Found this gem passing through. Cute, warm, inviting outside. Questioned the $78 we were spending on two cowboy meals and the family appetizer, but we're more than pleased with what we received. HUGE appetizer, came with fried mushrooms, jalapeño poppers, chicken bites, mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, waffle fries, and onion rings. Yes this is not only a great spot for the travelers, but several locals hang out here. There is plenty of seating. They have plenty of tables set up for bigger groups too. The outside patio was big and inviting. We chose to sit inside even though it was a nice day. Not wanting to eat a lot, we (2 of us) chose to share a fry bread taco and have chips with homemade salsa. The chips were thick fried corn tortillas, served warm, almost hot. Vary Nice!! The salsa was more tomatoes than spicy but still addictive and we ate it like we were hungry. I am glad we chose to share because they split the dish in the kitchen and I could not finish my 1/2! The portion of the chips and salsa was also huge. They serve the chopped ice that is fun to crunch, the coffee was hot and good flavor. Service was great! I liked my meal here. My husband, not so much. We both ordered burgers. I liked the amount of cheese and that it was served with thousand island dressing. It was delicious. My husband thought his burger was only okay, and he didn't like that they charged extra for cheese. I have to say that the fries were downright terrible (super soggy and inedible). I can see why other reviewers said the waitstaff is rude. Ours started out a little cold, but warmed up by the end. The reviews were sketchy and I have ZERO idea why! We had the best experience! The dinner/side salad was so fresh and great! I had blue cheese dressing and it was so good! Girls split a BLT and it was so great, fresh and filling! I had the flat iron and it was cooked to perfection! So many places way over due a medium rare! We raise our own grass fed beef and this was absolutely perfect! Juicy and seasoned to perfection! Hubs had Prime Rib and said it was super good. We also had the deep fried mushrooms and so many places wash them and they come out soggy and these were delicious! I had the Pinot Noir, it was smooth and not too sweet! 3 out of 4 meals came out WRONG. Burgers were raw instead medium - steak was ask well done but could not even cut it with a knife. They did remake 3 meals for us but it wasn't offered - we had to insist. Blue cheese dressing was very watered down but barely acceptable. So if you want a good prime rib, this place delivers. It's a fantastic prime rib with lots of flavor and fresh horseradish for people like me who love it. But if you don't like prime rib? I don't know if I'd bother. The rest of the menu is fine. Great experience! We had two Navajo Tacos and asked that one be split. The portions were huge!! It was like two for the price of one! Also got the chicken bowl and it was tasty - very peppery though in case you're not into that bit of a kick. Had a side of fry bread with butter and honey and it was a perfect way to end the meal. The service was excellent, refilling waters as needed but not obnoxiously. The atmosphere is cozy country and very clean and updated. Outdoor seating is available when it's not scorching hot. My husband and I visited Susie's while visiting Moab. We both thought it was a good restaurant serving good food. If we lived here we would definitely go back. But the real reason I wanted to write a review was the absolutely spot-on, fabulous service we got from Kourtney. She was very busy; it was Saturday night, a table of 8 was seated just before us, and she had quite a few other tables. But she never missed a beat. Something happened in the kitchen and a couple who was seated after us got their food before us. She was on it; she apologized, went in the kitchen to see what was up, and came back to tell us (some screw up, who cares? What I care about is not being ignored). It still took awhile longer and I noticed an older (no offense, I'm 65) blond woman who appeared to be a manager, and I'm pretty sure Kourtney told her she was having trouble with our meal. I overheard the woman tell Kourtney not to forget another table that had just been seated. She did not offer to help; Kourtney then jogged to the kitchen to get our dinner. We asked a park ranger at Canyonlands for a recommendation for where to eat in Moab, Utah. She recommended Branding Iron. We arrived on a Thursday and had the special, bbq pork ribs and split 3 orders. It was very tender and fell off the bone. We went back on Friday for their specialty, prime rib., which was delicious and very satisfying. They had 12oz or 16 oz portions. It was very good. We had a selection of local beers and their homemade desserts and they were very good also. They have a variety of other entrees such as chicken fried steak, fried chicken, sandwiches, and hamburgers but we didn't try them. Many others have revised those. read more

This restaurant is adorable and the food was fantastic! We went here after a morning hiking at Arches National Park and worried a bit that we'd be underdressed. We were just fine and no one batted an eye at our dusty shoes. The staff was stretched a little thin, so service wasn't top notch, but everyone was friendly and helpful as they could be. I wish I hadn't eaten here. The service was good. The food had no taste. Very bland burger and chicken fried chicken. Also, the prices are high for the food quality. It's a safe bet that the fried mushrooms were poured driectly out of a bag that was kept in the freezer. Hot tea was $2. It seemed to me that this restaurant was more focused on squeezing every cent out of the customer. Also, it was extremely loud, even to the point that the server commented. What a great place! Glad we came in. Portions are generous. Every thing was delicious and cooked properly. Rustic house salad came with the entrees and were great. My rib eye was delivered as ordered and so tender as to deserve to be called buttery. The waitress told me that they cut all there steaks here. We also had the bbq ribs, salmon and a burger which all received high marks. The fries were hand cut and good. As you will have seen in the other reviews, the fry bread was a real treat. We were here on June 28th., 2020 and had a very nice server, Vinny. The place looks like a steak house on the outside but it's not and we also anticipated more of an upper scale menu selection as well, No. The food was blah, the atmosphere was blah and the overall experience was also blah. So, be sure to check the menu out before you go. If your looking for a steak house, or a better place to dine that offers something like "fine dining" it's not here and it does not exist in Moab. With their website touting reviews such as "Best Food in Moab," Yummy Food and Great Service and of course my favorite, "Great Prime rib." I was not impressed. I ordered the Prime Rib and all I have say is this is not prepared from a whole rib, the slices are pre cut and then seared to finish. I have never had a prime rib that was cooked on both sides and the middle was rare. The rare piece of meat came after I sent it back for being medium well. When I sent the rare piece back they microwaved it which left the plate full of juice which of course soaked into my French Fries making them a congealed mess. Obviously I do not recommend this place. Go downtown and choose some of the other great places available. read more

Our waitress was good and several of our meals were pretty good however one member of our party (there were 6 of us) did not like his very bland tasting Navajo Taco and politely asked if he could send it back and try something else. When the bill came, he was charged for both meals accompanied by a defensive manager insulting him saying "everyone else likes this and we can't help it you don't". There are lots of bad restaurants in touristy Moab -- just look at the reviews! Susie's Branding Iron is definitely on of the best options in the area. We were in Moab for 2 nights, and were staying on the complete opposite side of town, but we liked Susie's Branding Iron so much that we made the trek over there for BOTH lunches prior to going out for the day. Food is very good, prices are reasonable, and the service is pretty good. It doesn't open until 11:30am, so you can't go there for breakfast, but if you're looking for a great option for lunch or dinner, this is definitely one of the best places in town. It's all the way on the south side of Moab, and in fact it appears you're leaving town prior to arriving there. While it was an extra few minutes drive, I actually preferred this, as it was away all of the craziness and crowds normally associated with Moab. read more
