I decided to visit during a weekend on a whim. The restaurant is located in a small strip plaza with a salon and liquor store. The woman behind the counter was singing and welcomed me with a refreshing disposition. I ordered the Beef gimbap, Spicy Pork gimbap, Half and Half Boneless Chicken, and the pre-made kimchi that was in the fridge. The order of chicken came with fries and extra sauce on the side. There was more batter than meat, fried to a light crisp. The fries were a bit underwhelming as they were soggy and under-seasoned, though understandably so as a vessel for the sauces. The gimbap were delicious with a good ratio from rice to ingredients. Some of the pieces did fall apart when I picked them up, though. The disappointment of the meal was the kimchi. It tasted a bit spoiled as opposed to the sourness that comes from the fermentation process. Definitely don't regret supporting small, family-owned businesses. Really hoping the foot traffic increases soon for them as they seem to be really trying. read more

I ordered the ham kimbap, but the rice was undercooked and hard, and the seaweed was tough and chewy. The kimbap didn't even fit properly in the container, so it was rolling around inside and honestly looked like someone had already been eating it. With tax, it came out to about $7.70 for just one roll, and it definitely wasn't worth the price. I'd rather buy kimbap somewhere else next time. Not recommended. read more

Discovered this hidden gem nearby where I live and can't wait to go back whenever I crave some gimbabs or Korean chickens! Their menu is small because they are very focused and specialized on Tteok-bokki, gimbabs , and chickens. They also sell acariety of Korean side dishes! So happy to see a local mom n' pop shop that specializes in kimbap (Korean seaweed rice roll) in the OC area! The person who took my order was an elderly lady who was sweet and amicable, and the owner himself came out to greet and shared the history of how he started this place after serving 40+ years in the food industry as a chef. What initially drew me to this place (albeit the drive) was that the prices for the kimbap were actually less expensive than that of local Korean markets. I ordered the Spicy Squid Kimbap, Burdock Kimbap, and the Spicy Rice Cake. I enjoyed everything that I ordered, especially the Spicy Squid Kimbap (fyi- not spicy). I finally tried ddokbboki and Korean feast noodles. I expected a lot for ddokbboki. I ordered feast noodle kimbop combo. The recipe for ddokbboki was quite different, more spicy and lots of watery broth than usual ddokbboki I had all the time. Here I think the restaurant is focused on a variety of kimbops. Feast noodles called Janchi noodles in Korea, were good w anchovy broth. I recommend more Tuna kimbop, Sundae (korean sausage) for the snacks or light lunch. The owner couple are so friendly. My only real complaint is that each one was so packed with ingredients that they fell apart when I picked it up. I thought it will be ok ordering here because the reviews were good, and I ordered japchae, tricolored vegetables, and braised pollack, and the online price was $180. However, I paid $207, but I had to come home without confirming price because I didn't have time. After the meeting, We found out there were lots of leftovers food. They told me Japchae and vegetables 's texture were all bad. All over cooked and old. Noodle was not soft but hard and very less vege and meat in Japchae. I had no choice but to throw away all the food. The one of three kinds vegetables, I think it was Gosari. The color was very dark and texture was very bad all mushy. Since all my guests didn't like food I felt really bad and embarrassed. I regret I didn't take pictures of food. I don't recommend ordering catering here because of bad quality of food. read more

This shop seems to be run by an elderly Korean couple which is about as authentic of an immigrant story as it gets. Opening a small business, let alone a restaurant can be one of the most terrifying experiences as it is a well known fact that many restaurants fail to get off the ground. This place seems very low key as it sits in a pretty quiet lot, along with other small businesses. We ordered 3 different kimbaps (spam, bulgogi, and myulchi), which were all reasonably priced and picked up some of their banchans (which looked like it was prepared in the kitchen) and very well priced, compared to any of the Korean supermarkets.
