How come the table in the back isn't open to smaller parties? We dine here frequently and it's my sons favor place to sit. However we're told it's for large parties only but no one ever sits back there.

They're being hopeful that a larger party comes. They also don't want a predicament: If you were sitting there and a larger party came, you probably wouldn't want to be told you needed to change tables.

Is omakase still available? If so, how much per person?

Omakase is available every day. The price depends on how many pieces of sushi you want. If you let the server or chef know how many pieces you would like per person, they'll be able to give you a price.

The presentation was pretty amazing. The fish tasted good too, no fishy smell whatsoever, and I thought the tuna was almost translucent and quite pretty to look at. Personally. my favorite was the salmon with the bright citrus garnish. Very yummy. Other than that, I also ordered myself an apple chu-hi and thought it was very refreshing and quite easy going down. I really liked that. Their menu is extensive though, so I'll have to come back and check out the others that caught my eye :)

Sushi doesn't get any better than this, especially in Cypress. So if you're looking to stuff your face with gobs of rice and a sliver of fish, I'm sure you'll find that at your typical AYCE restaurant... ...but If you're looking for QUALITY sushi, this is your place. Sushi World really sets itself apart from the rest. You can see it in the details, from the hand carved flying crane garnishes, to the show Sushi Chef Jason puts on when you dare to try the 4 levels of his homemade hot sauce. These guys are both professionals and artists, and they know what they're doing. Feeling adventurous? Perhaps you're tired of that crunchy roll you always order? Try OMAKASE. Chef Jason will treat you to a world of new flavors!! Seriously... two words. MONK FISH. Who carries that around here?! Granted, it's an acquired taste and perhaps may not suit the taste buds of Average Joe, it's clear that this place carries the good stuff. Amaebi? No problem. Not only are there rare finds, the flavors are delectable! So you're into the cooked stuff. Baked Salmon, California Roll, Shrimp Tempura - they've got all that. Although, you're not going to find last Wednesday's frozen fish slathered in spicy mayo and cheese here!! Oh no. For the "cooked fish preferred" audience, they offer a line of smoked fish entrees. They smoke albacore and salmon in house, and my word, they do wonders with it. So if you're feeling up to the challenge, young padawan, Smoked Albacore Roll and Anaheim Chili Roll might just lure you to the dark side, as in, the raw side. Next time, you might just try something ALMOST RAW. And if so, the seared Tuna on the Black Dragon Roll and or seared Salmon Bentley Roll could be your next entree! The owner is an altruist who is always ready to help the community in anyway he can. I suggest you give this place a try and appreciate sushi for what it truly is, ART. I can't say enough good things. Making a weekly habit of eating here is the easiest thing I've ever done. The chefs are incredibly friendly and outgoing, and so creative it's unreal. I come mainly for the sushi, but the Three Amigos and Cypress Roll are some of my favorite things to eat. One day I'll get around to trying more of the dinner items.. They all look fantastic, but I'm easily distracted by the quality sushi sitting at the bar. Although just last night I tried the shrimp fried rice, and it is HEAVEN. I'm generally not a dessert person, but I haven't tried one on the menu (or off) that hasn't made me feel like a kid at Christmas. It had been my favorite Japanese restaurant for years, but I went today and I'm so disappointed and sad. The fish was still fresh, but it seems like the chef in the kitchen changed, or maybe the type of rice changed -- the sushi rice is supposed to be sticky/ short-grain, but the rice was different and the texture had changed too, which was really disappointing. Also, usually unagi rice bowl comes with plain rice, but today it came with vinegar-seasoned sushi rice, and overall the taste has changed so much that I was completely let down. (they actually pay attention to what their customers have to say) Atlantic Dragon Roll: Salmon inside, Peppered salmon on the outside...delicious Black Dragon: for the tuna lovers, spicy tuna inside, seared tuna outside. Once seated we filled out our sushi order and sat and waited for 15 minutes (meanwhile the two servers working were tending to other tables that were seated after us and bringing out their orders). Finally someone came to our table to take our order. The guy behind the counter was very rude and attempted to overcharge me and tell me that they were not taking the group on certificate that I had paid for. Few people there but the wait was incomprehensible long. About 25 minutes. Suppose they are on "break" at 1.30 pm. No wonder they are advertising so much.
