Teriyaki chicken over white rice. Extra salad bc my wife loves the salad.
    Jason G.

Been getting takeout sushi from here for years. Our go to cheap sushi spot that never disappoints. Buy 2 get 1 free sushi rolls can't beat that! And they satisfy the craving for sure. And the teriyaki chicken is also bomb! Great value!

My go to spot - now buy 2 rolls get one free! Love the tofu agedashi. Service is always great!

    Sakura Island

They have an incredible 20% off deal before 4 PM but even without these deals, they have quite affordable prices for both their sushi and bento boxes! The space is quite cozy with a main room and a side room that has a separate detached AC unit; however, note that it can become quite hot during the summers. Their menu is expansive and ordering a sushi roll can be quite daunting given the number of options. We chose the Sakura Ilsand given that it is wrapped in cucumber instead of rice and was a nice change of pace! The staff are very friendly and continuously checked up on us. The only complaint I would make (but I'm not sure if this is the restaurant's fault) is that the water had a weird detergent-like aftertaste.

We wanted to try out a new sushi spot & saw this one was close to home, when we arrived turns out they have a lunch special & a check on offer as well for a complimentary starter (gyoza or edemame). We ordered the mozzarella, garlic salmon, pineapple tree and mushed off with the mango sunshine. I was hesitant about the garlic salmon being too spicy with the jalapeño but as someone with a low spicy tolerance, you can barely tell it's there. It's also a great spot if you're needing a quick lunch!

Four roles with two that are half the size of the others. Wow Roll Spicy Crispy Roll

The roles use to be full size. However, the last time we ordered, they sent us two half roles which made no sense why they did that. One piece of the spicy was eaten by us, but you can see how it was still shorter even with the missing piece. Do better.

I ordered the crazy and Gozilla roll. Both were very good. It was just enough to fill me for a late lunch price range is average. The spicy sauce on top was perfect. I plan to order again soon.

Nothing tasted fresh. In fact, the pepper fin tasted thawed. First and last time here due to the dirt alone. The entire place just looks 3rd world dirty. Flies everywhere, hello caked grime on the tables. Kitchen looks gross. The girl serving us was great. She was doing it alone at happy hour. There are cleaner and fresher sushi places all over.

It just ok. Not a place I would think to come back to. The rolls were good, but not enough sauce and they tasted all the same.

There are steps first to the area or you can go around a longer way to get to where this is a ramp. There is not clear signage of where this is. It was a very hot day, I went a few days ago. Important factor - I use a walker on good days, wheelchair on worse. Today I was using a walker. They asked indoors or outdoors and because of the heat I asked for indoors. The server / hostess guestured and said "Sit anywhere". But almost all the tables were quite high and require mobility. They were those raised chairs and tables you almost have to climb up to sit. And at the end of the counter there was a lowered portion with two seats that were accessible. However, they were using this counter space for storage with bunches/little buckets of utensils, ketchups, a dirty dish rag, napkins, other various items. To the credit of the man working at the counter part, he did offer to clear it up for me. I did refuse because if you only have two accessible seats inside, using that space as storage sends a message that my business isn't wanted. Same with stores that use the only accessible changing room as storage for all the put backs. It's the principle of the thing. My husband and I ended up leaving and eating somewhere else. I have just moved to the area a couple of months ago and had a good time at one of the coffee shops the week before nearby and like the little downtown Fair Oaks vibe for walking around, local businesses, etc. I hope in the future they can be ready for disabled folks like myself in a similar way that they are for all patrons.

When Rosa sold the restaurant (formerly El Papagayo), she didn't take the decision lightly. Her dedication to quality, and respect for her loyal vegan clientele needed to be preserved. But carnivores and sports fans win here, too. This is what happens when the former executive chef at 58 Degrees and Holding Co. In Midtown teams up with a creative bartender with over 10 years' experience, one who knows that a real margarita includes actual fresh fruit. Not only do these guys have mad skills - they're genuinely nice people. Combine that with music, big screen TVs and a casual, fun atmosphere. Add in free appetizers, Whimpy Burger Wednesdays (Sorry guys, "I'll gladly pay you Tuesday" ain't gonna fly here - but good try!), and of course, scrumptious food with options for gluten-free and vegan diets...plus plenty of parking, and a horseshoe-shaped bar that encourages new friendships. Pure magic. My personal recommendations - Lady Lumps or Tofu Lumps, light and flaky choices that will make you rethink lumpia. As of this post, the current special is the Palo Tallow, flavorful fried rice featuring thinly sliced, sweet and savory Chinese sausage, topped with an omelet for added protein. Or, try the "Cali"-flower Sisig, or choose from delectable, skewered meats. And why not get in a collision with the Head-On Garlic Shrimp! Don't underestimate this place, these guys are true culinary adventurers and willing to change up the menu to bend with the wind. Check it out!

After enjoying glasses of chardonnay at nearby Luna Lounge (please reference my review if…read moreinterested), my wife and I headed to The Blind Pig to enjoy a few cocktails. Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly bartender by the name of Ronny. Our first round consisted of two dirty martinis (my new drink of choice), which Ronny put his fist (that's a good thing) into making. One of the things that I love about dive bars is the various demographics that usually frequent them (along with their interesting conversations). For our second round we ordered a "Manmosa (yes I know that sounds ridiculously machismo in 2024)" that Ronny insisted on putting a fruity spin on. Not only were we thankful for his suggestion, but his version was GOOD! In real dive bar-like fashion, Ronny provided us both with an extra cup to house the remainder of the Manmosa that could not fit into our glasses (another dive bar perk). As we sat at the bar, my wife and chatted while lightly watching the movie Step Brothers on one of the televisions. Although it was a fairly slow Saturday afternoon, I can imagine that this place gets pretty lively in the latter part of the night though. We observed lots of seating, games, and an area for karaoke (toasted karaoke is the best!). I highly recommend The Blind Pig if you're looking to have deliciously strong drinks at a price that won't have you waking up the next morning rethinking the decisions that you made the previous night!
