge you extra if you waste food. Be sure to only grab/order what you can eat. I actually like this practice at a buffet because it keeps people from wasting food and keeps the buffet prices low. read more

Here's the deal with Sushi Train. Is it the best sushi? No. Is it the worst? No. You have to know what you're getting into before you go. The lunch is okay. It's $12.95 for the train only NO red plates. Lots of spicy fish rolls, plain rolls and your typical cheap crustacean style rolls. The dinner is where it's at. It's $24.95 but it's all you can eat dinner MENU. They have an entire menu of Japanese food you can order that's not on the train. So most people go for the train experience... which is fun BUT you can order fresh sushi when you sit down. Lastly, the atmosphere of the restaurant is good. This was one of the first sushi places to really pop up in the Nashville area. It's around 15+ years old and they are in need of a renovation.. I've seen complaints about it being dirty... I've been to so many sushi places and Chinese places they all kind of have that... dingy bathroom in the back... Nothing I haven't seen at a bunch of places. This place is my go to. read more

Do not come hungry - I repeat - DO NOT EAT FOR A WHOLE 24 hours before arriving. This is all you can eat on a revolving sushi conveyor belt. It's some really tasty sushi and appetizers. You have to eat the majority of the plates food that you grab or else you get charged extra. So make sure to arrive hungry and wearing stretchy pants. This place requires a little bit of expectation setting. It's $20/person for all-you-can-eat. This isn't a fancy place and it's not the absolute best sushi. But it's a fun, casual dining spot for when you're super hungry and just want to enjoy a chill meal. Service was quick and attentive. The restaurant was clean yet a little dated. Make sure you understand their policy about leaving food uneaten. I believe it's after 2-3 pieces of food left on the plate, it costs additional money.
