I came here to celebrate my birthday with some friends and we had a nice time! The food was delicious and my friends had nothing but good things to say about our meals. I got the Japanese/Sushi Burrito which was soooo delicious! It comes with a dipping sauce which I think is Yum Yum sauce but not necessarily sure. My friends got the Who's Your Daddy Rolls and really enjoyed it. We also got the sake/soju that the restaurant had which was good as well. My friend got a salad as well and they give you a big serving! The vibe of the place was nice and comfy! read more

I have been eagerly awaiting the opening of Sushi Bruce Ya since the sign went up months ago! It's open now and glorious. If you're a fan of Shoyou sushi, it's pretty much the same menu but located on the other side of town! It also expands the number of customers that can enjoy the ginormous rolls and fresh food every day! The interior is a bit different from Shoyou and there isn't a sushi bar but it still is super comfortable and service is timely. The menu is huge and you'll need some time to read the menu since it's a complex menu but it just means that there are more items to enjoy! The rolls are huge and the fish is always fresh! I would highly recommend asking the waitstaff how many things you should order for portions and for recommendations. The restaurant didn't have a liquor license when I went so I'm looking forward to when they get theirs! read more

Disappointed in the sushi. I used to love Shoyou Sushi and was excited to try this location but it was a disappointment. The sushi rice was very mushy. Service was attentive and food came out in a reasonable amount of time but it doesn't "wow" the way it used to. Great ambiance. read more

I'd like to update my review to give the perspective of a To-Go order. This sushi was so good that we decided we wanted more, but we wanted to pick up our order and eat it at home. The order was ready on time and when we brought it home we were so impressed by the packaging. I just had to update this review. My friend and I recently went to Sushibruce Ya and both would equally rate it 5/5 We ordered: Baked Alaskan roll: wonderfully plated and flavorful Who's Your Daddy?: This our favorite of the meal. We love spicy and so the combination of spicy tuna as well as wasabi aioli was fabulous (would reorder) Hawaiian Ahi Roll: another wonderful roll. 5/5 I loved the seaweed salad on top of the roll itself. It was fresh, light, and another fan favorite for my friend and I We will 100% be back and recommend for a variety of sushi options! read more

The owner responded to our email and urged us to try again. On our most recent visit, things seemed 85% what they used to be. Nigiri is still smaller than it used to be. But overall the quality of the sushi is good. Would recommend. read more

The sushi here is not too bad! Prices are reasonable and not overly expensive. I would pour it out there that the special rolls are definitely bigger than their classic rolls, so the price difference between the two sets makes sense. Service was quick and the sushi rolls came out pretty quickly. The vibes inside were great. It was not too busy on a Friday night. read more

Great sushi option in Fells Point. Although we have several sushi restaurants in the Harbor East/Fells area this place rates highly for the combination of cost and value. We tried several rolls including the hot night baby and the playboy roll and ordered the toro nigiri. The prices per roll range from 15-20ish but I think are reasonable as the rolls are fully loaded and definitely enough fish for 1.5 rolls. The toro was very fresh and perfectly fatty. They also do a brisk takeout service if you don't want to dine in. No need for reservations, I was able to walk in for a weekend dinner without a wait. This is a nice location for casual sushi dinner or date night! read more

4.5 but rounding up to 5 since it's a new restaurant! Sister restaurant to shoyou and in a more convenient location for me. The menu is similar and the quality is the same. I came in knowing that this restaurant is better known for more non traditional/elaborate sushi, and it does them well. Wouldn't come here for simple sashimi/sushi. read more

The sushi gods have answered my prayers!!!!!! Now I don't have to drive all the way to Fed for my favorite rolls ^_^ Sushi Bruce Ya offers that same familiar taste we all know and love (and would sell our souls for) just in a larger setting. The interior of the new space is beautiful and spacious! Service was ok--might need a little more training (ex--she asked if we wanted ice in our beer glasses? Never heard that one before.) One stop closer to a Shoyou location in the county and then I'll really be in heaven! read more

Decided to come here to try a new spot and I will be coming back. Skyler, along with another server (I don't know her name) were attentive to my requests at all times. The food was also amazing. I love eel, and highly recommend the freshwater eel nigiri. It's perfect as a starter because of the umami taste. For the main course I got the "Who's your daddy". I was nervous because of the wasabi aioli, but it truly isn't overwhelming or hot at all - the roll was very good! Overall, I would highly recommend coming here for a fun night out, the atmosphere is flexible for a date or a casual meal. read more

This is from the same owner of the beloved Shoyu Sushi in Fed Hill. I'm excited for another sushi spot to open in fells point as there is a lack of good sushi in the area. I will say this location and decor is 4 stars. The food is closer to 3.5. I'm pretty simple when I comes to sushi. I love sashimi and unfortunately there's not a lot of sashimi options here. Only some tuna, salmon and yellowtail. I went on a Wednesday and it was pretty busy! I think most of us locals are excited for another sushi spot to open. If you love fancy rolls with lots of fixings this is the place for you. I will most likely come back but the maki rolls was the disappointing. read more

Had a terrible experience - i shared with the server that I'm allergic to onions and cucumbers. I witnessed the server relay this information to the kitchen. Then the kitchen decided to bring out a salad without any dressing because the dressing has onion puree and a spicy salmon roll with cucumber in it. I took one bite, realized there is cucumber and had to rush to the bathroom to spit it out. Later I shared with the server that this is not okay, and that this incidence should be shared with the kitchen and the owner. At this point I saw the owner (presumably Bruce?) pass by our table about 4-5 times without any apologies or acknowledgement. There was no apology from the kitchen either. Then of course the restaurant had the audacity to add an automatic 18% tip haha. This was such an unexpected experience. I've never seen a restaurant make such an indefensible mistake and at the same time behave so nonchalant about it. I will not be back, and i do not recommend this restaurant. read more

Definitely check it out. Something for everyone! Great selection. Wish they had some more variety with sashimi. Garlic edamame was top tier. We also enjoyed the gyoza and baked mussels. No one had critiques about their food. Collectively we had the sweet honey roll, big boss, Hawaiian ahi roll and sure thing. Service was great. And we were happy to have options for beer, wine and sake. great celebration dinner. Our server was awesome and knowledgeable with recommendations. SOME OF THE BEST SUSHI YOU WILL FIND IN BALTIMORE! Stumbled upon this place after going to THREE different sushi spots in the area while trying to find some lunch with friend. Apparently a lot of the small sushi business in fells is TAKE OUT only not this place not only can you sit down and eat, the lay out is very cute w/ a bar to match. The food tho... as a Californian lets be honest the sushi in BMore is subpar at best but THIS place totally put me in my place. You will not be disappointed. read more

Checked out sushibruce yesterday for a date. I wanted to go because it's an extension of shoyou sushi. The ambience was pretty chill. We went when it wasn't busy. The waitress came to our table (often lol) to see how we were doing. We got two appetizers, the Firecracker and the creamy tempura shrimp. They were both delicious and came out so fresh. For my sashimi I got Toro and Salmon. The portions sizes are so good. Then I got the hot night baby roll. This is the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5 and it's because I personally do not like lump crab/imitation crab in my sushi rolls. No where in the description did it say there was crab in the roll at all, but they explained to me that their shrimp tempura automatically has crab in it. Lol I've never seen that before but nonetheless it was great experience. And the roll wasn't bad, I just don't like crab in my sushi rolls (unless it's soft shell crab). The hostess was also great with drink recommendations. read more

Sky NEEDS to improve her customer service skills or not be front of house... I have been so eager to try to this place after watching some reviews on TikTok, we walk in table of 3 and were greeted as if this restaurant was a cool club we weren't invited to. Multiple tables open, multiple people leaving, and multiple servers in site, Everything was a "no, no, no" from this server. I genuinely had to point to a table of three and table opening and seat myself then get glared at by the server herself who clearly just didn't want us to be sat for some reason. Then we had julia serve us and take over and it was a wonderful meal with amazing sushi. She is amazing. Truly sad that one awful employee is ruining the energy and environment for anyone trying to just sit the heck down and enjoy. read more

Incredible! The ambiance is beautiful. The meals are incredible. The sushi chef is a pro and you will be getting unique, tasty, and well-done rolls. Give time for service to smooth out (Sushi Bruceya opened August/September 2023) and the entire experience will be so good. The chef, Mr. Bruceya, also owns Shoyou Sushi in Federal Hill - which consistently holds its own on the list of Top 20 Best Restaurants in Baltimore. read more

Maybe one of the best sushi places i've been to. Their fatty tuna seemed to melt in my mouth it was so good. The waitress we had was very nice and we even got a free shrimp tempura as a service. We had a great experience at Sushibruce! It was a quiet Wednesday night, but the restaurant is definitely cute for a date night. Our server Sky was so nice and always appeared when we needed her. We ordered the Shrimp Shumai as our app and was concerned about the small size, but it packs a lot of flavor! It was truly delicious and I loved that the shrimp was on top. We ordered the Playboy Roll to share and it was giant but so good! The Salmon Roe Nigiri was fresh and delicious. The shrimp tempura was crunchy and refreshing. And the spicy tuna roll was some of the best we've had. We'll definitely be back to try more rolls! read more

I placed a catering/pickup order at 8:30 AM for my friend's birthday, with a scheduled pickup time of 12:30 PM. When I arrived to pick up the order, I was told that everything I had ordered was sold out. The frustrating part was that I was never notified ahead of time, so I had no opportunity to make another selection before arriving. Since my friend doesn't eat chicken, I had to find another seafood option on the spot. Once I found something that would work, I had to pay an additional $15 and then wait another 20 minutes for the new order. I normally go to the Locust Point location and have never really had issues there, so I don't want this experience to give the impression that I think Ekiben is bad overall. This was genuinely just one bad experience. The food itself is still AMAZING. I'm obsessed with the Tacklebox, the tempura broccoli is , and the chili noodles are an absolute SMASH. I'll definitely still be back because I genuinely love Ekiben -- I just hope there's better communication when an item from a scheduled order is no longer available.

They also ordered wagyu fried rice and wagyu air fried rice (what's that?) She did say the fish was good but they all left hungry. These entrées, two cocktails plus two reg bevs came to over $200. The price wasn't a problem however they felt the value when it comes to quantity and price, left them looking for more. They choose Azumi for her husband's 60th birthday celebration and had to ask the server about how they would celebrate him since the check was about to arrive and nothing had happened. Their server asked if they were ordering something from the dessert menu and my friend declined. The server then came back with a small bowl of ice cream on top of a block of ice and three spoons . . . . She said they were all surprised and basically laughed at the "birthday" treat before them and how they were supposed to share the palm sized ice cream. She said multiple times they wouldn't go back and how disappointed her husband was with his birthday dinner experience while telling me the story. SMH I felt bad and asked her why she didn't ask me for a suggestion because yall know, we know who won't disappoint. She also didn't take any pics and I scolded her about that lol. I may have to fully recruit her to the Yelp family so she can do her research first although she stated her husband seen them on Tik Tok or IG. I have learned from that as well.

We got this with Crab Meat, but there didn't seem to be any dressing on it so it was fairly plain. I enjoyed the Sashimi Roll - they are large pieces that will stretch the average mouth to fit. We got a side of spicy mayo and found it more sweet than spicy. I appreciated that the Sushi & Sashimi plate came with small seaweed salad. All in all a great spot I would frequent if I lived in Baltimore - you really can't beat the location that enhances the dining experience.

Nestled in the heart of Fells, you'll find Sushi Bruce Ya, boasting a cozy atmosphere. My husband and I decided to have dinner here on a Saturday evening. Although the place was bustling, we were promptly seated. Our server was both friendly and attentive. My overall impression of the food was just average, but I'll cut them some slack since they had recently opened. Unfortunately, many of the sashimi options I wanted to order were unavailable, which was disappointing. However, they kindly provided us with a complimentary appetizer, which was a nice gesture. I particularly enjoyed the ika salad and tuna tartar; they were exceptionally delicious and fresh. On the other hand, the sashimi and nigiri seemed to lack a bit of freshness, possibly due to being defrosted for too long, resulting in a somewhat soggy and warm texture. Nevertheless, the fish itself still exhibited signs of freshness, and the portions were quite generous. My husband ordered the sushi burrito and enjoyed it, and we also tried a roll (whose name we forgot), which was also good. Overall, I wouldn't mind returning to give them another chance.
